PS3 Trophies

9Nov 09
That's right, I've reached 1000 trophies. I never thought this could ever happen. Since my first trophy (First Treasure: Uncharted Drake's Fortune) to the milestone (I see you: Resistance 2), a lot of things come into my mind:
- I wasn't really into trophies when Sony implemented them. It was a nice feature that adds replay value in my honest opinion. Previously when playing a new game, after beating it, its place was the shelf. Now, if I have to play it 3-4 times I don't mind now.
- I know pretty much every game available that has trophies, there are easy and hard ones. Easy: Terminator: Salvation. Hard: Warhawk. I have a few games that I simply 'forgot' to play because of the hard trophies: Wipeout HD, Battlefield: Bad Company and a few others.
-I admit that I play a game just for trophies, however, there are easy games that I don't have: Alone in the Dark, Terminator: Salvation, WWE: Legends of Wrestlmania and Mega Drive Ultimate Collection. But I plan to get them just for keeping me busy hunting for their trophies.
-I do enjoy every game that I play, unlocking trophies are just a bonus.

Are things suddenly looking up for the Playstation 3 or is it just me? The PS3 Slim with a lower price point seems to have grabbed many people's attentions, and the new advertising campaign is a lot more memorable and on-target than previous campaigns. And then there are the multitude of new exclusives hitting the console over the next six months or so, the first of which is Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Here is a system that has so far promised a great deal and, it has to be said, delivered far less than what was hoped. It's not without its must-have games – Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2, and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune but it's arguable whether any of these are system sellers. And now comes Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, the sequel to the already-brilliant original. Announced and unveiled a year ago, the game was released on Oct. 13. The first reviews are now starting to come in and they are universally positive. In fact, two of the first officially recognized reviews have given the game perfect scores.
Playstation: The Official Magazine got in there first and gave the game 10 out of 10. With a scoring system out of 5 and the fact we're talking the official magazine here I guess that was inevitable. GameSpot describes Uncharted 2 has 'a complete game that is completely awesome'. GamesRadar has now given it 10 out of 10 and described it as "brilliant," "amazing," and "a killer-app" likely to drive Xbox 360 fanboys to tears. While IGN has given it 9.5 out of 10 which while not perfect is still mightily impressive. They describe the graphics as "the best of the best" and talk up every other aspect as well. In essence, reviewers are stating this is a game without a weak spot.
The reviews so far have praised the graphics without hesitation, and even the above trailer suggests they are the best we've yet seen in a video game. The storyline is also top notch, and the voice acting and script are good enough to help blur the lines between games and movies, although this is an interactive movie that will last you at least 10 hours. And then there is the new multiplayer, which again has elicited nothing but praise.
I'm sure there will be some reviews more that focus on the small aspects of the game which could be improved, and the scores may unfairly reflect that, but overall it seems Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is one game that has convinced reviewers of its brilliance. The question now is whether it's the game that can persuade the mainstream that they need to buy a PS3.

Hi everyone, guess what arrived today, after one week waiting for it? Uncharted 2.

It's been a while since I purchased a new game after being a few days out. The last time was with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare when I bought my PS3, it cost me 60 Euros. Games here aren't cheap and I prefer buying them online: Example: a new sealed game costs around 70 Euros, and that's too much in my opinion. When I was in the Army, I didn't had a problem in buying a game for such price but now times are different... I simply can't buy a new game for 70 Euros. Blame the world crisis perhaps...
That's why I buy them online and/or wait for a price drop. I got Uncharted 2 for 50 Euros. After a very boring weekend hunting pigeons in GTA: IV, I decided to go outside and buy a new game, I couldn't wait for Uncharted 2 . I found Resistance 2 for 29.89 Euros. It was a game that I was looking forward to buy but I didn't had the chance, until I saw it on the shelf. I think I'm going to wait until Christmas for a new game because these two will keep me busy for a very long time. What a timing, Modern Warfare 2 is almost here...oh well.

What about you? Do you buy games at full price or do you buy them online and/or wait for a price drop? Happy gaming.

So, it seems that my turn has arrived. Private_Adam was kind enough to tag me. I think the virus is spreading again. Without any further ado, here's 10 things about me:
1 - I am a freelance writer and a moderator at NoobFeed.com, which is a new site that was brought to life by Gamespot members.
2 - I am a trophy hunter. I do enjoy a game tough, but then I simply like to collect all the trophies. I have a total of 9 platinum trophies and my most dificult one was Killzone 2.
3 - Altought I am a big FPS fan, I haven't played Resistance 2. I've been waiting for a price drop for a long time because in my country a new game costs around 70 Euros.
4 - I plan to write an editorial next week. It's been a while since I wrote one.
5 - I lied when I said that I had 10 random things about me, I only have 5. Sorry about that!
In the end, I leave you with the users that I would like to tag:

