My GOTY for 2009
2009 has been a very good year for gamers. Even with must have titles, for me, God Of War III & Bioshock II being pushed back, I was very happy with the assortment of games this year. I missed several AAA titles this year, I'm just now starting Killzone 2, but played most of what I wanted to. Without further ado, here's my final 3:
Assassin's Creed 2: AC was a great game, novel concept, but horribly repetitive. Ubisoft fixed the problems from the first game, and made a stunningly good sequel. I truly could not stop playing this game until I beat it, I was that addicted. The character development is good, the cities look beautiful, and as the game progresses you become a true bad-ass assassin. It was the perfect length, and I truly couldn't think of anything bad to say about this game.
Batman AA: I bought this for my son for his 15th birthday, thinking it would be like most other "comic book" games and suck. After watching him for an hour or so I couldn't wait for him to go to bed and get my hands on it. AA captures everything that makes Batman a great character. I also think keeping it in AA, instead of a sandlot type game adds to the overall experience, you feel like your stuck/trapped in AA until you accomplish what needs to be done. It also does a great job of throwing in, however briefly, many villains Batman fans have loved for years. A truly great game.
Uncharted 2: Honestly Uncharted 1 didn't do much for me. It was just ok, but 2 sets the bar for what a game can be IMO. As close to an interactive, exciting movie as possible. I doubt Naughty Dog could have made it look any better, the cut-scenes are top notch, the story compelling and it moves along at near perfect pacing. Gameplay is much improved, and overall this is as much fun as I've had with a game in a very, very long time.
Honorable Mentions: Halo ODST (great re-boot of the series, and good atmosphere), RE5 (yes the sun took away from some of the "horror" of past RE's but still a great game), God of War Collection (my all-time two favorite games given the Blu-Ray treatment, looks great, and have me ready for III coming up.
And My Winner: Uncharted 2. All three were deserving IMO, but Uncharted was an utter masterpiece. Weeks later, I still can't think of a flaw in the game, and can't wait to start it over after the story is a little less fresh on my mind, a must own for anyone with a PS3. Well thanks for reading, hope you all enjoyed 2009, and so far 2010 looks to be great as well! Thanks,
Bryan

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays
Hello all, hope each and every one of you had a great Christmas, or whatever holiday you and your family were celebrating this time of year (thanks for the card Kel, loved it!). We had Christmas dinner for the first time at our house this year (always went to mom & dad's) and it was great being at home, instead of running around and around all day. The twins really grasped the concept of Santa this year, and were excited for nearly a week leading up to Christmas, and had a blast. Half their toys are still unopened, still playing with what they deemed they wanted to first. Brandt got too many clothes, and a PS GO, which, despite my reservations seems very cool. Got him all set up with the wi-fi, and he's loving it so far. I'm going to buy myself a GameCube (want to play the old SW games, Metroid, and a few others) and Gamestop has a great price on a used one, just haven't gotten around to getting it yet, lines too long. Other than that everything's great, no white Christmas, but we were very close, it's very cold, for no reason at all. GOTY thoughts coming up tonight or tomorrow. Everyone have a safe & Happy New Year!

It's Really Cold
Hello all, hope everyone is doing well. It's freaking freezing here, not like I'm sure some of you are used to, but for Central Arkansas 20's-30's nearly everyday with no snow stinks. Add to it I personally hate the cold, and now do a job outdoors, well I've been a bit crabby. Finally finished all of the great games I wanted to play this winter, and grabbed the God of War Collection the other day. GOW I & II are two of my favorite games I've played many, many times, but was very surprised at how great the upgrade of it to the PS3 looks. The cut scenes do look dated, but I could care less, having fun with an old, bloodthirsty, psychotic friend! Other than that everything's about the same. Looking forward to tomorrow night, Dexter season finalie of whats been a great season building slowly. If your a fan and saw it, the last 30 minutes of last weeks show were some of the best scenes in the shows history IMO. I'll be stoked tomorrow night, but sad I'll be without my favorite Sunday night activity for a year or so. Hope everyone's getting ready for Christmas, and take care!
