  My Last Blog.. (PLEASE READ!)

  This will be my last blog, last thursday I recieved a notice that one more moderation and I would be banned, (along with a 5 day suspension) I started out really, really bummed, I mean this is basically all I've done other than watch Youtube videos and play Guitar Hero for the last 3 months. But I also saw it as a sort of "new beggining" I'll be starting the job I'd been waiting for since October this week and I won't have much time to lurk the forums as is, so it might be a good thing.. Who knows, only time will tell..

  While I will be ditching this account, I'll probably start a new one so when I do have time or feel like posting I'll be able to do so (its not against TOS to abandon an almost dead account and start a new one to the best of my knowledge.) While I'll be sad to lose my over 17k posts at least it'll be better than getting banned..

  I'm not sure what name I'll choose for my new account.. I was thinking PoisoN_Facecam0 ... idk why, its the PS account I've been playing KZ2 on whenever I get a chance and I've grown to like it... Any suggestions?

  KZ2 Sidenote: Well after finishing the single player and only needing to get a couple more badges online, I'd say the game is quite boring.. 25 hours online (hit General at only 15 horus), 5 hour campaign and then it just seemed dull.. meh..

  After looking through all the release dates for every major console both handhelds and PC, there is almost nothign coming out even remotely interesting on any platform in the next 5-6 months for me.. So I don't know if I'll be getting my PS3 repaired anytime soon (with the rumored 299 price drop I might just wait for that and buy a second one until I send mine in) I will most likely be buying a new (or as close to new as possible) fat PS2, there are a bunch of JRPG's that I still haven't played that I want to get, and about a dozen I already own that don't work on my current PS2...

  Watchmen Sidenote (No Spoilers I saw it the day it came out, and then I saw it again last weekend, I have to say I loved it, Alot of people are claiming its crap compared to the graphic novel (which i've read twice aswell,) and to be honest if anyone went in expecting it to be a perfect film adaptation is a fool, I think the movie complements the Graphic Novel very well for what it is, and I can't wait till a proper rip comes out to download and then when the Bluray comes out I'll be getting that too...

  I beat Killzone 2!

  My ability to mooch knows no bounds...
  I was very sad about Killzone 2 coming out.. mainly because my PS3 was dead and my wallet was empty...
  BUT THAT DIDN"T STOP ME!!!
  My little brother had a readathon earlier tonight for school.. He had gotten Killzone 2 earlier in the day and wouldn't be able to play it till the day after anyway.. So after bartering numerous goods with him to allow me to move his PS3 down to my room for the evening I started Killzone 2 at about 5:30pm... well its now 12:30ish.. and I've finished Killzone 2 and had some extra time to play online...

  Impressions...

  Single Player - Holy ******* god... The level of detail and polish throughout the entire single player campaign borders on neurotic and obbsesive on the devs part... I was completely drawn in, the level of realism was ridiculous.. GS complained about the motion controls being "tacked on" and while that is partly true.. I thought they were actually quite well implemented.

  The weapons.. omg the weapons.. OMFG THE TOTALLY AWESOME BADASS WEAPONS! seriously.. these "tools" with which you conduct the symphony of bullets, blood, and explosions that is Killzone 2 with are stellar.. From the weight of each weapon to the recoil and reloading, everything is perfect.. They never got tiring as some weapons do in games.. I don't think i've ever felt so "one with the gun" as in Killzone 2, there are no "gimmick" weapons as often many games have these days.. each weapon is a work of art and seeing them in action is as good as it gets..

  Enemy AI - If i didn't know better some times i'd think there was an entire army of people each controling their very own Helghan.. enemy AI is some of the best there has ever been... I rarely felt like they were using "cheap tactics" save for the final boss fight... Plus some of the banter between them is pretty entertaining imo...

