Daniels Little Voice of Reason

I love games!
dumdedum

Well not much going on recently however i have a bit of spare cash so have decided that now is the time to get those last few GBA games i missed out on. The two Legend of Zelda GBA games, Mario Party Advance and a few others. I must say that since the day i bought the GBA it has been nothing more then amazingly great fun and will for me be the one of the greatest gaming devices ever. Im glad that the DS has the GBA slot as it allows people who do not have the GBA to experience some amazing games. Not long now till Christmas and hopefully my Wii and i am really looking forward to playing it.

However, the new Wii will mean saying goodbye to the GameCube which will be sad. People could debate who won the last gen for days but to be honest i feel that we all won. By this i mean the Nintendo fans got what they wanted, the Microsoft fans got what they wanted and the Sony fans to. Being this age games played a suprising part in my life and helped me make friends and as much as i hated the PS2 i must admit it kept us all happy on those cold nights in my friends loft. I was the only one of my friends that bought the GameCube and i really do think they missed out on some amazing games and i do hope that they get Wii's and are able to pick up these modern classics. The Xbox also gave me some good times, i still remember getting it that christmas and enjoying the criminally underrated Oddworld: Munchs Oddysee. All in all last gen was my gen the one i will remember the way people look back at the old Nintendo vs Sega 16 bit gen with such fondness.

By the way i have just rated my entire collection, yup i was bored.

Happenings
Well hello one and all just a quick blog to say im starting on some new reviews. They will probably be a PSP, GBA, an xbox and a DS review. I'm just in the mood for writing some at the moment. Not much going on at the moment i fly back home for the holdiays on the 14th and not a lot else happening. I will hopefully return to see my super tv there in my gaming zone (see previous blog). Been playing a lot of Burnout Legends recently as well as my usual dose of Tetris DS. I saw some good things about the new Castlevania so that might be my next purchase before christmas. Not much of a blog there just a few things please comment!

New Life

Hello one and all

Im currently two weeks into what i refer to as my 'new life'. I recently took a look at my life and realised that my life isn't going the way i wanted and so rather then sitting around and complaining i decided to do something about it. Through out all of this i have realised that friends are like family to me. My three best friends Big Man Dan, Lauren and Charley mean the world to me and if i am honest i want something more with Charley. BMD and Lauren know exactly how i feel about her but i am still to scared to tell her how i feel, you see i can never handle rejection very well at all, and im scared of losing one of my best friends by telling her how i feel. So i have that on my mind as well as University applications, missing my family and homeland and the prospect of not being able to find a job back home.

But in brighter news in the last week 5 women have told me they love me i was so touched i almost cried! Two of them were Charley and Lauren as well as the wonderful Cheryl, Fay and Emily all good friends of mine. I know they meant it as love me as a friend but nothing boosts the confidence more then knowing women love to be around you.

Only 10 days till i head home for the holidays, while i am away i won't be able to get on Gamespot so i will be pretty inactive from the 14th of December till around the 6th of January.

Current profile views are 217 (+11) i know a lot of people have a lot more views but damn does it make me feel special knowing that that many people have had a little insight into my life.

Everyone have a good week at work, Daniel.

Some random bits

First of all its been another hectic week as far as college so i have been rather busy so aplogoies for not commenting every day. This is how my week went:

Check out www.teagames.com

Well first of all i checked my mail box to find an unusual envelope, i opened to find a first edition Black Sabbath Paranoid cd. This was great seeing as i have no idea where it came from. My address was hand written and i didn't recognise it. Two possible reasonings, a generous person felt like treating me or i have been mega stoned and while in this state accidently purchased the cd of ebay or something, however i never use ebay anymore so im confused. Oh well it was the last Ozzy Osbourne era Black Sabbath cd i had to buy so im happy.