Hi everyone, I haven't done one of these lately and thought about giving you all an update about what I've been playing.
I finally bought Call of Duty: World at War. Started playing last week and it was great to finally play a FPS, because of the intensity and the feeling of playing my favorite genre. However, just like everything has to end, I beat it two days ago. Quite good, the veteran difficulty was hard like I expected and I got a shiny Platinum trophy to add my collection. It wasn't the first time that I was playing veteran mode in a FPS, but this time I was a bit more careful. Just like Killzone 2, the last mission you need to kill trillions of enemies and you need to fight the rain of grenades. It was great when I saw the credits and I always say: Mission Accomplished.
Then I had to buy a new game, Uncharted 2 was the chosen one, but unfortunately the game was sold out, I guess I need to wait a few more days until I get my hands on this one. I've been waiting for this game for too long, seen reviews, and I think we have a GOTY contender, don't you agree?
Now that I have to wait for Nathan Drake again, it's time for GTA:IV. I decided to give another try and get the extras: Stunt jumps, pigeons, etc. It's been a while since my last visit at Liberty City but it's always great to visit great places.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Since my early days when I've joined GS, a lot has changed. The site started to make part of my life and I'm surprised, I haven't left since then. GS is a very popular site around the globe and I might be wrong but if you are a gamer, you know what's GameSpot.com all about. I started to use GS in a regular basis in order to feed my gaming needs. I usually track games that doesn't need to check a review because I know that game is going to be worth purchasing. Instead, I check all the great features all over the site made by the GS editors. Those people really know how to make something look really great and fun to watch/read.
I don't remember Carrie, probably because she left GS before I became active, around February, 2007. But I do remember other editors that in the meantime have left GameSpot. Also, Greg Kasavin comes into my mind. Guys, I checked his reviews and he gave life to every video review that he made, making the game worth checking. There are a few more editors, but I don't recall any names right now. I was still fresh in GS and I was starting to learn about this site. Following in His Footsteps - It's a quests from Fallout 3. I compare this quest to my first months as a member.
I became aware of GameSpot's popularity in my second year, TGS, E3, were some coverages that were awesomely made by these gifted souls. I also started to make some appearances in the forums, by posting reguraly in the boards: Welcome Newbies, OT Board, PS3 discussion and many others. Making some good friends here, some of them have left or they were banned, and some of them are still here. I would like to thank you all for dealing with me for 3 years.

I started to feel GS when Richie, Brad, Alex, Jeff, Ryan Davis and a few others were here. If I tell you that I didn't missed any episode of On the Spot around midnight every Thrusday, you probably won't believe me but this was the time that I was enjoying every single bit of GS. There was fun and hard work as well, but seing those guys live were something that I won't forget. There was an individual called Aaron Thomas, you know, the guy who has a feature called "Getting to know Gamespot". In his videos, he shows something beyond the editor personality, with a few interesting interviews for your viewing pleasure.
Kristin Riley, Don Francis, Bethany, Sondra, Ryan McDonald, Chris Waters, Guy Cocker, Justin Calvert, Brendan Sinclair, Tom Mc Shea, Brian Ekberg, Kevin Van Ord, Shaun M., Sophia Tong, Jody Robinson, Lark Anderson, Ricardo Torres. While some of them have left, others are just a small part of GameSpot and there's a lot more behind the cameras. I would like to thank you all of you for such great moments and I hope you all have a bright future. Everything that you wish become reality. I apologize to the ones that I didn't mentioned, there's more but these are the ones that I can remember and somewhat interact with me via podcasts, features, live shows, etc.
3 years at GameSpot.com, what has changed? Probably not much, people come and go, that's life. However, the word GameSpot will be always present in our lives, in a way or another. Thank you!

Reached another milestone in the GS universe. When I signed up, I wasn't aware if I could ever reach such high in terms of levels. In my opinion, levels shows how much dedication/time you've spent in the forums. When I was in lower levels I paid to much attention in leveling up, now it's different, let the levels go up normally. You probably know that I only blog about levels when I reach a milestone(level 40-50) Let me tell you a secret, I will skip level 60 because what awaits me in level 63 is something that I can't describe.

The multiplayer modes include Co-Op Objective, Co-Op Arena, Deathmatch and Objectives. Each of these modes plays out differently and can have large or small rewards depending on your skill. The first mode Co-Op Objective is a side story from the main Uncharted 2 story and has 3 player spots available for you and your online friends or if you prefer to be matched up with a stranger, there is also that option available. The only Co-Op objective mission is based in the Nepal Warzone Map, an area familiar to those who have watched the trailers.

