    Paranormal activity

So, I went to see this movie last night with a friend. The hype around it intrigued me enough that well, I might as well check it out since it's at the cheap cinema in town. So we walk in, take our seats, sit through the opening ads and then it starts rolling. The beginning, to me felt like it could be some sort of comedy, I just couldn't take it seriously and I thought to myself, "How are they going to turn this around, how are they going to make it scary after setting it up like this?" Well somewhat to my surprise, the big glaring; "Don't judge a book by its cover" or rather a movie by its opening popped up later on.

The thing I liked about it was the transformation of the characters, the boyfriend from a foolish and immature man-child to a more concerned/thoughtful person, and the girlfriend from a somewhat light hearted and lovable to just going nuts. The scary aspects are brought in little by little, form the doors moving and some loud noises, and that's also where I considered that the scares are brought in not so much by atmospheric tension(though it gets a lot more heavy later on), but rather sudden jolts of sound. As it progressed it got a bit better, but I kept thinking to myself that if maybe the beginning was a bit less silly the scares would be more effective.

All in all, it was fairly good and not much else, watchable but it could've been better. My only input is that, there were a lot of mirrors shown throughout, and I figure they could've gotten some real freak outs from subtle uses of the abundance of those reflective surfaces. That's just nitpicking however, and I suppose with the budget used to make this film it probably couldn't get much better than it was. I admit though, that the end freaked me the hell out and made my friend flail his arms and scream like a little girl, so that puts some credits towards it.

The Taggening Part 2: Electric Boogaloo

These facts brought to you by; JustPlainLucas for tagging me and making me scrape some up from the cobweb infested hollows of my brain.

    1. I have a black widow as a pet
    2. Last year on Halloween I consumed $56 worth of candy myself
    3. I intend to break that amount by at least $10 this year regardless of the daunting stomach failure that may follow
    4. When eating cereal I put the spoon in first then the cereal/milk
    5. I've traveled at least 97000km so far in my life (multiple trips to Sweden and the U.S etc)
    6. I enjoy photography
    7. I plan to grow out my hair for the next year to see how long it gets
    8. Every bike I have I've found while cleaning out old houses for work
    9. I compulsivelyclean my PC/TV screens
    10. I laugh at a minimun fifteen times daily

And since it took me enough time to think up this meager list, I'm being merciful and not spreading the tagging plague any further.
