Just random blabber about games!

  • 17Dec 09

I just wanted to throw another update out to let people know I'm not dead yet. I'll hopefully be doing more reviews, I'm going to try to do some NES games this time. Also, I'll be doing more top lists (like top-10 title screen themes for one). But for now, it's time to watch Family Guy. Pease, happy holidays! I'll update next either Christmas Eve or Christmas.

Hey all! Here's just a couple of reviews I just finished. Enjoy, as always!

    Hitman 2
    Left 4 Dead 2

Indeed.. Not red as in decoration or the red/blue/green/white theme of Christmas.. Rather, a red mist of showering blood from zombies charging endlessly at you as you plow through them with a samurai sword, leaving a trail of heads wherever you tread.

Yes, that's right, I got Left 4 Dead 2 today. Grandma gave me the Christmas money she gives me every year and I spent it on this game. Every dollar I paid was so worth it. It has a lot more in store than the first game, and is much more worth the money than the last.

Other than this, I beat Hitman 2 the other night and currently am working on Contracts, enjoying it so far, I heard a lot of people say Hitman 2 was a lot better, but I think I have to disagree. I just couldn't get into the controls in Hitman 2 for one, they seem a lot more user-friendly in this one. I shall review Hitman 2 sometime soon when I feel up to it.

    Merry early Christmas everyone

Yes.. The meaning to me is completely different. My girlfriend lead me to believe she killed herself, but it suddenly turns out she's alive and well and has a girlfriend now.. Life goes on I suppose. Nothing more to dwell on.

You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find you get what you need.

Just wanted to wish everybody a happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy your turkey and get as fat as you possibly can today!

How've I been doing? Pretty good. When I came back home I had Guitar Hero 3 brand new with the black Gibson on the Xbox 360 that my cousin got me for an early Christmas present. Next Friday my parents are buying me Rockband 2 (just the game, not with the accessories).

With Christmas money if I get the same as I usually get, I'm totally getting Left 4 Dead 2. How is it guys? Is it really better than the first? I hope it is. Well, I'm off to play some Forza 3. Peace and again, happy Thanksgiving

I've been gone here to my cousin's for the past week and will be here a little longer. I'm hoping I can actually get a job before I go home, or something. It'd be nice to have some income.

Sometime in March, I'm moving down to Washington in with a friend and we're gonna just hang out and work seperate jobs, and then end up going our seperate ways, me, to Reno. I'm pretty excited, and a bit nervous, but I know it'll turn out fine.

Otherwise, I've just been playing some games, mostly Red Faction Guerrilla and GTA 4. I'm not sure what sort of job I'm going to get, but something that is fairly simple and pays a decent amount, enough for me to have a few bucks before the move.

Just figured I'd pop my head in and tell you guys n' gals what's going on. Now to check the forums.

Because my dad kicks ass, he took me to the store today and had me pick out any Xbox 360 game I wanted, so I grabbed Forza Motorsport 3 after reading the wonderful Gamespot review, aside from the reviews from all the people who submitted one, and I was set. Now I'm installing it and about to chill with a Mug Root Beer and some nice, enjoyable racing. Side note, still waiting for my damn PS2 Slim.

I finally got the last thing I ordered today in the mail, Final Fantasy VII. Now, everything I ordered but the PS2 Slim is here! To give a brief overview of what I got, here's a list of everything I ordered online:

    • Tomb Raider 2
    • Tomb Raider 3
    • Final Fantasy Origins
    • Final Fantasy Anthology
    • Final Fantasy VII
    • Final fantasy VIII
    • Final Fantasy IX
    • Mega Man 8
    • Mega Man X Collection
    • Gears of War 2 shirt
    • Friday the 13th shirt
    • Joker "Why so serious?" shirt
    • Super Mario Bros. 3 hoodie
    • Evil Dead "This is my boomstick" shirt
    • Neon-outlined Sonic shirt
    • COG-tag necklace

Outside all that, I bought my girlfriend an NES with Tetris, Super Mario Bros. 1, 2 and 3, Legend of Zelda, and Zelda II. Now, to wait for the PS2 Slim!

