Presenting Puppet's Blog

Boldly going where no man has gone before!

  • 15Jan 09

Just a quick update since it's ben a long time (again). I've been watching a few shows even though I've been really busy with school and such. Right now I'm rewatching Dexter season one just for fun and I started a good show, Mad Men, based on suggestions from a bunch of friends; I'm about half way through season one of that. Tomorrow is the first of the last 10 BSG episodes, so I can't wait for that =S, and then of course next week is the night episode premiere of Lost so hopefully I'll be back to talk about my thoughts on everything that happens soon.

    Peace, atv

    This was a triumph.
    I'm making a note here:
    HUGE SUCCESS.
    It's hard to overstate
    my satisfaction.
    Aperture Science
    We do what we must
    because we can.
For the good of all of us.
Except the ones who are dead.
    But there's no sense crying
    over every mistake.
    You just keep on trying
till you run out of cake.
    And the Science gets done.
And you make a neat gun.
    For the people who are
    still alive.

    I'm not even angry.
I'm being so sincere right now.
Even though you broke my heart.
    And killed me.
    And tore me to pieces.
And threw every piece into a fire.
As they burned it hurt because
I was so happy for you!
    Now these points of data
    make a beautiful line.
    And we're out of beta.
    We're releasing on time.
So I'm GLaD. I got burned.
Think of all the things we learned
    for the people who are
    still alive.

    Go ahead and leave me.
I think i prefer to stay inside.
    maybe you'll find someone else
    to help you.
    maybe Black Mesa...
THAT WAS A JOKE, HA HA, FAT CHANCE.
    Anyway this cake is great.
    It's so delicious and moist
look at me still talking when theres science to do
    when i look out there
it makes me glad I'm not you
    i've experiments to run
there is research to be done
    on the people who are
    still alive.

and believe me I am still alive
I'm doing science and I'm still alive
i feel fantastic and I'm still alive
while your dying ill be still alive
and when your dead i will be still alive
    still alive

Just a short blog with my favorite Christmas song.
    __________________________________________

    Christmas time is here
    Happiness and cheer
Fun for all that children call
    Their favorite time of year

    Snowflakes in the air
    Carols everywhere
    Olden times and ancient rhymes
Of love and dreams to share

    Sleigh bells in the air
    Beauty everywhere
    Yuletide by the fireside
    And joyful memories there

    Christmas time is here
    We'll be drawing near
Oh, that we could always see
    Such spirit through the year
Oh, that we could always see
    Such spirit through the year...

Merry Chirstmas Everyone! Hope it's a good one.

Editor for a Show - Tin Man

After a ton of hardwork and determaination (and almost getting a tos for submiting too much at one time) I became editor for Tin Man this week. I really loved this miniseries and I hope that Sc-Fi channel continues the story someway. Right now I'm getting a good amount of people submitting information to it (more than I've ever gotten with my people) but I think that I pretty much covered all the good quotes in my sweep through. That doesn't mean I wont take a look at any quotes you submit I'm open to anytyhing that comes my way. If you haven't seen Tin Man yet it's going to be on again tonight at 5:00 PM. You might aswell set you DVRs.

Maybe it's the sweet little smile and the cute eyes, or maybe it's the slow movement of his head back and forth that, or maybe even that awesome birthmark on his chest, I don't know what makes my avatar so awesome, but I know that it's gonna stay. Practically everyone voted for me to keep my avatar in the last blog. What can I say he's irresistible.

The battle for which avatar I will use begins and you decide.

    __________________________________________

Currently Watching - Pushing Daisies. I've been catching up with the episodes online.
    __________________________________________

    Pick My Avatar!

Here are the choices. Comment in the blog the letter of which avatar you think I should use. In the end, I will use the one with the most votes.

    A.

Well since I told you I'm watching Pushing Daisies I guess I should put an avatar of the show in the vote. This is also the avatar I currently have a JD's (Sleeptight's) site, City of Angels.