Secondly u started my official application to Southampton Solent University, so far the signs are good especially as my amazingly brilliant tutor who i admire greatly has convinced her friend, the head of admissions, to ignore my less then brilliant maths grades. I will hopefully be studying for a degree in Tourism Management and then returning home to the Falklands to work.

After a very thought provoking blog by NeoJedi i realised that life is to short and decided its about time i got my love life going again. My relationship with this girl just didn't seem to be going anywhere and, seeing as id fallen for someone else whos more my kinda women, decided it was best if we split up. Suprisingly i wasn't as upset as i thought i would be. Now, i am well known for my sincere, sweet romantic side so will be using that to hopefully woo this new woman. Wow im excited about a woman again, to think a blog actually changed my life.

Now it is coming up to christmas and i will soon be repeating what i did last christmas and handing out £200 to those who REALLY need it. I could spend that money on a new Wii but well there are people out there starving at Christmas on the streets, struggling to support there families or dying in hospitals far from there loved ones and well if £50 can bring even a little joy at Christmas then it will be money well used.

Now i was on to my parents back home in the Falklands and they know how much i want a Wii so hopefully i will be getting one for Christmas but i don't mind if i don't im grateful for all the gifts i recieve at Christmas. January i should be buying the xbox360 as well which will look good on my new TV (currently on a ship in South Africa being transported home).

I recently picked up a few new games from a friend for £10 each, they include Burnout Legends, Need for Speed Most Wanted 5-1-0, Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and World Poker Series. I have only really played Need for Speed and World Poker Series in much detail but am enjoying all of them.

Next week im going to my first big UK gig seeing Power Metal bands DragonForce, All That Remains and FireWind so am looking forward to that a lot. Its at the Southampton Guild Hall which i heard is a great venue, however, i doubt the gig will match the intensity and passion of the many i have seen in Latin America.

Went on a Amazon shopping spree recently and bought a lot of cd's mostly heavy metal and country. I tend to appreciate a lot of musical genres from classic rock to heavy metal, death metal to country and punk to folk music as long as it has guitars i generally like it.

I hope all the American GS's had a great thanks giving, hopefully that horrible turkey emblem will be temoarary as personally i hate it.

Quite a long blog about nothing in particular so if you read down to here well done. Till nxt time, Daniel.

Important thoughts
!0 days ago was Rememberance Day here in the UK and it reminded me of those who dies to free my country, the Falkland Islands, almost 25 years ago. It also reminded me of the brutal economic war Argentina is continuing to fight. The Falklands have a population of 2,500 people yup  two thousand five hundred and yet we still refuse to submit to the Argentines and we never shall. So long live the Falklands and lets remmeber the British who rescued us 25 years ago.

and now something completely different....

Okay first of all id like to clear up a few thing about yesterdays blog. First of all i in no way at all condone the hate the reviewer recieved for the controversial LoZ:TP score in fact i respect him for not being afraid to make a clearly controversial decisions. I also do not believe every critisism he made was irrelevant i simply believe that he was overly harsh on the sound rating and possibly the evolution of the series comments. Like i said yesterday i simply believe that another reviewer, who was less outspoken about his opinion on the wii may have been more appropriate. I agree 100% with those who say to ignore the scores and just enjoy it. Apologies to anyone who was p!ssed at having to read the same blog a million times. Oh and for the record i agreed 100% with the Red Steel review.

Anyways onto something else, its not long now till Wii and Xbox 360 time been waiting a looong time for both of these. Im getting a wii at launch and an xbox 360 early January and i must say i am super hyped. I have also just made the most expensive purchase of my life. A massive 52 inch HDTV (http://audiovisual.kelkoo.co.uk/b/a/sbs/100311823/17275902.html) its being shipped home as we speak to my room back home. Some may call me spoilt but i paid for this beast by myself by working every spare moment i had. Im also about to order a great sorround sound system to go with it. Overall i think although pricey that this is really worth it especially when i get the games running on it.

Thanks for reading and further apologies to anyone who was  p!ssed of with yesterdays blog.
