Six Feet Under Season 3

I'm depressed about Six Feet Under. Right, that's not surprising. It's just it started out so great. Great characters, interesting setting, enough conflict to keep it edgy but enough humor to keep it entertaining. But not Season 3. I'm watching this on DVD, so that's as far as I've gotten. The season finale is just brutal. Nate's an alcoholic deadbeat dad, there's yucky anti-abortion politics, David goes back to his abusive lover.