You and your online partners control Sully, Elena and Nathan on a side mission to get some treasure. You fight plenty of mercenaries along the way to complete your mission in Easy, Normal, Hard, or in Crushing mode, the hardest difficulty setting. The interesting part of the combat is that you can sneak up behind enemy for choke-holds, fire on top of a window with ease, blow up cars providing cover for enemy troops or use a Rocket Launchers to crush all opposition. Naughty Dog has designed the combat to be smooth in any situation for whatever mood fits you at the moment especially vertical combos.
Co-op Arena is similar to Co-Op Objective but there is no introduction to it at the beginning. Your team is introduced an objective which is to grab the treasure(A Golden idol) and leave it in the treasure chest. Seems simple enough, right? Well you quickly start panicking as enemy troops pour from all over the map trying to kill you and your team. The difficulty escalates as the your assassins bring in shotguns, sniper rifles, riot shields and even armored goons with Gatling Guns try to shut down your team.
At that point, your team must communicate in order to survive and stick together, develop strategies and coordinate becoming decoys or beginning assaults to push the enemy back. Its a great mode which creates camaraderie with total strangers if you go matchmaking. If it sounds familiar, think about Horde Mode from Gears of War 2 except Co-Op Arena has more focus on an objective and survival at the same time.

Deathmatch and Objective are much easier to explain. Deathmatch is simply team deathmatch with 10 players max(5v5) and is a challenge to see who gets 50 kills first. Match weapon selection include Standard, Sniper Rifle and Pistol, Rocket Launchers, and Elimination. The maps include Village, Ice Cave and the Plaza.
Matches have two objective types, Plunder and Chain Reaction. Plunder is similar to Capture the Flag as you have to grab the Treasure and take it to your side of the map. Chain Reaction is similar to Capture and Hold, as 5 territories on the map are up for grabs and taking all 5 guarantees an immediate victory. To add more good news to the full release, Uncharted 2 will pack several more maps and match types for those looking for variation.
The weapons in the beta already feel smooth and balanced in the multiplayer including the AK47, M4, FAL, RPG launcher, Grenade Launcher, three types of handguns, pump and auto shotguns and finally the Sniper Rifle. To see so much variety is exciting and it worked out perfectly in the multiplayer modes. The beta also gave gamers a chance to check out the booster system or "Perks" available in both co-op and competitive mode.

Abilities like Fleet Foot will allow you move faster while you are aiming, Down The Irons will allow you to shoot more accurately with the assault rifles, and several others will give you an advantage such as Turtle which makes you faster with the riot shields;good booster when you are clearing rooms of enemies. Co-op upgrades were also available such as making your AK47 more accurate, carry more ammo, or reload faster. A shopping list of boosters will keep the most hardcore players busy for weeks or even months.
It looks like Uncharted 2 will be a stunning game. Great multiplayer combined with another exciting single-player is a sure recipe for another excellent title that will be enjoyed by all kinds of gamers. Everything I saw from the multiplayer demo was polished to perfection and no issues came up that would cause any concern. To have a flawless beta just before the release is truly encouraging of the gaming bliss that awaits us. October 13 is the release date.

Trine is a very beautiful fairy tale that you can find on PSN. The atmosphere is gripping and the characters are also very interesting. Trine combines adventure with a variety of puzzle elements.
There are three characters in the game where you're going to set to work. The thief, an elegant lady is very mysterious and we know virtually nothing about her. The wizard is somewhat more recognition, especially among women. Any magician would really spell a particularly anyway to master: a fireball spell. The magician managed this, but trying to create a drink, so he still with this spell can impress the ladies. The knight in the story can prove that he is a true hero, he promised to "undead" to fight.Very heroic, but the knights do not even know what one is undead. Three interesting characters. The first level were purely focused on these characters, So we could know their special skills which each of them unique. The thief with her grappling hook swinging around from platform to platform, something that another character with a normal jump will not succeed. As the thief also can do is deal with bow and arrow. The magician can move objects in motion. Thus, for example, he could move a wooden box so he could get to a certain spot.

The game needs a lot of jumping and toddlers, like an old 2D game. Yet it is becoming more interesting. The heroic knight can whack with a sword and a shield to defend himself, He thus makes the action part in the game. The three characters share in any case a lot of variety. With all three at once, I mean that you can switch between three characters. When you encounter some enemies, of course you can keep the knight to get started. Some vigilance is always required, even in this game. Suppose you need to reach from one side to another and a wooden object is above, it is obviously useful to the thief to weave with her grappling hook. If they fall into the deep and not survive, you will be with the other two characters and have to find a solution.

Graphic are really great and everything is very detailed. The environments are so beautiful, it really is a real fairy tale in which the player imagines. The narrator also has a warm voice and creates a perfect atmosphere. Atmosphere is everything in this game. The characters, the environments, everything is alright. Trine has a simple concept that is still very impressive and certainly will provide the necessary challenge. It has action, it has puzzle elements and the necessary climbing. I think you should all give Trine a try.