    B.

I always like Xander in Buffy, and when I got the comic book I loved how he was sporting still sporting awesome eye-patch. This avatar could match my Xander sig too.

    C.

And then there's kitty Hiro. The cute version of the Heroes character, Hiro, from the online graphic novel. I couldn't resist cropping a picture from the comic into an avatar. Can you resist him?

    D.

If you are smacking your head against the keyboard with the thought of me getting rid of my puppet avatar trademark, so here is this choice, and that is to keep the avatar I have now.

    __________________________________________

    So here are your options

    A. Ned and Chuck - Pushing Daisies
    B. Eye-patch Xander - Buffy the Vampire Slayer
    C. Kitty Hiro - Heroes
    D. Keep the one you have

Last night the Sci-Fi channel mini-series Tin Man aired. It lived up to my expectations how about yours? We'll see what else airs from Tin Man this week on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Also tonight is the fall finale of Heroes. Which two heroes will die? Will the ending be rewarding? Discuss!

    Tin Man "Parts 1 - 3"Discussion

Last night I watch an hour and a half of the two hour episode (with limited commercials too) of Time Man; I would have kept on watching it if it wasn't for school the next morning. The show had a clever way of making each of the characters unique and different but still keeping them to the base of the original character in the L. Frank Baum novel. Glitch is a man that had his brain taken away by the government because he was a genuis, Wyatt "Tin Man" Cain the sort-of bodyguard of the group, a retired cop that joined the resistance and lost his family because of it, and Raw a viewer with telepathic and healing abilites. They resemble Oz's Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion. No Toto though. I think the story is really great and even though we know the final resolution I am sure there will be twists along the way. And lastly DG the Dorothy Gale character, and lead. So what did you think of the first part? I still have to finish it tonight. I really enjoyed it since I am an Oz fan myself. I hope it keeps on getting better.

    Heroes "Powerless" Discussion

I don't know everyone's opinionson the second season of Heroes, but I haven't been too happy with the way things have played out. They added seemingly pointless characters like Maya, and turned Sylar, Peter, and Hiro into a laughing stock (no powers, no memory... oh wait Hiro was already one). Nathan has had virtually no screen time and Niki developed another personallity (WHY WHY WHY). DL was never even mentioned until halfway through and Bob was just a pain in the butt. But this season hasn't been that bad. The past three weeks the show seems to be getting better, but this week will be the last one for a while (since Origins wont be on). First off, what have you though about the events that have happened this season? I know there are a lot of diehard fans that just love Heroes no matter what but, to me, you have to see a show's faults to be a real fan. I am going to watch it tonight and I wont stop watching it until it ends, I just think it could be better. Maybe this finale will help develope what may be a perfect third season.

    Super Mario Galaxy Mini-update

So last week was the week. I collected all 120 as Mario and was happy for about four seconds. And then I found out I had to redo the whole game as Luigi >_>. I know some people said that it was really easy, but there were some galaxy that I had loads of trouble with. The most challenging part of the game is the comets that appear making galaxies harder or asking you do certain task. The Purple Comets were the worst. I'm afraid of going back to some of those stars. Currently I have about 65 stars with Luigi so thats a good halfway through. More updates when I get farther and a rewview after this whole mess is finished.

    Jericho Season Dos

If you don't hate tv (if you do what are you doing on tv.com), live under a rock, or can't be you know whated to read the news then you probably know that the writer strike has been effecting pretty much every show on American televsion (24 to start late, Heroes only 11 episodes, Lost who knows how many episodes). All but Jericho that is. The writers of Jericho apparently already finished their seven episode second season that was given to us after we sent nuts to CBS's doorstep. I'm not sure about the production of the season but since all the episodes have been written it seems that the writer's strike will only affect Jericho positivily. This is becasue most of the shows we watch will be on their haitus or already ended for the year meaning Jericho may be potentially one of the few shows airing new episodes. The fans hope that this will help the ratings increase (and the fact that this season is going to be darker helps) and hopefully allow a full third season to air next year. Go Jericho!

