It's been a whole 2 weeks since I last bothered posting anything. There's no real reason just been really busy as I haven't had a lot of time between reading Friedrich Nietzsche, looking at and addressing peoples ideas about muslims and designing a level, all in between writing up and submitting content to mine and tofu-lions game blog.
To be honest I really could have not bothered with this blog I have nothing to say so all the purpose of this blog has served is a shameless plug of my own gaming blog. So here you are, I am alive.

I have finally managed to get my way through the infamous level 20, but then again I haven't really been here that much. The reason I haven't been here is that I have returned to college. Normally college isn't a bloggable topic, however I have just started a new and very interesting course. The course I have started is an extended project which gives you almost absolute freedom on what you want to do, so I will unveil my project to GameSpot.
Over the next few weeks I will be designing and building a level/map for a video game. I'm not sure what I want to build this, probably use the unrealED or source to build my map but I'm glad I've found something I can actually enjoy doing at college now. Apart from that the only thing that has really happened in my life is my computer breaking down. That is the home PC not my laptop which is fine, but it's kind of annoying as it means I can't really use the newest unreal engine for the level as it needs to have low enough system specs to be able to run on my laptop so I'm thinking I might end up just building at UT2004 map for my project.

This is the latest addition to the (Not) Richard and Judy Gamers Podcast, this week tofu-lion is away in Spain so she is absent from the podcast this week so it's just me and shaz14 this week. Anyway we are a day late but we have an extra long show this time so that kind of makes up for it.
So check the podcast here.
Please feel free to leave comments on the podcast.

Well I managed to actually venture outside the house today for what feels like the first time in ages. Not sure why I haven't really been out I just guess I haven't really had much to do. Anyway, my friend Ryan appeared earlier today and asked if I wanted to come down to the pub for a liquid lunch (aka. Pint of beer). Anyways whilst I was out I thought to venture into my local independant games retailer. I usually decide to go to an independant retailer as they usually hold some of the more interesting games and also in this case you can get some import games.
I picked up a copy of N+ which I have been really enjoying and have reviewed if anyone is interested in my thoughts upon this game along with Buzz master quiz as it seemed like a nice fun little game to be able to play whilst I'm at college which starts up again next week.
Anyway, I'm sure many of you know that I co-host a podcast (If you don't then you do now) and you may also know that the other main host has run off to Spain, however, don't worry the podcast will be going ahead as usual for your listening pleasure tomorrow as usual.

Well I haven't really been on GameSpot for the past couple of days, no apparent reason, just really can't be bothered. It's probably the idea of college looming over me, as well as nights sitting in the pub till 2am getting very, VERY drunk.
I have not done a great deal recently just been playing a whole bunch of games, managed to finish F.E.A.R, Tomb Raider 2 and Tomb Raider Legend. I currently am not planning to start up Tomb Raider 3 again as I have probably spent enough time with Lara Croft (although I am still going through Tomb Raider Anniversary). Obviously I am looking forward to Tomb Raider Underworld as I'm pretty much up-to-date on my Tomb Raider canon, both c1assic and new.
Anyway here's something I've been doing with my spare time whilst wondering what I want to play next. Any suggestions?

The Tomb Raider 2 cover is a simple ps1 to dvd cover conversion, but I made the strongbad cover all by myself!

Well today is the day when every college student collectively worries at the same time. Yes it is results day. I've just come back from picking up my results for my AS levels and I am quite pleased with them, much better than last year. So heres what I got:
Government and Politics: E
Philosophy: D
Religious Studies: D
Psychology: B
I am pleased with my results as I am not an A student and never really expected very high marks and seems as Psychology is what I really want to do I am very pleased with a B. Anyway, I think I've only got a few weeks before I start my final year of college.

Now onto games, I have been looking forward to Bionic Commando Rearmed for quite a while. In fact I'm much more interested in BC:Rearmed than I am about the new Bionic Commando. So I thought I'd get onto the PSN and download it but when I managed to get on the PSstore there was a noticable absence in the form of Bionic Commando. This is incredibly infuruating and I don't really understand why it has been delayed for the European store seems as it is already out on Xbox Live in Europe and the EU PSN is the only one that has been delayed. Anyway there's not much I can do about that so I guess I'll just finish up and start preparing for my final year of college (WellI say prepared but I mean just carry on playing the Bionic Commando Rearmed demo from the japanese PSN)

