    The Final Chapter (Goodbye 2009!)

Welcome to my longest (probably) and final blog of 2009. It'll recap all the great things about this year with some blogs and other links. Let's get to it.

    Music

This year I got into a few artists that I knew about, but never took the time to listen fully. Queen stand out as the best since they jumped from a band I'd dismiss to one of my favourite bands. Judas Priest are another that surprised me, I didn't expect them to be this good. I've also started listening to less metal bands and spread out into other genres. Rock and Indie are good examples with Fleet Foxes, Band of Horses, She & Him, The Beatles, The Dear Hunter etc. I've also stuck my toes into electronica with Fever Ray and The Knife. Hopefully next year will push my music boundaries even further.

This year I was also introduced the Last.FM around April. This great website collects data for everything you listen to, and it is a great way of getting into new bands. Anyone who listens to music should get this.

    Movies

I'll just go ahead and list every movie I've seen this year, with the best at the top. (A few are missing)

    Watchmen: 9.5/10

    Avatar 9.5/10

    (500) Days of Summer: 9.5/10

    District 9: 9/10

    Drag Me To Hell 8/10

    Black Dynamite 8.5/10

    Friday the 13th Remake: 5/10

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans: 6.5/10

    Yes Man: 8/10

Gran Torino: 9/10 (I think this may go down a bit with a rewatch)

    The Unborn: 2/10

    National Treasure 2: 7.5/10

    Paranormal Activity: 6.5/10

    Zombieland: 6/10

    The Hangover: 9/10

    Terminator Salvation: 5/10

    I Love You, Man: 7/10

    Angels & Demons: 7/10

    X-Men Origins: Wolverine: 8/10

It was a good year for films all 'round. I still need to watch alot of films from this year. Let's hope I get them watched next year!

I also rewatched all three Lord of the Rings films througout this year. All are better than I remembered them. 10.5/10 (Yes, I'm cheating).

    Games

This list is going to be a little small. I bought L4D2, Sins of a Solar Empire, THQ Game Pack (18 games) and Dawn of War II. So you could say that I didn't buy much this year.

Comparing that list to this list. I found quite funny.

    Books

I bought a crap load of books this year. But I have only read 6 of them. Here and here are blogs detailing the books I bought. Mostly all Stephen King books. He is probably my favourite writer. The first book I read of his was The Gunslinger, and it was grand. His books are longer than what I used to read, but they're far better than what I used to read. Here is the list of books I've read this year. I also finished Cell last night, and it was one of the best so far. The ending disappointed me at first, but then I realised that I had to fill in the blanks myself.

    Blogs

In this part I'll select a few favourite blogs and write a short paragraph about them.

    My last day at highschool

I was really disappointed that we got off earlier than I expected we would. I didn't get to take advantage and treat that day as my true last day.

    5th Year

My 5th year at GS! Yes, I've spent half a decade wasting time on this site. Do I wish I could take it back? No way.

    Green Day Live

This time was truly one of the greatest times of my life. I can't wait to see Green Day again. Read the blog for all my thoughts on it.

My Dream Theater album review blogs.

    Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10

I really had a good time breaking down each album and finding which I liked best. I'll probably do the same with Queen.

    Last Words

2009 was a great year all around. I found some great new bands, seen some excellent movies and read some great books. Hopefully 2010 tops it.

This is it from me for 2009. Happy Holidays and Have a fun New Year. See you in 2010.

    The Pre-(Pre?)-Final Chapter

Well, this year is ending quite quickly. In another two weeks we'll be into 2010. Time sure does fly. Expect this to be one of my last blogs before my 2009 round up blog (the important one). So be sure to look out for that.

I sure do hope it snows for the rest of the year, because that really shows off Christmas to me. It's currently snowing a little bit, but I hope it picks up alot.

I recently watched (500) Days of Summer, and that film blew me away. I can definitely relate to the film in almost every way (about the way he feels, etc) I will score in a while since I feel I need to think it over a little more.

I am also recording a rap-metal song with Foolz3h. Not to be taken entirely series, it is a semi-remix of the song Terror Train by Demons & Wizards. I have no idea when we will finish it, but don't expect top-tier music. Just expect a hilarious/bad rap-metal song.

Well, that's it for me. Be sure to read and comment on my 2009 round up blog. I'll be putting a good bit of effort into it (I'm almost begging now, aren't I? Haha).

If you miss the next one, have a great rest of the year.

    Maximum Force

It has been a week since the Metal fast (I guess I'll call it that). I made the blog on Wednesday, but I actually started on a Tuesday. It went extremely well. I listened to a few albums I haven't listened to and I have got into a few new artists. Fever Ray, Bat for Lashes and The Dear Hunter are some. The final listens for the full week in my top 8...

    1. Queen (162 plays)

    2. Flight of the Conchords (95 plays)

    3. Green Day (90 plays)

    4. The Beatles (67 plays)

    5. Fever Ray (51 plays)

    6. Wolfmother (40 plays)

    7. Bat for Lashes (38 plays)

    8. Fleet Foxes (30 plays)

You could even say I have grown to love non-metal a considerable amount, too. Expect to see alot more non-metal plays on my Last.FM.

I have also leveled up. 39 - Max Force. I'm not sure exactly what that's from, any ideas?

Well that's me for now. Have fun everyone.