    So how was your break?

Gobble gobble. All yourAmericans reading are probably still feeling the aftermath of this year Thanksgiving. I was just glad we got a break off of school before that oh so long four weeks before Christmas Break. This year seems to be going by so fast for me with marching band and starting high school. To be honest, I am pretty happy with how this year is turning out. Durring the break I was able to work some more on Super Mario Galaxy, but I'm still five stars away from unlocking Luigi. Even though Thanksgiving is great the highlight of my week was Black Friday by far. I forced my dad to take me into the chaos of the mall and Gamestop in order to get myself a Wii Zapper, a Jack Bauer action figure, a computer harddrive, oh and some presents for Christmas to the family. We honestly shopped more for ourselves on Black Friday than for others. Oh well I guess we just know how to find a good deal. How was everyone else's break? Good, bad, great? Spill!

PS I meant to make a Happy Thanksgiving blog on the actualy day but I was too busy playing Wii Sports with the family, and I think I've convinced my cousin to buy a Wii.

I got my Brain Age 2 gift

Almost a month ago, I was talking about how Nintendo gives away free gifts when you buy a game and do someting online and how they were sending away free Wii remote jackets to protect your precious tvs. Well I got all four of my jackets and my stylus box from Nintendo. Just today I got home and my mom yelled at me saying I bought something online without asking her. So I opened up the package I got and found a silver box with the Nintendo logo on the front. I open it up to find the stylus above. It was a cool experience since I gave up hope for my styli coming. Now I have to decide what color to use first. If you have Brain Age 2 make sure to order for them.

    Super Mario Galaxy

The must own Wii game is here. For most of us it was the first thing we saw played on the Wii almost two years ago. When we first saw Mario exploring planet's and new galaxies it was only a dream that would one day become a reality. The first time you put Super Mario Galaxy into your Wii and hear Mario shout "Super Mario Galaxy" your spine should tingle. The new Mario is here, and it lives up to it's previous installments. I'l have a review for it coming up on Gamespot sometime. if you have played or own Mario Galaxy tell me what you think? Do you think it beats Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine in greatest or is the game too linear? PS - Lyn, you better start playing this soon.

Top 5 Most Anticipated Wii Games

Part two of last blog starts here. What games am I most looking forward to owning on the Nintendo Wii? This time they'll be in backwords order.

    5. Okami Wii

The only time I've played Okami was at a grocery store demo PS2 but from the moment I saw it I knew it was my type of game. I could never be arsed to pick it up for my PS2, but with the annoucment of Okami for the Wii I wont have to. Even if it is a port I think it will be a great game for players like me that have never experienced the full Okami.

    4. Wii Music

This may sound corny, but one of the first things I saw demonstrated on the Wii was the music game. This, of course, will be another addition to the Nintendo "Wii" series. Plus who doesn't want to wave their hands around as they conduct ****c Nintedo songs?

    3. Mario Kart Wii

I grew up loving Mario Kart on the N64 version of the game. I would play my friends all the time, and luckily know I can still do that on the virtual console. When Mario Kart Wii comes out we will not only be able to play online with up to 8 other players, but we will also get a Nintedo Licsened Wii Wheel that will work with other racing games like Excite Truck.

    2. Super Smash Brothers Brawl

Every weekday we are given more and more reasons why we should buy this game at the Dojo site. This Nintendo fighter makes it Wii debut in what will prove to be one of the Wii's greatest titles. We got Sonic in the game hopefully we can push in some other groundbreaking new characters.

    1. Super Mario Galaxy

To be honest Super Mario Galaxy only made first place by a hair. The reason why it's on the top is because it's so close to release date. The new gameplay videos that are coming out are amazing. They leave me breathless. The graphics are the best for the Wii, and I know the new sense of gravity in the game will be a gem. Only 8 days until it comes out.