In my huge uncharted trophy mission I have been doing quite well until a couple of days ago where I hit a major wall, and if you've been following my blogs you'll know what I'm on about, and also if you've been following my blogs then go you! I have just managed to do that bit and I'm rather impressed, I used my usual method of ignoring it for a while so today after spending a bunch of time with tofu-lion (and recording our podcast) I came home and felt in a bit of an uncharted mood. On my third time (and using a variety of tactics as I wasn't really trying too hard to get it doe) I managed to get that ridiculously hard bit done, so I am creeping closer to that elusive platinum trophy, GO TEAM BRAINDEADAnd also go to the podcast! DO IT NOW!
Also as a side not I should just say I've been listening to arcade fire, have to say I am really enjoying them. I would definately recommend them.
EDIT: Well that's it for uncharted, it is complete and I am sitting smugly with a nice shiny platinum trophy, wow I fell much better and like I've truly achieved something.

Well, it's been almost a week since I posted my last blog, and mostly in that time I have really just been playing one thing: Uncharted Drakes Fortune

I'm sure anyone who is a PS3 owner will surely know the reason why I have been replaying this freaking awesome game, aside from its freaking awesomeness. Trophies. I am so into the trophy idea, and the 360 achievements but the lack of an xbox360 makes it kinda hard to get them, it just limits me to the 4 games for windows live titles. Anyway, I probably would have blogged about this sooner but I was busy trying my hardest to actually attain these trophies and now I am down to one last one left, and it's a toughie. Playing the game on crushing difficulty is ridiculous, most enemies take care of you in around 3 or 4 hits and there are quite a few who will hand out one shot kills on you, this is going to take forever, but I will do it and get that platinum trophy. It seems achievement whoring has officially hit PS3
(I know there are already 2 PSN titles with trophies so please don't point that out)

Well yesterday me and tofu-lion91 got down to doing our first podcast together, I am generally fairly pleased with the result, but then as with everyone who hears their voice recorded and played back to them, I've come to hate how I sound. Anyways, If you want to go check out my podcast, and you do want to, then follow this link.
Anyway last time I brought you some fairly bad adverts from the nintendo camp, so I thought as a treat I'd show you some of my favourate adverts.
This is one of my favourates, whilst this isn't really video game related it is a very good advert as it is memorable and does manage to get it's method across without trying to pound it into your head, if only more adverts were like this.
But not all adverts have to be super inventive or ave a huge budget, some can be just plain funny generally like Sony's dustballs campaign, whilst the campaign in general has some pretty bad adverts I fell this is one of the best.
Finally this is one that got banned, this is for the Microsoft Xbox360 which also uses a rather simple idea and also gets it's message across without trying to beat you over the head with it and whilst being funny in the process, not sure why it got banned, but kudos to you microsoft...

Well it's summer and very hot and apart from joining tofu-lion91 in a videoblog I haven't really achieved all that much. After such a long and lazy day watching TV and playing Tomb Raider 2 (Oh so old school) I saw a number of adverts for Guitar Hero: On Tour. In stead of going on about Guitar Hero I would rather talk about the actual advert itself, along with all the adverts designed by Nintendo Europe it's truly cringeworthy, whilst I currently can't find the video (I'll probably edit this when I do) I can show you a similar advert from NOE.
It seems Nintendo have a history of this, whilst wasting my time looking around at old adverts I managed to find one that made me facepalm with how patronising it is and how it alienates 50% of Nintendo's prospective audience in one fell swoop.
Other than being rather sexist it's probably not as bad as some of their other adverts however to round this off I've found a much earlier advert which I feel was rather amusing and certainly better than some of the newer ones so here, enjoy

The last major company to present at E3 was Sony. I should really point out before starting the rundown of the Sony Press Conference is that I ahve already covered the Microsoft and Nintendo conferences and they should be below this entry so please look at them and tell me what you think.
Sont had a very flashy opening, which really kind of set the tone for the entire presentation, lots of flashy things and no real content. It did look very nice and was obviously well rehearsed and vey well presented but there wasn't anything new shown, well they did show Resistance Retribution for PSP which no one had known about, but they really did not show very much at all. We all know Resistance 2 is coming and we all know it looks awesome, come on Sony, Microsoft came up with a huge announcement, surely you must have something, right?
One of the highlights of the Sony presentation was how they showed the boring sales figures. All the numbery stuff is usually the really tedious dull bit but showing it in LittleBigPlanet was a work of genius and really showed the creative nature of LittleBigPlanet and was a good way to build up the hype for that game.
One thing that really bugged be about the whole presentation was they did spend a bunch of time looking back to the history of PlayStation, Ok we know all about PlayStation by now you've been around for almost 15 years now and seems as E3 is all about NEW games why do we really need to focus like half an hour purely on the PlayStation 2, we know you like to support console till waaay into the next interations lifespan but to be honest most of us are looking towards the future of PlayStation 3 as there is serious competition coming for microsoft with the xbox 360 so how does focusing on a console that has already dominated and sales are starting to die down. Overall I feel that Sony's was possibly the best conference overall but still lacked any huge big WTF moment like Microsoft, so although MS really stole the show with FF13, Sony overall had the best press conference.

