Kane and Lynch: Should be Dead Men

It's pretty wide spread now that Jeff has been fired from Gamespot. The reason, as far as I can understand, is he gave Kane and Lynch a 6.0 and the advertisers didn't like it. They didn't like how they had paid money to advertise a stinker, and as a result Cnet had a cissy fit and went and did something they will regret. Badly.

I like Gamespot, and always have. Unlike dumbass fanboys, who can't comprehend their favourite game isn't a 9.0+, I trust them. You see, opinion is human nature; everyone has one, and it just happens people like to express them. If you have the mental capacity of say, a light bulb, when things don't match your opinion you become aggressive and say how you hate them and everything else in the world. Jeff unfortunately has had a lot of this over the years.

Let's take his most famous 'controversy'. 8.8 Twighlight Princess. People went ballistic, mainly nintendo fanboys, but none the less really off their heads about the situation. "NOOOO I CAN'T MAKE MY OWN MIND AS TO WHETHER I LIKE A GAME BUT NOT GETTING 9.5 IS BLAPHSEMY", "I HATE JEFF WHAT AN IDIOT HE CLEARLY DIDNT PLAY THE GAME EVER IN HIS LIFE AND HATES NINTENDO AND SUCKS AND STUFF ALOT"... it goes on. What was the outrage for? Simply the game got a number value lower than they expected. Most argue and say, "No no, the review sucked". Obviously this is bull, but sure; it may not have been his best review.

I respect opinion, and for a lot of situations I respect those who stand by it. I may not always agree with it, and some cases, Hitler for example, their opinions weren't the best out there. But this is a video game review we're talking about. So for Jeff sticking by his K+L review he deserves sympathy. Gamespot lost arguably the best guy on the team, certainly the most honest. It really proves as to how far Cnet are in it for the money, not quality journalism. The majority are reasoning with this, no doubt many will follow Jeff and pack up shop from Gamespots domain. And I don't blame them.

It's fair to say every game that is advertised on here will now recieve a higher score, because the reviewers will be scared of losing their job. Everyone knows Jeff at GS, Cnet would have to have had 'serious' thought about this. But some new, unnamed reviewer? They could lose thier job for coughing awkwardly.

Videos, reviews, scores... all that content that may have involved Jeff will not be the same. I'll stay around for the ride, but one day they really will swerve off the road.