    Wii Games

The past couple weeks I have been literally "Wii crazy". I've been having a blast on this system. Just this month I have gone through Metroid Prime 3: Curruption, most of Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz, and just now started Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure because of the major hype from the Wii team at IGN. So here is a list of my top five games on the Wii console.

    1. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

The obvious winner for best Wii game at the moment. A must own for every Wii owner. This epic game lasts up to 50 hours and with each moment you fight for Hyrule you will be amazed at the brillance of this game. It's a shame that we might have wait years for another Zelda Wii game.

    2. Metroid Prime 3: Curruption

I wasn't really a hardcore Metroid fan until I got into this game. The first person controls (if you want to call them that) really make this game amazing. I have played other shooters on the Wii *coughRedSteelcough* and they just didn't have as good of controls as this baby. After playing this game the Gamecube controls for the Metroid games were a completely different experience for me. Wii is the way to go for Metroid; hopefully the Wii will see future Metroid games outside of the recent trilogy.

    3. Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure

It might be a little drastic to put this game as number three even though I have just started it, but I know for sure this game is a keeper. The point and click controls make your forget about using the nunchuck attachment in other games, and the puzzles should deffinatly keep you buys. Do I hear sequel?

    4. Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition

This game is a really close fourth. I have to finish Zack and Wiki to make the final decision. I really love RE4 as you may know I spent half of my summer sinking my teeth into this title. Surprisingly the only reason why I bought it was becasue the guy at the store convinced me to pick it up instead of Red Steel (which I got later on eBay). Zombies + Wiimote = fun.

    5. Wii Sports

Every Wii players first love. The game that introduced us to the potential of the console. Even gamers like me who don't like sports were drawn back for a little boxing or golf. Where is Wii Sports 2?!

    Took a Week Off

Last week was a tough week for marching banders. We had to work extra hard because we were having a double competition day on Saturday. That week is over so now time to start another.

Today I paid $5 at Target to pre-order my copy of Super Mario Galaxy for the day it comes out. Just because they didn't have Metroid Prime 3 when it came out and it was a disaster. When I get my game they are also giving away this cool looking coin (below) to everyone who is holding a copy.

They always say the best things in life come free.

(We won grand champion in both our competitions btw)

    Sony is lonely

Sad but true. At Dean Takahashi's blog this statement was released.

    Dean Takahashi wrote:
"One piece of news that came out this week was that Sony pleaded with third-party developers not to abandon its struggling platform. That change in attitude is a marked difference compared to the arrogance of past years. The argument is that the PS3 will show its strength as developers learn how to make games for it. But developers know they can staff four or five Wii teams with the same number of people it takes to make one PS3 game. We may havea glut of Wii games soon, but that's not as bad as not having enough games on the PS3."

It sounds pretty sad, but we can now see that Sony is beginning to have a change of heart. They used to be the big meanies that could get away with whatever they wanted but now the PS3 just isn't proving to be what they want it to be. But have no fear Sony fans I don't see them giving up any time soon. Gamecube was in last place last generation and it was still great.

    Don't you love Mondays?

NOT. Mondays are the most I hit the famous snooze button on my faithful alarm in the morning. Today I broke my record of two hits by pushing it four times. I have a learned a new trick: set the alarm to an earlier time so that when you hit the button you willl actually not be losing any time becasue you will probably wake up the normal time you want to set your alarm. Well I wouldn't say it was a bad today I was just a bit tired. The highlight of my school day was in Engish when we mourned Egar Allen Poe's death. Yeah that has to be telilng you something.

When I got home I was able to play Wii for a while, and I got about halfway through Metroid Prime 3: Curruption. I'm totally loving the game, but I can't decide if I like it better than Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition or The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

It wasn't a bad day at all. Just a bit boring.