Hello everyone, it's been ages since a new blog post from me, and I thought it was a good idea to give you all an update.
I decided to purchase from the PSN store a game that has been on my wish list for a long time, but probably because it has received not so good ratings, I wanted to wait some more time but still I wanted to try it. Probably because it has been a while since its release, and because I've heard that some of the issues have been fixed. I'm talking about SOCOM: Confrontation. I am a big fan of the series and I have played all the previous titles. I was expecting some next-gen improvements, but I think I was disapointed. Still, I am enjoying the game. For the ones who thing that SOCOM is all about hit and run like Rambo s.t.y.le., you're totally wrong. This is all about tactics. I've also achieved a few trophies and a platinum might arise, depending on a 'small' requirement: 5000 kills.
A few days ago arrived one of my favorite franchises as well: Tomb Raider. I've been a TR player since Tomb Raider III and TR: Underworld make me think that the game is back to its roots: Platforms, puzzles and ... platforms. That's all I need to enjoy a good Lara Croft game. Playing this game is so relaxing, and I must admit the passage to next gen was a success, at least in graphical terms because this game has a terrible camera issue. Taking that small detail, everything is beautiful and enjoyable. I'm in the 5th campaign and I've been playing at a very slow pace, exploring the levels, and picking some treasures along the way. I'm not dedicating my full time on this game, I play it on my SOCOM breaks. I'll deal with picking all the treasures and relics later.

That's all for now, I hope you all are doing well. My apologies for not commenting on your blogs as I used to, I've been somewhat slacking but better days would come.

The gaming market has an interesting irony that only a few have the luxury to note: one of the biggest problems of the big companies means a good year for their fans. The most recent example - and that will be discussed right away - is the racing games genre. Since these titles always seek to unite the best of fun with the simulation of a real car race, and now in the second half of 2009 promises something on fire: "Forza Motorsport 3" from Microsoft Game Studios, will compete to the supremacy of the slopes with "Gran Turismo 5, Sony Computer Entertainment. Exclusive, respectively, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, both titles still have a third concern: "Need for Speed Shift" from Electronic Arts, is coming with promises to renew the franchise and take it back to the starlight once again.

Forza MotorSport 3
Publisher: Microsoft
Developer: Turn10 Studios
Platform: XBOX 360
Forza Motorsport is a racing games franchise that had its start in the first Xbox. At the time, Gran Turismo from Sony, was the king of the "automobile simulation," then Microsoft Game Studios decided to compete on equal terms with the king of the moment. Forza 3 was announced with all the pomp and glamor that is entitled to a racing game. Already established as a memorable franchise, there are those who consider their relationship with Gran Turismo 5 'similar to a teacher whose students overcame. The director of FM 3, Dan Greenwalt, said that despite the tremendous respect he has by Kazunori Yamauchi (creator of Gran Turismo), is incredibly confident in his team. Forza Motorsport 3 will feature over 400 cars distributed among 50 manufactures, all licensed, of course. Moreover, the features that made its predecessor a success - highlighted here for the paint customization options - are further improved, according to the promises of Turn10. The vehicles range from utilitarian models, super sports, luxury sedans, racing cars and even SUVs - "Sport Utility Vehicles", as the Grand Cherokee and Mitsubishi Pajero. Moreover, the main focus of the development team is to unite the best representation of physical reality, but while the spirit of arcade "stick your foot and go" side. Citing himself Dan Greenwalt: "With 'Forza 3', we transform gamers into car lovers and car lovers into gamers.
Forza Motorsport 3 can indeed take the reign of Gran Turismo 5. Reasons? Miscellaneous. For starters, the "pre-build" version from Sony - "Gran Turismo 5: Prologue" - received critical acclaim for expert analysis. Moreover, E3 2009 served to further enhance the hope of a change, whereas as Forza 3 has earned itself a presentation at the Microsoft's conference, Gran Turismo 5 just won the exhibition of a trailer - although beautiful, did not serve to quench the thirst of the fans.

Gran Turismo 5
Publisher: SonyDeveloper: Polyphony Digital
Platform: PS3
Born in the first PlayStation in 1998, the Gran Turismo series were immortalized by being the most complete racing simulator that video games have already devised. When restricted to consoles from Sony, the franchise created by Kazunori Yamauchi always prized physical, rather than concentrating their efforts on speed. This helped him to give users an experience of handling never described before. Gran Turismo 5 is one of the most thankless task: Kazunori Yamauchi and Polyphony Digital team know that the version of Prologue was not what they expected, which led to the public the idea of "we know how that goes be. Something that always owed, but that Yamauchi ensures that in the fifth edition, is the representation of damage to vehicles. Before absent in all Working Groups of the franchise, it was common to hit the player with the car, since driving in this game is not the easiest thing in the world. The details related exclusively to the PlayStation 3 were not disclosed, but Yamauchi, during the Sony conference at E3 2009, was keen to stress partnerships with NASCAR and World Rally Championship, guaranteeing not only vehicles and licensed brands, but also events officers. Moreover, Sony has another trick up its sleeve: Gran Turismo PSP will be released for PSP / PSP Go!, featuring more than 800 vehicles and 35 different tracks.
While it is early to give any judgement, I think GT5 is losing. The fact that there was no demonstration in the largest gaming event in the world weighed heavily on the taste of the audience. That's not counting the fact that Gran Turismo 5 was first announced during E3 2006! Three years have passed and still insists that Yamauchi excuse of "it takes to do right, with unmatched quality" - we know how difficult it must be to create a simulator as real as to beat any competition, but three years with the same speech is too much...