Yep. My PS2 stopped reading discs again, so I went and took it apart to try to fix it again like I did that last time, and I must've pulled too hard or something, the ribbon tore on the inside and it was just, a mess after that. Dad told me to look at the price of a Slim on Amazon for brand new, picked one and we ordered it. So, at least I get to start fresh with something better

I've also been getting stuff in the mail I ordered. Got 4 shirts, my Super Mario Bros. 3 hoodie and Mega Man 8 today. There's only 4 more things I'm waiting for: FF7, Tomb Raider III, NES poster and Gears of War shirt. Everything else, I have. Lovin' everything, it just sucks I can't play my PS1/PS2 games I bought right now.. Ah well, I will soon. Until then!

Well, I was tagged by the evil Dgalmnun Looks like I better do it. Rules are I gotta put 10 facts about myself.

1: I switch from loving cats to dogs more, but I think I actually love the dogs more.

2: I have a really hard time on CoD4 online, so I don't bother trying.

3: I'm a pansexual, meaning I don't care what gender the person is, I take what's inside (this is beyond bisexual, bisexual only goes for male or female, pansexual goes for both, everything between and outside).

4: Morbid humor is the best kind!

5: Dragon Quest is my favorite RPG series.

6: I love Vietnam war movies (Platoon is the best).

7: Anything to do with Mountain Dew, I'm there.

8: It's hard to hold onto money for me.

9: I hate Cloud and Sephiroth

10: I've been called a fanboy when I'm indeed a retro gamer, just because I own an Xbox 360 means nothing. I own almost everything from the 2600 to the Wii and 360.

I shall now tag three unlucky people They are: MistressMinako, Mtngranek, BlazikenTails64.

Side note, I've been playing Final Fantasy Origins a lot, got it the other day, I already clocked 22 hours on it. I just got Mega Man X Collection in the mail today I'm a happy camper.

As long as I've been here on Gamespot, I've never revealed one of my favorite things to do. That would be, poetry. I write a lot of poetry, I come up with it as the day goes by and sometimes it's last-minute. I just now finished writing one and I thought, "Huh. I never showed the folks on GS." So here you guys go, my latest poem of 5 minutes ago, I titled it Cyanide.

    White as snow
    Black as night
    A silent dark
    A chilling light

    In hunger I prey
    A calming taste
    Gasp of pleasure
    Blood down my face

    Bitter poison
    Sweet demise
    Take from me
    All I dispise

    Down the spiral
    Into the den
    Thank you God
    For giving me sin

That's right kiddies, I'm back to infest your interwebs, so hide your Sims wife and Zwinky children, for I lurk once again... Anyway, haha. Sup guys? I've just been gone at my cousin's place for the past few days. While there, I went to Gamestop and bought 6 Xbox 360 games. Didn't even cost $100 total.

    Perfect Dark Zero

    Battlefield 2

    Dead Space

    Far Cry Instincts Predator

    GRAW

    Red Faction Guerilla

Love all of 'em, especiallly Dead Space. Well, just thought I'd check in. Peace out!

  • 8Oct 09

Well I got that money today and I got myself a nice huge stack of games so far:

    GTA IV

Halo 3 (replacement of my old one)

    Halo 3 ODST

    Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3

    Metal Gear Solid 2

Hitman Trilogy (Blood Money, Silent Assassin and Contracts)

I also, of course, bought a 4000 point MS card. More games later I also got an AC/DC hoodie and Watchmen on DVD.

My computer took a huge crap last night, so I had no other choice but to go and reformat. It works perfectly now, so I'll be saving that money and getting a ton of games and stff anyway. I'm also saving up money so that Ican buy a ticket to move down with my gal to Reno. Don't know exactly when this'll be, but hopefully very, very soon. I'm glad I got this fixed, because I won't be here in Alaska much longer, and I don't want to be wasting money on a computer I probably won't take down with me. So, with that, this'll do for now. It runs a lot faster now, thankfully.