Well after Microsoft had their huge announcement Nintendo had the unenviable task of following it up, so surely Nintendo should show something incredible and mindblowing, right?
First of all who the hell is this Cammy person? I took an instant dislike, partly because of her voice, but also because of the feeling i got from her that she doesn't actually play the games, doesn't care for the games and has simply been given the book 'patronising girly games for girls' and doesn't understand that girls don't always want games based around ribbons and unicorns. Her whole patronising demeanour came out throughout the conference, it's as if she was talking to a bunch of children. Anyway enough talking about the wicked witch of the west.
I was moderately pleased to hear Nintendo talking, at the beginning of the conference to acknowledge the veteran gamer. This sounds like a good step towards having some more 'hardcore' gamer titles and a move away from just the casual almost gaming 'fad'. I was pretty hopeful, maybe too hopeful as throughout the conference we got teated to such delights(i use the term lightly) of Animal Crossing Wii, Wii Sports Resort and a new Guitar Hero DS. Not exactly what I'd call hardcore game, actually I'd go as far as to call these game pretty damn casual. The most hardcore game they had was GTA on the DS, which was mentioned in passing once, as if they're ashamed to be having a proper game on their console.

And we've been introduced to some new hardware. I'm sure by now if you've been getting all the various add ons to the Wii you must have a really cluttered room by now. We've got Wii Remote, Nuchuck, ****c controller, Wii Zapper, Wii Wheel, Wii balance board as well as a bunch of third party stuff like the guitar hero controllers and Rock Band controllers. This all begs the question that of the Wii Remote was supposed to be this excellent multipurpose controller, so why do they keep bringing out addons? Theres a Wii Motion Plus, which just adds better motion sensing capabilities, so if you think about it it's just adding some feature that really should have been there already but wasn't due to incompetence. So why should we have to pay for their incompetance?

Right the big 3 have all had their say at E3, so I guess it's time for everyone to pitch in with what they thought about it. I might as well do them in order that they were presented so here goes with a E3 conferences reviews.
Microsoft- Microsoft kicked off (after a little chat) showing some game footage. Things such as Fallout 3, which looks incredible, Fable 2, which also looks incredible and then Gears of War 2. I may get flamed for saying this but it is my opinion that gears of war has pretty much ruined any shooting game this generation. Don't get me wrong it's a very good game, but given the (little)amount of creativity other studios have they have all jumped to copy this game in every way possible and generally leaving all current gen shooters looking very brown. But that aside the game is a pretty solid shooter, nothing to wet yourself over.

I noticed througout the microsoft presentation that they have wholehearted taken up the idea of casual games (or jumped on the nintendo bandwagon) and also catered to this crowd and the whole online identity with their mii, erm, I mean avatar system (nintendo? bandwagon? anyone?) and the new user interface *cough*XMB*cough* microsoft really have taken to create a new innovative and totally derivative update this autumn.
However, that said at the end of the press conference was something that completely blew me away, Final Fantasy 13. I love final fantasy and to be honest it's pretty much THE reason I decided upon a PS3 over 360 and there it is going multiplat. I could have saved around £100 getting a 360, thats £100 worth of sweets (or 360 repairs) well seems as I'm probably not trading my console I guess Sony already have me but I'm getting a little disgruntled with how efficiently they carry out their customers wishes (only took 2years to get in game xmb and trophies as opposed to those xboxers who had it on day 1)

I have had an impossibly fun day. Spent today in Doncaster trawling around town with a stack of CV's looking for a job. Damn I hate trying to get a job but I really need the money. Oh well it wasn't all that bad whilst I was in town I managed to pick up a couple of games for PS1 as well as getting Uncharted: Drakes Fortune again. It is an awesome game that I just didn't spend enough time with last time round so I'm looking forward to going through it again but i haven't started yet as Sony have put up firmware 2.41 and Naughty Dog have promised trophy support some time during the future, so I might hold off playing through again whilst unlocking a bunch of PSN trophies. I'm not an achievement whore honest.
Anyway I might cut this short as I'm really really tired as I didn't get too much sleep last night and I've been trawling around town all day and I really need some sleep.