Need for Speed: Shift
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: Slightly Mad Studios
Platforms: PC/PS3/PSP/X360Produced by Electronic Arts since 1994, is the oldest game of the three competitors. Born in 3DO, the Need for Speed franchise was for years the standard for the development of racing games. With the arrival of Need for Speed Carbon, in 2006, however, the series began a decline that would come to its lowest point with the recent Undercover , a milestone for any developer who wants to learn to NOT do a title race. Now, EA wants to reposition the saga in his position as before, leading him to the land of hyper-realistic simulation. Out with the streets, out with the illegal races. Need for Speed Shift will put the player on the racetrack. The differential of this title for the other two is that "shift" has a plot, though this topic has not yet received much detail.Basically, the idea of the development team is putting players in the shoes of a pilot who envisions a career. Therefore, it is being tested in several car racings. Of course, we have seen that with Need for Speed Pro Street. Therefore, cars will no longer be of utility models hyper-tweaked to become models of vehicles based on real life, but with specific capabilities for the race. All this, plus the fact that the project director, when not behind a desk at Electronic Arts, can be found behind the wheel of a racing car: Patrick Soderlund is also creative director of Need for Speed Shift and senior vice president of the European branch of Electronic Arts, a race car driver" Endurance, "where the limits of the cars are taken to the extreme with long-term events which require high performance and endurance.
How many cars? How is the plot? Yes, the pictures are beautiful, but in graphics "Forza 3" and "Gran Turismo 5" are masters. There is a certain preference of the public by this title because the other two already mentioned, but the fact is that - outside of the images and videos - there is still no detail at all. It is difficult to foster any hope for a long time in these conditions. For now, "shift" seems an upgraded version of Need for Speed Pro Street.

Sam Fisher. I've played all of his games and I have to say that Splinter Cell is one of my favorite franchises. I would love to play the next game on a next/current generation of consoles but it seems that Conviction is only available for the 360, too bad.

Anyway, there's a feature called All Time Greatest Hero, I think you all should have a look and pick your favorite. After voting and receiving an emblem, there's time to fill the brackets and pick the finalits. Also, there's an Image campaign kits where you can design your favotire. Details in this thread.I am a bit rusty with Photoshop but I did came up with these ones, I hope you like it and feel free to use them if you want, just send me a PM or post it in the comments section.

First of all, I apologize for the lack of updates from me. Probably one of the reasons is the Summer (temperatures arond 40 Degrees Celsius) I really can't think of better reason right now. I used to blog frequently but now I hardly can think in something interesting to blog. I hope I can pass this situation and get back to my normal activity in terms of blogs as soon as possible.
In terms of gaming, I've been playing a few games and I'm really surprised about the amount of games that I've been playing at once. I usually intend to focus on one single game at a time but probably because I have a few unfinished games, I thought it was a good idea.

If ever a red shell hit you in the back and felt persecuted by a Boo, or simply swallowed by a green dinosaur, the more likely it is that they have had two reactions. The first irritation. The second, after recovering the calm, the admiration for the genius of Nintendo that appears in the credits: Shigeru Miyamoto. But who is Shigeru Miyamoto?