    Wii Condoms

Unless you are living under a rock or don't care for the Nintendo Wii then you will know that Nintedo is going to shipping out "Wii Remote Jackets" to anyone with a current Wii. In the future they will be adding a jacket with every Wii Remote you purchase (including one bundled with consoles). This will make the Christmas time Wii a great bundle with the remote jackets and Wii Zapper added in. They might as well make the Wii bundled with Super Smash Brothers Brawl too. I'm sure that would sell a lot more. Anyways I was a going a bit off topic there, so here is a diagram of the jacket and how it fits on the remote.

If you own a Wii at the moment you can enter your serial number here and have four jackets shipped to you for free just like when the thicker wrist straps were offered.

While we're on the subject of free things Nintendo is also giving away a limit supply of The Legend of Zelda Quill Styluses (Styli) after you register a copy of the new The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass for the DS and fill out a quick survey. I hope I can buy the game and get a stylus because that looks sweet. Link.

    1 Week Later

Sorry for not posting any new blogs all week. I really had the intent to do it, but my (sick) life was getting in the way. I will tell you that I am know psychially well enough to watch live and play video games without falling over or getting a stomach ache. Last week was a rough one so I hope this one goes better. Yesterday my friends and I went to Paramount's King's Island for their annul October Halloween Haunt that happens Friday and Saturday nights. Yes I have to admit at times it was frightning, but it was a great trip. I'll have to admit though the worst part was waiting in line to ride the new Firehawk that makes you feel like you are flying when the seats lay you down and you barrel roll through the coaster, and in the end I lost my new cell phone mysterious on that ride. Here are some pictures of the ride so you can get a feel of what it was like. Today I regreatably cleaned my room and moved a good portion of my books to the bastement to get enough money to buy me a phone. Well a new week as started and I'm ready for what it has to offer.

    IT'S A TRAP!

    Sick in Bed

After about five hours of sleep prior to last night I have finally crawled over to the computer to make my new blog at TV.com. I don't know what is happening but I woke up this morning with a stomach ache and a high fever. I'll leave out the details for your own good. In the morning I was able to watch the pilot of Moonlight, an episode of Doctor Who, and two and a half episode of Torchwood, by the end I was actually feeling ok. My other took me to the local book store to purchase this weeks tv guide with that contains a guide to Heroes season two and, of course, the all-mighty tv listings. I got home and things got even worse than in the morning. Every time I tried to walk I got dizzy and if I stirred while laying down my stomach word hurt even more. On my dad's chair I tried to watch more of Torhwood and some of Ghost Whisperer, but I just couldn't even concentrate. I finally sleeped on that chair for three hours. The only time I got up was when my sister ringed the doorbell, and I can't tell you why she was there or if why she was home (she is usually always out and about). I mean thats how dizzy and out I was. I made my way to my room to make a blog only I sort of fell on my bed. It was comfortable but I couldn't sleep because my mom was watching Talladega Nights and it felt like the thing was up full blast and my dog was barking his head off in the leaving room. Every time I wanted to yell at my dog or tell my mom to turn the show down it felt like I had no voice and I just kept laying there until I fell asleep again. Two hours later I woke up with a faint headheck and now stomach ache. My bones ached but I was able to walk of over to the computer and type this blog. I'm sure it's just the flu but being sick is terrible. I can't watch my precious tv. As for what is causing this the only thing I can think of is the three hours in the sun from marching band, the kfc and popcorn I ate, and the soda that i drank that four people had drank out of earlier. I don't know what I am going to do with myself.

New Heroes and Lost Episode Lists

Last year I made episode lists for the seasons of Heroes and Lost and this year I am doing the same thing. Of course the Heroes will be updated more, and it will be longer, but I'll make sure to get them both as up to date as possible. Also if any fall show does well enough I might make a list for it as well.