After a while sorting out myself and my personal life I have returned to GameSpot. Partly out of boredom and also prompted by the release of PS3 Firmware 2.40 and me finally getting a copy of CoD4. Anyway, I might as well tell you what you all already know and that it is awesome. Hope they will put trophies in sometime, but that doesn't seem likely. I was hoping to come back with a video blog but for some reason my webcam wasn't picking up sound so I can't really do that. Anyway, during my time away I've basically been doing a while bunch of college work but as tomorrow is my last day then I'll have a whole bunch of free time.
Recently I have been playing CoD4 obviously as well as lost planet: extreme condition as I saw it fairly cheap at the shops and decided to pick it up. My 100% GTA4 mission continues and I'm currently upto 87% so I'm not too far off now but I'm kinda hestitant to do the last push now as with the release of trophies and considering that GTA4 is a big title they are fairly likely to include trophies and if they're not retroactive then I am simply NOT 100%ing the game twice so I'll wait until trophies are either released or rockstar simply says they're not bothrering before I get that elusive 100% mark.

Also been playing Super Stardust HD which is a pretty fun and addictive game so I'm pretty pleased with that £5 purchase, I'm definately going for a bunch of trophies in there as they have already been added.
Anyway, thats my blog for the moment and hello everyone, I'm back!

I'm sorry to have to say this but due to the actions of some gamespot users I will be going on an indefinte break from GameSpot. It seems that I have lost all faith in some of the people who visit this website after questions about my personal life arose and caused me huge offense and caused a major depressive episode (for those who are unaware I am a dignosed manic depressive) so I will not be around for a while, dont know how long, could be weeks, could be months. Most of you have been great but there is a minority of users who spoil things for the rest of us here. So I'm handing over leadership of my union to tofu-lion (although I will remain as the official leader just in case I do feel the need to come back) and all union work is suspended.
Sad to be going. Hopefully I'll see you later.

Well I'm here to publicise another Union, this one I have set up myself and it's the General Gaming Commune. I don't really want to pester people on my friends list by sending out a bunch of union invites as it usually just goes irritating people who don't really want to be badgered and pestered all the time by loads of people sending yet another union invite. Anyway please give my union a look, it's the General Gaming Commune We're hoping to set up a great union where people can come together to play games and the vision is to have regular game nights as well as other features but in order to do that we need members. We also have an achievement system which rewards people for being active in the union, just like the Gamespot emblems we have our own ones. Normal blog service will be resumed sometime soon when I'll go back to talking about my everyday life so everyone can see just how boring I really am.- Posted Jun 8, 2008 3:09 pm PT

Just a quick little update to notify people that my review for Lego Indiana Jones has just been uploaded to gamespot so check it out it is a review for the Nintendo DS version of the game which I decided to get as the Lego Star Wars games were pretty enjoyable and Indiana Jones is awesome! Also, the Pokemon Challenge Union is now live so if anyone is interested please stop by as were trying to make it a really fun union and we're really trying to get some serious contributions. Also if anyone wants in on a general gaming union which I will be launching sometime soon please PM me to say your interested as there will be regular competitions and achivements and all those cool things as me and tofu-lion are attempting to reinvent the lost art of the union.

Just done my last exam today, I'm so pleased, no more studying for a while. I did surprisingly well given the minimal amount of studying that I had done. Anyway this means I need to get caught up on a whole bunch of reviews which I have been really neglecting. I was thinking I might have to put up a video blog quickly going over all those games I have played recently and completely failed to review. This means that I need to get my camera working and then actually be bothered to get down to recording it and that seems like an awful lot of work to me. I am so tired I really need to sleep so I'm not doing much of a blog just like the last few blogs I have done, I have got very lazy recently. Someday I'll have to come up with a vblog to catch up, but not right now, now is sleep time.

I have just got home after my short break in Newcastle and after all that travelling around I'm kind of glad to be home. I guess this means that I can take a break from all the blogging as I have given extensive coverage of what I've been upto. Had such a nice time in Newcaste, it's such a lovely place but when I got back into Doncaster it took about 30 seconds to get heckled by chavs, shows you something about Doncaster I think. Might as well say if you want to see pics from my trip I'll probably put them up soon but at the moment tofu-lion has a few on her blog so if your really want to see me and her with rolled up jeans head over to her blog. I'm currently really tire so I'm going to leave it there and maybe go on my PS3 as I have missed it these past few days.