"I love to make videogames. When I make them, I feel like a child again. This is my starting point."
In 1977, Shigeru Miyamoto had 24 years and was a student of industrial design at the School of Arts Hall in Kanazawa, Kyoto, Japan in 1998, Shigeru Miyamoto had sold two hundred and fifty million videogames worldwide and has established Nintendo at the place of honor in the ranking of companies in videogames. His first game for a console, Super Mario Bros., Sold over fifty million units worldwide. By way of comparison, the best-selling disc of all time, Thriller of Michael Jackson, comply with forty-seven million copies. Even before it was publicly criticized by some The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, he had more than three hundred fifty thousand paid reservations only in the United States. This same game was the most sold game of 1998 in the United States. Miyamoto has admirers among the most powerful men in the entertainment industry. George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Paul McCartney were on purpose to Kyoto to meet Miyamoto in person. It is universally admired within the industry. John Romero of Doom and Quake, has decided to call the star of one of their games (Daikatana) of Hiro Miyamoto.
In short, Shigeru Miyamoto is a star, even brighter than all the stars together that Mario already got in their games. He created so fabulous and innovative games that is very difficult, if not impossible to choose just one. Super Mario Bros. 3? The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time? Or the SNES version? Is Star Fox? Maybe Mario Kart? F-Zero? Mario 64? It is impossible to choose just one, but do not think they are unique, because even the most famous producers of games can not choose just one game of the genius Miyamoto. All their games were a huge success. In Donkey Kong, not only invented the platforms but also adopted the characters personalities, gave them life.
Despite the huge success of their games, only from them can know the person who Miyamoto is because little is known about him. One thing is certain, many hours working on Nintendo and is a person who never behaves like a super star that is no controversy in his life, he is simply Mr. Miyamoto. One of his biggest fans is Alex Garden, the head of Relic, the company responsible for the game Homeworld for PC. Despite their fanaticism knows so much about Miyamoto and the rest of the world, or little. According to him, this mystery is part of the charm. "It's an enigma to the press of the North American and European videogames," revealed Alex. "We know a lot of their games, but very little about him. It is somewhat uncommon, due to large amount of information we have at our disposal the most famous characters of our time and the natural curiosity of humans." And I fully agree with him. Now I will show you six theories to explain the secret of Miyamoto. Some may be correct, others may be wrong, but certainly help to separate fact from myth. What Miyamoto did to become the best and most respected producer of videogames?
Theory 1: Shigero Miyamoto is a character in videogamesFortunately it is not because who would produce the games? When asked about where Miyamoto gets the ideas for their games, he describes his childhood in the countryside, in Kansai. Explains his enthusiasm for exploring caves and the forests.
Who has played First Person Shooters, will certainly have loved to put their enemies traps such as pumps. But you know what? Miyamoto already did that for over 40 years. "When I went to school, put traps on the door of my room that never ceased to surprise my mother." Miyamoto had already a fertile imagination. "When I go to a new city, I like to walk alone by night, exploring its streets and its sounds," Miyamoto revealed. "Only when I know a bit more I do buy a map." I do not know if this reminds you a certain number there, but now I know why the Zelda series just got a map of each temple after a certain period of operation ...
Theory 2: Everything is casual
During the year 1977 someone pointed to Miyamoto some Nintendo workshops. Not by its spectacular progress in their work, but because the great friendship that united his father to the Nintendo's president, Hiroshi Yamauchi. It can draw two lessons. The first is that wedges are certainly important to get a job or a great opportunity to work. The second is that thanks to God that Miyamoto's father was president of Nintendo's friend and not another company, or video games or not. Now I ask you, but because the rays do not know my father the president of Nintendo? Okay, it was just a bubble. But still, after a conversation with Mr. Yamauchi, he offered a place in the company as "artist." And so I found that Nintendo has not needed an "artist" at the time, but got the job anyway.
Already in 1980, when Nintendo was placed on the market for machines for coins, Mr. Yamauchi called Miyamoto, and has been working with a producer in name Gump Yokoi. Miyamoto obviously had never produced a game in your life, but accepted the challenge. The result? Donkey Kong, a big revolution in the industry that has become instantly successful at the moment.

Theory 3: His world is just Nintendo
As has happened many times, Miyamoto simply will not have time to experience the game in question. The latest example was the new Ratchet & Clank, which Miyamoto said he had never heard of the game. But do not think it is being arrogant, he simply does not have any contact with the world than Nintendo, much that passes for many hours in the company, and numerous projects in which it works.
For example, if some of us had entered the offices of any company of videogames in 1996, certainly find a Nintendo 64 game with Super Mario 64 on the console. And obviously, the whole team was around the monitor taking notes, watching, admiring and probably see open mouths of the work of Miyamoto. Most Western producers will talk to their favorite games. In addition to that usually portray their works as "... has the best of ..." or "... always wanted to do a version of ...". Now see, try to describe a Miyamoto game of comparing it to games of other developers and see which is impossible. Pilotwings? It is a mixture between ... nothing. Mario Kart? It is a new version of ... nothing.
If there is the idea that Miyamoto does not show is the head or hear a game of competition, let alone try to take some of their ideas. Or, simply do not know that other developers on the planet. Which I doubt.
Theory 4: He knows our thoughts
The president of Shiny Entertaiment and father of Earthworm Jim, Dave Perry, who suspected "Miyamoto knows all the time what you think. When you think your behavior is intelligent, or do something unexpected, or you have it wrong ... "
Certainly those who have played their games have had that feeling. For example, in Super Mario Bros. When we go higher in the screen, run on the scores and counters ... then starts the fear. Miyamoto is not only to anticipate our moves, but also surprise us. Shoot, uselessly, against the face of Mario made in stone in Pilotwings 64... turns into Wario! How knew you were gonna do that? "We make games in which players try to do many things that have nothing to do with the main plot," explains Miyamoto. "The hidden secrets can lead the player to explore. The player must think: Here I see nothing, but there may be something, it is possible. If something is not expected, the satisfaction will be greater." Jump by apparently deserted areas in Super Mario Bros. 3 and appear to block anything that gives you access to new areas. Explore enough in Zelda and find a tunnel that will lead you to a secret cave. Remember, Miyamoto watches you.