    Four Months Later

So last night Heroes's second season began with the episode "Four Months Later". But just how great was it? Most Heroes fans have said that the episode was good just because of the Peter scene at the end. Even though most of us knew that Peter wasn't "dead" in the first place because of all of his appearances in the promos. In terms of TV.com ratings (it's been less than a day to rate the episode though) it is the second worst next to the latest episode, the finale. Taking a look at the reviews here most user have said that the episode didn't have enough action, didn't answer what needed to be answered about the finale, and didn't advance the storyline the way they wanted it to. To be honest the only "actiony" part of the episode was with Maya and Alejandro. But that leads to the question, is action really what makes an episode of Heroes a good episode of Heroes? I don't know if Heroes can really be defined as action. It's more of a mystery supernatural type show to me, and we do see some plot advancement when Mohinder and Noah begin to take down the company. My second favorite part of this episode (next to Maya and Alejandro) was the beginning of what I hope to be the "Generations" storyline starting with the death of Kaito Nakamura. Of course that means Angela Patrelli is next. Hopefully some of this season will be a mysterious as to how to stop these deaths from happening and who is doing it. Even though this is similar to the beginning of the Sylar storyline last year I still like the idea of receiving the photo with the symbol marking your death. As for answers we found that it is possible for more two Heroes to have the same power with Claire's new love interest flying his way through the episode and newest graphic novel online. I think that will make up for a lot of plotholes and stop the creators from making stupid powers like a man that can do plumbing with his eyes shut. All and all I wouldn't call this episode a perfect Heroes episode, but it could be the beginning of a great season... hopefully.

    Next week on Heroes:

    "Lizards"

Matt seeks allies against the new Hero killer; Claire encounters a student with powers; Maya and Alejandro enter Mexico and find their powers more of a hindrance then a help; Suresh tries to locate the Haitian; and Hiro works to contain the damage caused by his journey into the past.

Sugar Cookies... Start things out a little CRAZY!

The other day my mom took me to go shopping at our local Super Wal*Mart. I think we really didn't plan on getting anything we just had nothing else to do. But when we got there we found that a Super Wal*Mart has many things that you can purchase. We look at the new iPods and some dvds, but it wasn't until we got to the food part that I saw something I really wanted. It was a box of sugar cookie dough with a Halloween design on them. I knew that my mom wouldn't let me had them so I snuck a package into the cart. About ten minutes later she saw them and said that she didn't know where they came from, but wanted some anyways. So I got to go home with a package of soon to be sugar cookies. Then this weekend came and I got home late from a marching band competition on Saturday, and when I woke up someone had made the cookies for me. It must be destiny for me to eat them. YUMMY! Don't sugar cookies make you happy?

    Summer Review

Well this has been a rough summer for athevolunteer. It started out great. I was able to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, and The X-Files all for the first time in the free time I had for the first month and a half. Then came marching band. It took up four days of my week and exhausted me to the max. With so much stuff involved with marching band I have had little time for tv, foruming, and blogging. Fortunately I made it through pre-marching band practice and the summer. Today starts the first "real" day of the fall shows for me with Family Guy premiering. It feels like this summer has gone by so fast, and I just can't wait to find out what the fall shows have to offer. Even though I still have a busy schedule with marching band five days a week (practice Tuesday and Thursday, football games friday, and competition on Saturday) I will make sure to keep in contact with all of my Internet friends. Cheers to a new fall season

    2008: The New Monday Night

Most people that watch the show Lost probably know that the time and day of our show has been changed from Wednesday nights at 10:00 to Monday nights at 8:00. This doesn't really effect me much. If anything it helps me since it's on earlier again. As for competition the only thing that it has put itself up against is Prison Break on FOX.

But I can see it already my Monday night is gong to be a living hell with shows at conflicting times.

8:00 - Lost and Prison Break

    9:00 - Heroes and 24

When Lost and 24 come on I will be making use of my DVR quite a bit. I'm pretty sure I'll be watching Lost over Prison Break. I'm into PB but not as much as Lost. As for the nine o'clock block I'm going to wait and see just how good the new season of Heroes is before I think about watching it over 24. And then I'll be watching Journeyman at 10 making my Monday night a busy one. Oh well what is a tv addict to do?
