Work; Life; Games; More
Well, Gamespot. It's been a while.
Since this is my first blog post in 6-8 months, I think I'll start with a little recap.
I scored a job working for ESS at Granny Smith Gold Mine, just outside of Laverton in WA. Working 2 weeks on, 1 week off. Luckily for me, they have Telstra reception out here, so I can get wireless internet here in my room.
I've been doing alot of gaming in my weeks off. I don't really have any commitments in Perth to maintain anymore, so I find myself being increasingly sedentary when I'm at home. Not that this is a bad thing, as the idea of Rest and Relaxation weeks is to Rest and Relax.
I started taking guitar lessons again, prior to me working away. I've been playing now for 10 years, but without proper tutelage I found that I wasn't getting any better. It's a shame too. I actually quite enjoyed the lessons, but with only being around for 1 week out 3, and little time to practice, made it difficult.
More recently, I've been playing alot of Modern Warfare 2 online (XBL, GT Global Axearmor, if you're interested), Red Dead Redemption (and who hasn't been playing this) and Final Fantasy 13. I made the mistake of purchasing Alan Wake. Good story, but I thought the gameplay was a bit poor. Don't bring up the atmosphere either. The constant darkness is more annoying than mood setting, and the game's hardly what you'd call scary. Condemned is scary. Alan Wake is not.
Ok. I should probably take a break from this now. I'm meant to be asleep. Enjoy the day, more to come. I'm making a comeback

Matthew Perry Injures Hands From Playing Too Much Computer Games
Matthew Perry injured himself playing computer games. The former "Friends" star spends so much time playing violent games he had to go to hospital to have steroid injections in his hand - a common treatment for tendonitis, which is when tendons become inflamed and painful.

The 39-year-old actor said: "I play a lot of video games. I play a lot of Xbox 360. I played 'Fallout 3' so often I had to go get injections in my hand!"
Matthew is currently single and says any potential girlfriends would have to share his gaming obsession.
He said: "She would have to be a video game player, for sure."
In one episode of "Friends" Matthew's character Chandler Bing damaged his hand playing arcade game 'Ms. Pac-Man' while attempting to get the highest score.
Matthew can currently be seen starring with "High School Musical" heartthrob Zac Efron in new age swap comedy
-----------------
There you have it folks, proof that violent games are damaging to us. Only violent games though, Viva Pinata is fine, we don't need steroid injections if we play that waaay too much.

An Update!
I was just down at Jb-Hifi and they are selling copies of Midnight Club: LA for ~$50.00, so I picked one up. I haven't really gotten into it yet, but it seems pretty cool from what I've seen so far.
