Broken glass everywhere, in all directions...
No place to step, but to step on the broken glass,
letting the blood fall... letting pain seep through my
skin.. No one there to help me... just leaving
me there... Just like being left in the darkness...
falling... falling faster and faster.. no one there
to catch me... no one there to hold me.. just falling..
like an angel with her wings torn...

Prologues to Two Continuations of Ashes.
So, a couple of weeks ago I started writing the second book (I don't have a title yet. I want either Knights of Old(e) (I don't know if I want the e or not) or just have it as Knights), and last night I started working on my third book i.l.l.:Iliad Lethe Lionhart. I will be working on both books around the same time, switching between the second and third, depending which one I'm having writer's block with. I know what I want with Knights (Working Title), so it won't be hard to keep both consistent. They are in different perspectives as well (especially from the first). I am also posting the first five pages of Ashes on Enigma Inklings. Here's the two prologues:
Knights (Working Title):
Prologue
Darkness...
A fool's reality.
Nothing comes better from it, but the hell that devours everything in its path. War fills the earth, fighting over nothing; only out of abhor, envy, greed, and revenge will Death come with destruction and rebirthing...
A fool's pity from Life and Death.
Nothing good comes from it, except, however, the lives that you hold dearest to you.
Signed,
Gawain Lionhart
(Disclaimer: I don't know if I'm going to keep the "signed" part or not. On paper, I don't have it, but on the MS document, I do. I don't know if it'll remain or not, but for now, it'll stay.)
i.l.l.
Iliad Lethe Lionhart:
Prologue
Silence is given. Yet, when one needs to speak, the words are not provided, nor spoken. It creates a downfall and animosity; many wonder why people treat those that are half-breeds as vile beasts when it is known. Destruction is created and the remnants are provided to the naked eye for many years to come. However, when the words are needed to be spoken, no one will speak them?
Is it the fear?-the ostracism?
Hatred is a strong thing that many teach their children and their children's children until it is known that neither of them knows the true reason for their hatred or why one is hated for being a half-breed.
Although the hatred is meant for them, it carries on to the child of a half-breed and treated worse. But of all things, there is nothing ill about them.
If that is so...then why am I considered an ill thing-an ill-omen...?
Iliad Lethe Lionhart
(I.l.l.)The reason why I am going to be posting the first five pages of Ashes on an external blog is because that's going to be where I talk the most about my writings and such. However, it may or may not be on there for long, so do not worry, I'll show you guys the first five pages here as well.
Ashes:
Prologue
Days, months, years, even average time goes by. As it does such, things change slowly, unlike time itself. Eventually, the land starts to change: trees grow taller, mountains start to erode, plants grow or die, and then the decaying carcasses of animals or humans-even other once living creatures-give the Earth its nutrients that it needs to keep things alive.
However, during the years, people-sometimes animals too-die in war. Those who become unfortunate during the war are either left behind by his fellow warriors or are sometimes buried or burned in their honor. When they do burn or bury the dead soldiers, it is out of pride and respect, knowing that the deceased had done their duty...
Now imagine life being different-hideously peaceful-but then a raging war breaks out. Death waits at your feet, telling you to let go of any hopes of survival and go with it to a painless place. Would you go with Death or fight for your life, even if you're in pain?
What if you were captured?
Would you become a slave?
Or let Death take you?
If you became a slave, would you run away?
Or let them torture you?
Or give you death?
If you were a runaway slave, would you change your name and hide your true identity?
Or just keep running?
What if you found a knight that you met on the night of your people's slaughter and your enslavement?
Would you avoid him?
Or befriend him?
If he told you to tell him the truth, would you or would you not tell him?
If he told you that he loved you, would you tell him your feelings for him as well?
Or leave him behind as you live alone and in the darkness?
If fate could be so easy to change, then why when one tries, one can never change one's fate?

