Well I'm a male IRL, and most of the time I play male characters. More so in an MMO environment than a single player experience. The reason I USUALLY play males in MMO's is because of a couple factors:

    1. The character is my avatar, a virtual representation of myself, so I pick a male. Helps if I can make myself look like a bad ass. lol.

    2. Female characters are guaranteed to get hit on by every other male in the game (which is about 90% of the population). Can be extremely annoying. I feel sorry for the real women who play these games

However, lately I've been playing female characters in WoW. Why you ask? Well, for one thing, it's something different. And I just find the female models to be more aesthetically pleasing (i.e. stylish animations, etc.) I am NOT one of those guys who sits there and strips his Night Elf naked to dance in Ironforge lol. When I say "aesthetically pleasing" I mean just that; the animations, the art, etc. But there will ALWAYS be other people who judge and don't understand and blame you for being homosexual just because you played a female character in an MMO. To these people, I'd like to ask if they ever played Tomb Raider, or ANY game with a female lead role, and ask them if they think playing that is homosexual behavior. Pure nonsense and absolute rubbish. But then, I really don't care what the opinion is of someone who is that immature.

For some reason, in WoW I find it harder to play females than in Guild Wars. In Guild Wars all my characters are female. Maybe it's the fact that WoW has more of a sense of a "World". I don't know the reasoning. In Hellgate London, my characters are female. Just some examples.

I once was a member of a guild in WoW who had a male character who was actually played by a female. And I can understand why women do this. The flirting and one liners really get annoying when you're playing. I mean come on people. We are here to play a GAME, NOT to pick up a date. If you are using WoW to meet women, you have some serious issues that need dealt with.

Some people just won't ever get it, or understand. But I'm fine with that. It's like a lot of things in life. The important thing is that I play the way I WANT to have fun, and enjoy myself.

Well I preordered Hellgate London and got my beta key. The game is simply awesome and I can't wait for the retail release. Flagship Studios will prove to be just as good a dev as Blizz, since it's made up of ex-Blizz employees such as Bill Roper and crew. So far beta is very polished and it is looking good for final release. See you in London!

Well I'm like early into the game, and I'm stuck at the part where there is the blue platform. The signpost said to stand on top, then the hint was 3 left arrows. I don't know what that means I tried tapping left 3 times, nothing lol. I'll have to look up an FAQ or if you know what I'm doing wrong, feel free to post.

Well I reviewed it and gave it a 6.0 check out my review for more details. This game just didn't do it for me. I played single player and multiplayer and the only thing it had going for it was the graphics. I thought the single player campaign was corny, and multiplayer was just a spamfest where you purchased units and zerg rushed your opponent. Over. And over again. I don't really see what the fun is in that. I know I'm in the minority because everybody is praising this game, but I just don't get it. Where's the strategy?? Isn't that what RTS games are about? Blah....

    4. Mortal Kombat Armageddon
Then I also picked up Stranglehold for Xbox 360. Wow, lots of gaming goodness for meee! woot.

Well, I have quite few games in my collection I don't really need anymore, so I'm going to take them to Gamestop and trade them in. Not 100% sure what I'm going to get with them yet. I also have several movies on DVD I'll see if they'll take as well. Kind of cleaning house at the moment and just getting rid of stuff I won't ever play again. I was going to sell them on ebay to try to get more for them, but really, I just don't want the hassle of ebay. I just want to take them in and get trade in value.

Just had to post how much I love this game. Got it for my 360. I have Lego Star Wars II The Original Trilogy. This game is just plain good fun. I also love it's sense of humor. Some of the sequences are downright hilarious. I'm HIGHLY looking forward to Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga for Wii! I will get that for sure. Expect a review from me soonish as I complete more of the game. So far I am loving it and it's dirt cheap since its a greatist hits title. Also, look out for Lego Batman in 2008! That should be great as well. Can't get enough of these Lego games!

Well, I can blame it on a number of things, everything from simply not playing my 360 enough to changing Xbox Live accounts. No matter the reason, the fact remains my Gamerscore is abominable considering I've had this 360 since launch lol. I guess a big problem is that I'm an active World of Warcraft player, so my time for gaming is somewhat divided. Being a multi-console owner in addition to playing WoW doesn't leave a lot of time. It's kind of sad really because I have a good number of 360 games, I just haven't finished them or played them online or something so that I don't really unlock many achievements. I'm not too worried about it though, anybody who thinks I'm lame for having a poor Gamerscore is probably someone I don't want to associate with anyhow

But seriously, I need to kick it into high gear and get me some points!!