I was going to wait until I was down in Reno but I have no other choice. Next week with some of that money I'm getting, I'm getting a new computer. Nothing too fancy and definately nothing expensive, but something which can at least run my Half Life 2 game and a few others. You guys don't even wanna know about this computer.. It's horrible. 20 gig, 64 MB video card, 512 MB of ram.. Ugh. And so on. It's horrible. I hate this piece of crap. Just thought I'd throw it out there. This thing's about to die, it's infested with more stuff than I can fix. First thing's first when I get my new comp, I'm getting Firefox and instantly trashing my Internet Explorer

In two weeks we get our dividends. Let me explain this. Basically, you're paid for living in Alaska every October. This year, it's a big $1300. You know why I'm posting this in particular on Gamespot? Haha, my friends, if you don't know what I could possibly doing with most of that, I'm afraid you've been under the rock too long.

Games.. Games.. And more games, and some kickass shirts and a hoodie. Let me give a quick list of what I know I'm getting off the top of my head.

Final Fantasy Origins (Final Fantasy I and II)

Final Fantasy Anthology (Final Fantasy V and VI, I already own Chronicles with IV and Chrono Trigger)

    Final Fantasy VII

    Final Fantasy VIII

    Final Fantasy IX

    Tomb Raider II

    Tomb Raider III

    Mega Man 8

    Mega Man X Collection

    Donkey Kong arcade shirt

    Contra alien boss shirt

Super Mario Bros. 3 hoodie (it's SO COOL, it's got all the 8-bit goodness of the many forms of Mario, enemies, blocks, powerups and the background of the hoodie is black, it's zip-up how I like it)

    Gears of War shirt

    Gears of War COG-tag necklace

    Gears of War wallet (maybe)

    The Joker shirt

    Ghostbusters glow-in-the-dark shirt

Halo 3 (Replacing my current one, it's about dead)

    Halo ODST

    Halo Wars

*Takes a deep breath and gasps*

    Ghostbusters (360)

    Street Fighter IV

A new 360 controller, something limited or cool looking, probably the dragon one

    Batman Arkham Asylum

    The Dark Knight

    Death Wish 3

    Dead Space

    A 4000 point card

House of the Dead 2 & 3 with the handgun for Wii

Yeah, that's a lot of crap, I know. I probably won't get ALL of it, but most of it. Most of all, I'm getting a NES for my gal with a few games. There's so much stuff I'm gonna get, it's almost overwhelming. All those FF games will pretty much complete my collection of the main line. This means I'll own I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2, and XII. I don't really count XI because it's online.. It should've been FF Online and FF XII be XI. Oh well, nothing I can do about it. Agh. It's getting hard to sleep at night, I'm too excited. I might be leaving the end of October or the beginning of November with my gal to Reno. This is exciting.

I've seen several people around the forums with one, so I decided to get one too because it looks, and is, pretty handy. It's called Backlogger, and for those of you new to it, it's basically a site where you can keep track of your games and the ones you've beaten, fully completed (by getting all achievements, unlocking everything, etc) and find games you haven't beaten yet. I'll be putting it in my signature but I'll put a link to my page there on my blog, and that link is right here! 'Til next time everyone Also, be sure to look for the AVGN's new video, he reviewed the two Wayne's World games. Peace

I did this originally on my website but.. To avoid getting modded for linking to a website that contains strong language, if there is a rule for that, just to be safe, I'm putting the list here. I'm just going to make it simple with the character name, the fatality and a link to a video of the fatality. So here we go!

    10: Sindel; Hair spin

    9: Jade; Shaker

    8: Kitana; Kiss of death

    7: Reptile; Acid puke

    6: Sheeva; Skin rip

    5: Jax; Boot stomp

4: Liu Kang; Aracde machine drop

    3: Scorpion; Hell raiser

    2: Sub-Zero; Head-spinal rip

    1: Smoke; Armageddon

Indeed I have just beaten Shadow of the Colossus. I have to say it's one of the best games containing one of the best endings I've ever played and seen. I shall review the game at a later date. Great work on such a wonderful masterpiece, SCEA