  Graphics and Sound - Stunning.. absolutely stunning graphics.. I would say that the finished product exceeds the 05 CG trailer. Sound is imho the best part of the game, the orchestral soundtrack is amazing and i would buy the OST in a heartbeat, gunfire, footsteps, ambiance.. every facet of the sound is above and beyond even the biggest blockbuster movies.. I listened to it on 5.1 surround, and It was both overwhelming and breathtaking.. move over MGS4... there's a new king in town

  My only complaint - was the length... I clocked in at just over 5 hours.. which is a tad on the short side.. although I did rush through a number of scenarios or take in the scenery much (not that the Helghans would let me anyway.) To be honest though, If I hadn't of had such a small amount of time to play I would have started the whole campaign over again the second it ended.. Its just soo well done.. and firefights can play out in seemingly infinite ways...

  Multiplayer - I only had just over 45 minutes to play the MP portion of the game... But within about 10 minutes I was hooked.. there is still a bit of a learning curve even after playing the SP campaign, mostly due to very reduced health and lack of the SP's cover system.. It was alot of fun though, got into a 32 player room within about 20 seconds, and started playing about 20 after that.. Didn't experience any lag, the maps were all new but seemed familiar, as if I had ran the destroyed hallways and traversed the rubble filled courtyards many times before.. I got to play on about 7 maps. idk how many there are, but they were all as well done as the SP areas and fairly well balanced..

  All in all - I'd give it a 9.6/10 the online rank up system is very deep from what I saw, and the lobby system doesn't really have any problems.. the only thing is I don't think it has a universal mute (where you can mute everyone in the lobby) you have to do it player by player, which in a 32p match could get annoying...

  Good news on the job front as well.. It would appear that in as early as next week I can start at the job I'd been waiting on for almost 6 months! It's a local video game store thats opening up another location and I'm friends with the owner and it looks like it'll be a pretty sweet place to work too.. they got about 9 "40in" LCD TV's 7 of which people will be able to rent playtime on with the current gen console of their choice and the other 2 will be mounted above the till playing trailers on whatnot... Can't wait.. it'll be alot of hard work though to start with, they have about 5000 games that need to be entered into their computers.. I'm looking forward to it though.. I'll be able to start paying off my nearly 2k of debt I owe my parents for school and other various things I owed them for before I quit my job back in July..

  Things are lookin up!

  Finished my Sig...and movie galore!

  Well after watching Elfen Lied all day yesterday... (well not all day.. but i watched all 13 eps ) I got the idea for a sig... It took me about 2 hours in GIMP as I'm still fairly noobish at it.. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out overall...

  

  I don't think it'll be against any of the ToU.. only time will tell though...
  For some reason though Lucy's face on the right looks kinda weird.. if anyone knows how to fix that kind of thing (doesn't look like that in gimp its an perfectly clear render i used for it) it would be much appreciated..

  Opinions? Tips? Anything...

  Also... I saw Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Yes Man, Taken and Push this week... all of which where quite good imo... although my favorite out of all of them was Push.. probably one of the best "superhero" movies in a long time.. I thought it would be quite generic from the trailer but it was great, although it was nothing like a thought it would be at all.. It was actually kinda like X-men meets Oceans Eleven

  Underworld: Rise of the Lycans was a little dark for me (would it kill to add some color to the movie!?) but it was quite good and ties in with the other Underworld films reasonably well, although the ending was really, really weak...

  Paul Blart: Mall Cop - It was reasonably funny, certainly not a movie I would buy, but I got it for free so I thought it was pretty good, as most movies in the "family" genre, it was moderatley predictable and not very violent.. after seeing it I want a segway though

  The Day the Earth Stood Still - I love doomsday movies so no surprise, I loved this one.. although once again it suffered from predictability... also Will Smiths kid was really annoying in it...Just wanted to smack em by the end...

  Yes Man - Jim Carey at his best imo.. nuff said

  Taken - The perfect role for Liam Nieson, he was just a such a badass in this movie, It had a few pretty good twists in it and was very satsifyingly violent..