Got some new games. I picked up Twilight Princess for Wii, although I've been dead tired so I haven't had a chance to really play it much yet. Never played it on the Gamecube so this should be a lot of fun. Also purchased Lunar Knights and Custom Robo Arena for the DS on amazon.com. Can't wait to get those.

This month has been a super busy month for gaming. I still have my Halo 3 preorder to pick up on the 25th lol. Busy, but fun!

The kicker is I didn't have any money to get anything other than Wii Sports and Wii Play (came with the extra wii-mote). I'm really enjoying Wii Sports. Using the Wii Mote is definitely a nice change of pace and really something different in the gaming world. So far my favorite Wii Sports game is Tennis, then Bowling. I really like those two though I enjoy the whole thing. Can't wait to get a REAL Wii game lol

Well, it's been forever, but I finally am getting my Wii! I ordered a Wii bundle from Gamestop.com and according to the tracking info it is out for delivery today! I totally can't wait! I've been missing out on the hottest thing in gaming for way too long now!

Omg, I can hardly believe it. Gamestop.com has a bundle that isn't OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive. It comes with some goodies and extras to justify the price. Not quite as cheap as just the Wii itself, but I'd have went out and bought the extra wiimotes and stuff anyways. It's just been simply impossible to find one at ANY store in my area and has been really frustrating so I broke down and ordered this gamestop bundle.

Still haven't picked out a first game for it yet....don't know. Probably either Twilight Princess or Metroid Prime 3.

EDIT - Well okay Warhawk may have to wait cause I bought a Wii instead lol

Hello everybody! I need your help! I want to establish a union known as Mod Freaks which is dedicated to map making and modding for PC games! I have sent out invites so PLEASE check your union invites and help me get started! Even if you don't want to stay in the union please help me at least get it formed! This will be a great union where fellow gamers and would be designers can share their works, or learn how to get started in the mod community!!

Well, I decided to download the Source SDK through Steam, so I could make maps for Half-Life 2 and Counter Strike Source. Right now I'm focusing on Half-Life 2 Deathmatch maps. The Hammer editor is really very good. I've been using the SDK tutorials and it seems SOOO much better than any other crappy map editors I've used in the past for like Quake, etc.

When I finally get something decent I'll post it on my website for download

Well, I have been writing player reviews for games here on Gamespot. Readers can either give it a thumbs up or thumbs down depending on if they like the review, or agree/disagree with it. The problem with this system is that I think it is somewhat biased as I personally feel that people will give you a thumbs down simply because you liked/disliked the game, and don't even consider the merit and quality of your review.

Now it is most definitely your perogative and right to give a thumbs down for any reason. Even if you simply don't like my shoe size, that's your right to give a negative recommendation if that's what you want to do. So, I'm not saying you should NEVER get a thumbs down, I just question the validity of some of these marks.

One thing I have noticed on news articles posted on Gamespot is that a lot of comments get a thumbs down merely for disagreeing with what the article stated. Their comment was written intelligently and was a good contribution to Gamespot as a whole. But yet, the legions of fanboys will have their way.

I feel that the thumbs up, thumbs down system of rating reviews and comments is too easily abused by fanboys. I don't think it accurately represents whether a review or comment was genuinely "bad" or not, but rather an opinion that either agrees or disagrees with fanboy views.

But yet, where do you draw the line? What constitutes fanboyism as opposed to genuine disagreement? You certainly can't police people's actions based on opinions. So, there's really nothing wrong with the system itself. But perhaps people should ask themselves whether a review or comment REALLY deserves a thumbs down, or even a thumbs up.

    Food for thought.

Well, as I'm sure everybody is aware, Bioshock has been getting outstanding praise and reviews by just about everyone on the planet. It's more than a first person shooter, it's an experience. One to be savored, and not to be missed. According to reviewers, it is truly a next gen game. From the sound of it, you can just about do whatever you want in the game. I really can't wait to get my hands on it. I already have it preloaded through Steam, however, I might just pick up the collector's edition in the store. We shall see. One thing is for sure, I will be playing the heck out of this game.

What will really be interesting is if Bioshock really does server as a wake up call to developers. Instead of giving us the same old linear, generic garbage, will they take the hint of Bioshock and truly start trying to make something that is a work of art? Only time will tell. Either way, gamers win.