Enslavement

IRain poured heavily on to the soldiers as the war continued on. The stench of death and blood hung in the air. Some soldiers continued to fight to gain whatever they were after, as others were at their very end on the ground, in their own pool of blood. The ground became muddy with the rain and blood of the soldiers as they raced for the victory that was nearly in their grasp. Armor and weapons clashed against each other, the war raging on. Swords, axes, and halberds dripped with blood as soldiers, one by one, continued to fall to their graveless endings. Thunder roared with the lightning flashing through the twilight sky.
As nightfall approached the skies, archers took haste from both sides and raised their bows, and shot fiery arrows into the sky. As the fiery arrows poured from the sky to take what was given to them with the rain, the soldiers lifted their shields over their heads to protect themselves. However, some of the soldiers were far too late and the arrows had thrust themselves into the warriors with such greediness needs. Screams of excruciating agony could be heard through the area as more fell to the ground. Some had the will to go further when they ripped the arrows from of their bodies. Others... died too quickly from being hit in the vital regions, or had loss too much blood to go on.
It continued like this as midnight approached and the stars became visible with the moon; the rain ceasing, more soldiers plummeted to their death. At least fifty men were lying on the ground wounded, dead or close to being dead. Death had visited the unfortunates, not giving them a chance to say goodbye to their families like they had wanted to in time like these. More burning arrows were shot into the skies, making them more visible to the villages nearby.
I was traumatized by this war. So much blood and gore...I couldn't watch it anymore. My stomach twisted and wretched in freedom as I tried to focus on something else besides the event, but everything I saw was war-related.
Everything.
Most people believed I was too young to know about war and tried to keep everything about it a secret from me. However, no matter how many people tried, I still found out. For the past year, it continued to rage on like this between the two kingdoms fighting over the precious land my village was built on. I even lost my father to this corrupted war. The only thing protecting my village had been the forest we lived in. Unfortunately, we knew that it wouldn't protect us for long.
...Especially when the humans found out.
Taking me away from my thoughts, I heard a distant roar and a foul smell hit my nostrils, as I started becoming light-headed. I looked to my left, seeing a burning sphere made out of metal flying through the sky. It crashed down on their enemy's foot soldiers, impaling most of them to the ground with flesh and muscle torn into shreds. I heard terrifying screams of agony as I saw some of the soldiers burning alive with their stench eating away at my nostrils, and twisting my stomach endlessly.
Even though the war was about fifty feet away from where I stood, I could feel the heat from the fire on my skin licking away in hunger. With astonishment in my eyes, I saw the soldiers from the east retreat. However, the men from the west didn't seem satisfied enough by the murderous cries of agony and destruction. They launched another set of arrows, burning the pitch black sky, at the fleeting men as they loaded the catapult in an attempt to end them.

A few things.
A few things I have been doing:
-I have been thinking about another blog outside of GS. I did have with wordpress, but I'm not happy with it, so I'm going with google (blogger.com). I want a place where I can post about my writings and such besides here, plus it would come in handy if I become published and all.

-I have been working on two book ideas that I've been thinking of; one is a continuation of Ashes and the other one is about a vampire/shape-shifter war in Africa (don't ask). I'm not sure which I'll do first, thogh I may do both at the same time, depending on which one I'm in the mood to write.
-I haven't really felt like playing FFIX lately. I don't know what game I want to play, but I really want to play FFIX. I just might pick up again and play some more later today, I don't know though.
-I finished my query and sent it to a couple of literary agents. Now I'm just waiting for a response, so we'll see how that goes.
That's pretty much it.
The new blog is Enigma Inklings. I was trying to come up with a name that would go well with my writings, but I couldn't think of anything, so my friend came up with Dark Inklings (which was available at the time; I don't know if it still is). I liked it, but I wanted something more, so I thought about it and thought of Enigma Inklings and we both agreed that it fit well together, so there you go.
That's how the name came to be.I'm not going to abandon this blog--I have no reason to. Just...some things might be more violent for GS in my writings or there might be swearing, so I gotta put it somewhere if I ever decide to put it up, you know? Gotta follow those rules, especially being a moderator and all.

Someone suggested that I show a few snippets of my book as a "teaser". I'm thinking about it, but I'm not sure if I'm going to. Will have to find out and see what happens.
Poedon, there might be signed copies, I don't know. xD Will have to wait and see when it happens.

Complete
Yesterday early morning, I finished writing my book. It is complete now and it really hasn't set in that I'm done working on it. I keep wanting to write, but I go back to do so, only to find out that I am completely done. So now I'm going to be working on writing my query that I have to write so I can pitch my book to literary agents (I already found quite a few). In the mean time, I'll be able to work on playing video games (I have quite a few that I need to finish). I already finished MGS3 a few days ago, so now I'm on FFIX.
In MGS3, I was told that I wasn't going to be able to beat the final boss the first time around. >_> Thanks MAILER_DAEMON for having confidence in me. He was wrong though.
I beat the final boss the first time around, and the fight wasn't even really that hard.
It was pretty hard to find him/her because it was white and when the final boss is wearing white, it becomes a bit difficult. x_x Nonetheless though, I finished the game and so now I'm on to playing FFIX again.
I need to finish playing it, but I restarted so I can enjoy the ending more than just beating it. I don't know what game I'll be working on next once I beat it, but I have quite a few that I still need to play. xDBesides that, I'm just working on finding a literary agent and going to be writing some more soon (yes, more books to write). I have a few ideas of what I want to write next, but I also want to write a second book to Ashes. For now though, I think I'm going to play around with another idea I have had for a month now. Then again, I may go to another book idea that I had for at least a year. I haven't quite decided yet.
We'll see what happens from here. It may be of vampires fighting shape-shifters in Africa (>__> what? I got the idea from watching The Lion King, okay?) or it may be of a girl name Urban Grey.
Or maybe a psychotic cannibal!
Will have to wait and see.