Theory 5: It works in so many games that some of them will eventually be good
Since the release of Donkey Kong, around 1981, Shigeru Miyamoto designed, directed and produced over eighty games. Sometimes, Miyamoto can be charged with ten projects at the same time, can not be directly in the ten, or as a producer but as a supervisor. Gabe Newell, Valve's, acknowledged that "if we are working on multiple projects as did Half-Life, which would certainly crazy." Now imagine that the first Half-Life had been a failure, we would probably not heard most of them. Miyamoto is surrounded by an excellent team, which is mechanized with the ideas and how to work it.
But now I ask the question, do all Miyamoto's projects saw the light of day? The answer is no. To do this, back to the last days of the SNES, even before the project has started with Super Mario 64, Miyamoto has a 3D chip using the famous SNES's Super FX. Some believe that the idea did not work well. This is the big difference with Nintendo and its genius Miyamoto for other companies.
Theory 6: Miyamoto is Nintendo
Nintendo is one of the few companies in the world that prioritises the views of its producers rather than the marketing costs, once said Miyamoto. "It is fun working at Nintendo, because I do what I want." Even though it is.
Something which in my opinion it should be noted, is that Miyamoto never launches without a video it has the certainty that is completely finished. This policy of course Miyamoto may be frustrating for fans of their games. The whole world had to wait a year to get your hands on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, even before that, the Nintendo 64 console was delayed by a year due to the game Super Mario 64, since Miyamoto wanted to give you the final touches. But in the end, we had games of high quality . How many companies would not have launched the game incomplete? we have the recent example of Ubisoft with Red Steel for the Wii. His perfectionist attitude is possible that any game from Nintendo can be as perfect as could be. "The secret of the Super Mario series is that play and play and play again," Miyamoto said several times. Anyone disagree? "The most important factor is that players feel comfortable with the game. We must be in line with the players so that they feel able to control the characters through the controller. This is achieved with a complete integration of graphics, sound and gameplay, plus a perfect pace. "

So, I ended the theories about Miyamoto, of which we can conclude that the taste for Miyamoto on his work became a success of Nintendo, putting the company at the top, pushing the whole industry of videogames with their games and ideas . But this obsession with quality began around 1998 to cause a bad environment in the company. "I have the feeling that there is a little bad in the environment where Nintendo can not do something new." Miyamoto admitted to the Japanese magazine, The Japanese Dream, by that time. "We are changing to an organizational model that allows us to do new things. We are receiving new energy. I tell my team to the games from now that will require six months of work and selling a million units."
This idea really worked, bringing with it a total revolution in the entertainment market with the Nintendo DS and Wii. But imagine if this had nothing result, the continued bad environment? Miyamoto would have left Nintendo? If we are seeing is not very often that a producer is the same company for life. Can you imagine Miyamoto to follow the footsteps of Peter Molyneux, John Romero, Toby Gard and Paul Douglas? If he did, Nintendo survive without him? "Shigeru is Nintendo," said John Romero once. "It surprises me that has worked for so long keeping the bar as high quality of their games. If Shigeru leaves his job some day, its contribution to the world of videogames become a legend." Miyamoto Nintendo difficult to leave, since Nintendo's Miyamoto need because there is a whole team of programmers, graphic artists, musicians, designers, directors and producers who are fully accustomed to their work methods and thoughts. Despite its fantastic qualities, Miyamoto needs them. And for us fans of Nintendo and its games it would be unfair to leave the company.- Posted Aug 8, 2009 4:53 am PT

Platinum Trophy
Collect all other 50 Trophies for this Trophy
After a long journey(95 hours of gameplay) and a few bumps on the way, I finally got my 5th platinum(Fallout 3). I enjoyed it, however, it's not my kind of game. I was almost giving up with this one after some frustrations in the beginning of the game, but I think I've made the decision of giving one more chance. Eveyrone says wonderful things about the game, probably because of the deep and involving story, but for me it was a challenge because RPG's aren't my type. Not bad overall.

Some opinions are better than others.
Yesterday I received the TOP 500 emblem. Thanks to the GS staff and to all of you that recommend me. I had a small surprise when I realized that I've earned one of the most important emblems here at GS, in my opinion. I had a bad time finding the right review secret formula because of the language barrier, and probably I wasn't sure that I was reviewing properly. I was close to give up on reviewing games just for those small details. With some hard work and perseverance, I got it!!

Cosplay, short for "costume roleplay", is a type of performance art whose participants outfit themselves, with often-elaborate costumes and accessories, as a specific character or idea. Characters are usually sourced in various Japanese and East Asian media, including video games among others.

