Everything has gone from 1999 Mode to out of control Social-Links again

Seem like almost every week I get thrown into a funny or sticky situation, first off had an interview for a Business Admin Aprrentice for a job at Newcastle College which was last week, the interview went well but it turns out that I didn't it but least I've had another interview and a few tips for next time. When I went to The Last of Us lock-in event last week been getting awesome comments and gaming related questions you can check my blog on that here- The Last of Us- Early Demo Impressions really tempted to get the game on day of release but trying to save up as it is. I do have Animal Crossing (3DS) on pre-order and plus it was quite cheap to get on ShopTo plus there's even an Animal Crossing Launch event in Newcastle on the 15th June which will be fun.

    8637862566_1829c19251_z.jpg

Plus ordered a ticket for North East Retro Gaming at the end of June which will be at Gateshead June 29th and 30th, and ordered a ticket for ONECon which is in Middlesborough on August 24th and 25th. I even found out that there is an Anime event/mini-con on my birthday in July which actully an awesome idea which is July 22nd for me but then again I don't want that day to come because I don't wanna be old

    kingdom-hearts-hd-header.jpg

And in Septmeber there's going to be a 2-day event on a Sherlock Convention this was actully the best news I heard last Sunday through Facebook, but the worst part is that the convention is going to be around the same time as Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix is released, thats even worse can't I do both?

Beaten BioShock Infinite last week and I loved every moment about that game plus Elizabeth made me going back for more. Even tough I don't play FPS games that often but BioShock was nothing but fun and even made me do this quick doodle drawing I'e done-

Playing the game again on 1999 Mode which is a challenge, you can also check out my review here- http://uk.gamespot.com/bioshock-infinite/user-reviews/811535/platform/ps3/

Beaten Ni No Kuni (PS3) today the final boss was a pain of chaos, also cleared the main story on Persona 4 Arena (PS3) and played a few online matches with a few of my friends. Speaking of Persona me and a friend are planning on organising Persona meet-ups which will happen very soon since Anime/Cosplay meets are getting bigger and bigger on the number of people turn up every weekend for an Anime meet-up. There's always a meet for Hetalia fans, Homestuck and My Little Pony fans, why can't there be a Persona meet-up group? Thats what my friend and I are hoping to do once we got everything sorted that is.

Hope you've enjoyed reading my crazy based on what my last few weeks have been like

Xbox One its taken 359 steps back

If you've read my last blog based on its past, present and future about Microsoft Xbox over the past 10 years now you can check out my last blog here- The Box is in another box

    XboxD_Logo_Consle_Sensr_controller_F_Gre

With everyone watching the live coverage of Microsoft's newest console which turns out it wasn't the Xbox 720 or a handheld device nope its actually in fact called Xbox One. I've watched the live stream through Gamespot when I was watching the coverage you would expect they show some of the newest games for launch which they did in the end and there were a few odd surprises and WTF moments.

The first mentioned about Xbox Kinect which I'm guessing that no one really cared about it on the Xbox 360; they did mention that this version on Xbox One would improve its systems and your body's movement. They also mentioned that's all in one package for the console which does look like a VHS machine on the size if you think about it but it won't play games on VHS tapes; kidding in that part. Microsoft said that you can watch and flip through TV channels with voice you can easily say "Xbox Sports" or "Xbox Channel 3" if it access all channels for Xbox One most people are ending up going to say "Xbox Porno" but I doubt that'll happen but there will be internet references on the Xbox sayings including this one I've just made within 10 minutes on Photoshop-

Then there was more info from EA sports with the likes of Fifa and NFL, then they started showing off a few games including Forza Motorsports 5 and the next Call of Duty game. A surprising moment was when Steven Spielberg was working on a TV series based on Halo for the system; this might turn out to be interesting. This will also allow you to play Blu-ray DVDs and also access to Skype, the downside like the Playstation 4 it will not have a backward compatibly if you wanted to play your favourite 360 games on Xbox One there have been rumours online that you can purchase games online to play them on the console.

There will be more info at next months E3 and Microsoft have announced that it'll be released sometime at the end of this year, so does the Xbox One catch your attention or will you be better off keeping your current consoles?

The Box is in another box

With Microsoft announcing their new this Tuesday (May 21st) we ask ourselves what's in this box?

    mysterybox.png

Most likely they'll announce their new console which is likely the Xbox 720 which I'm guessing which will be the likeliest name or possibly a handheld device maybe. Over the past 10 years Microsoft's Xbox console has done pretty well since 2001 with its launch in the US and then slowly selling more systems across the world soon after in 2002.

    Xbox_Console.jpg

Back in 1998 four engineers from Microsofts DirectX, Kevin Bachus, Seamus Blackley, Ted Hase and DirectX team leader Otto Berkes, disassembled some Dell laptop computers to construct a prototype Microsoft Windows-based video game console. They did hope it would compete well with Sonys upcoming Playstation 2 around that time. The original name was going to be called DirectX box but the name was shorten due to many people not likening the name for it and then changed it to Xbox which we all know from today. It was actually the first Microsoft video game console after collaborating with Sega to port Windows CE to port the Sega Dreamcast. Microsoft did delay the console quite a few times during 1999 and 2000 but it made its official release on November 15th 2001 with a solid line up of games in the US including-

    • Halo Combat Evolved
    • Dead or Alive 3
    • Amped
    • Project Gotham Racing
    • Oddworld Munch's Oddysee
    • Fuzion Frenzy

The controller looked a little different from other consoles but they changed the design of the controller soon after 2002 making it feel a little easier to use for playing games. Xbox also let you rip music from CD's and then keeping them saved on your console, meaning that you could play your favourite music while playing games which was actually quite a good idea but that only worked on a selected amount of games. It also played DVD's you put a USB chip in one of the controller ports and then you would be able to watch DVD's with the Xbox remote.

    halo-1.jpg

"One of the many reasons, Xbox sold really well over the years"

One of the biggest games that made the Xbox sell really and it was also had online which was called Xbox Live where you could play online with your friends. And one of the biggest sequel launches and over a million players played online which was Halo 2 back in 2004, it may have had a disappointing ending but its multiplayer was the strongest point. Over in Japan it wasn't selling well and wasn't that popular unlike the Playstation 2 but in the US and Europe it was still selling well on its sales.

    Xbox360PriceCuts.jpg

During November and December 2005 Microsoft released its second console which was the Xbox 360, still competing with the Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii as of from now, the 360 has had some up and down moments on its consoles including its great line up of games like Halo 3 and Call of Duty. But there have been some downhill moments including its Red-Ring of Death and the Xbox Kinect not recognising your voice or moments on a certain amount of games that were released for it. It still had its strong online multiplayer and its DVD/Music which you could still use and a compatibility system which let you play a few Xbox games on a 360 console.

With E3 2013 on its way and of course Microsofts announcement on Tuesday what will be the future for the Xbox? Will it still stay strong with an iron fist or will it slowly go downhill?