When is a whisky bottle not just a whisky bottle? When you manage to stuff a working computer inside it. This casemodder packed a Whisky bottle with an Intel P3 733EB processor, 256MB notebook RAM, 40GB hard drive, and 60W mini-ITX power supply unit. To solve cooling problems he drilled several holes at the side panel and glued an old VGA card cooler to the bottleneck.
Mountain Dew Setup

If you like the idea of having a Mountain Dew dispenser built in to your PC, check out the Dew Mod. Tyler Carlton took apart an old soda system and crammed it into a custom built case. On the inside, you'll find an AMD Athlon 4800+ X2 processor, 2GB of OCZ Platinum DDR 3200, Dual GeForce 7800 GTXs, WD Raptor 75GB 10,000 RPM hard drive, and a LiteScribe DVD-RW.

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well!!
First of all, let me thanks to the ones that helped in finding a way to Retrieve the Communication Relay Dish. I guess my English pulled me another prank.
The dish was in front of me all the time but I didn't see it. Also, I apologize for not liking Fallout 3. However, I started to like Fallout 3 after moving into the story and it was kinda interesting to play. Yesterday, I beat the main plot and I liked it, even tought RPG's aren't my type. I'm now moving to the side quests and trying to get a few trophies, I do want the Fallout 3 Platinum trophy in my collection.
But I have a feeling that I need to start another game tought, I think I've missed a few.Lastly, I'm using an online game guide... See you next time.

Battlefield Heroes, developed by the EA-owned DICE, very cleverly skirts around real-world conflicts - and the inevitable cloud of controversy which follows them - by giving players a World War II-inspired setting to play in. Here, the fictional National and Royal armies are at odds with one another. The art s-t-y-l-e has a distinctly "axis & allies" feel, with military greens and browns backed by a red, white and blue (and yellow) flag for the Nationals and greys/blacks with iron crosses for the Royals. The signifiers are familiar while avoiding any real-world references, allowing the global community of jaded gamers to happily accept what they're given without raising the specter of that oh-so-very-tired "another World War II shooter" argument.
The game is now in its beta testing phase, which will apparently be opening up to an increasing number of players in the coming months. Currently, users are able to create characters ("heroes," in the game), customize their appearance with a decent array of clothing and gear options and duke it out against the opposing army on one of two multiplayer maps. They can also activate up to three "missions," Achievement-like goals (such as kill five enemies in a row without dying), which earn Ability Points. Earned points can then be spent on purchasing and improving special abilities, each of which can be mapped to a numerical hotkey.

In its final form, Battlefield Heroes will feature a greater number of maps and an as-yet-undetailed overarching metagame, likely something to do with tracking the progress of the ongoing struggle between the National and Royal armies. Character customization will also be enhanced with a micro-transaction model which allows players to purchase - with real money - cosmetic upgrades for their heroes. I also expect (read: hope) to see a greater range of weapons and special abilities in the final game.
The basic format in Battlefield Heroes pits the two armies against each other, competing to control a series of strategically positioned flags on the map currently in play. The object is to deplete the other team's tickets by killing enemy soldiers; the number of tickets removed for each kill depends on how many flags are possessed by the killing team. Anyone familiar with the Conquest mode in DICE's other Battlefield games will find themselves in similar territory here.
Weapons can be switched and abilities activated by mapping each to numbers 0 through 9 on your keyboard. Each ****- the well-rounded soldier, the tank-like gunner and the stealthy commando - gets its own set of abilities to draw from. The commando, for example can activate Stealth mode and then prime the Piercing Shot ability for an unseen, powered-up sniper strike. The gunner, on the other hand, can activate an ability which temporarily nullifies any nearby enemy grenades. All abilities are subject to a cooldown timer when they are used, to balance things out.

Of the two currently available maps, one focuses on infantry combat and the other on vehicles. Players are never forced to drive of course, but sniper rifles are generally ineffective against tanks (planes and jeeps as well). The maps feature all manner of nooks and crannies for players to get tactical with, including a church steeple on the infantry-based level which makes a perfect sniper's (or rocket launcher markman's) roost.
The simple yet highly stylized visuals are instantly appealing, giving the whole game the feel of a light-hearted graphic novel in motion. Bugs are still being worked out - this is the beta, after all - so crashes and other technical hiccups occur with a fair amount of regularity. When a session is found and loads up properly however, the experience is smooth and remains relatively free of lag.
The Battlefield Heroes beta is definitely enough of a taste to suggest that good things are in store for EA's free-to-play shooter. The game offers an enjoyable paring-down of the larger console- and PC-based Battlefield experiences. With more still to be revealed about the metagame elements, pricing plans for the store and, as one rep suggested at the publisher's recent Studio Showcase, the possibility for player-created "missions," there is certainly plenty more about Battlefield Heroes in the coming months.
