I'm no longer a fan of...

Internet "insider" sites. Gamespot is cool, it's not included in this list, and neither is Kotaku, because it's just hilarious. But Joystiq? That site is annoying as hell. Comment threads occasionally get off topic and turn into whining brats arguing between each other, and once I realized I fell into that category, I decided. I decided not to take part in it anymore, simply because it lost its meaning.

I can't stand the people who consistently whine about their broken 360. Don't whine about 360 hardware failures, because M$ are trying their best to get the job done. This sort of thing happened before, you must understand, with the PS2. Consoles manufactured from launch to spring 2002, some of which no longer had valid warranties, had the issue of DVD lasers misaligning or overpowering (or misaligning due to overpowering... it's in the Wikipedia entry). The fix was really easy, but you either voided the warranty if you still had it, or well, you got it fixed by yourself because the warranty was shot already. The endgame of that whole deal was Sony got sued a few times and lost... so they had to reimburse people with the DRE affected PS2s. Why do you think MS gets people to ship them their 360s? It's important to them that's why. They want game sales to continue, because at launch, they were losing money on 360 consoles, a common trend. (The 360 costs more to build than the price of it now, but in time, that will be the opposite.)

Saying that you never had problems with your NES, SNES, whatever, and saying that they were first-gen too... uh, right, they WEREN'T first-gen. Japan usually got the first-gen systems from Sony or Nintendo (First-gen NES was really the Famicom, think about it... only their system was COOLER), and would send the next shipping to the US/Canada, and then the next to Europe. (No clue why, but yeah, that's how it has worked in the past.) Under no circumstances should people blow this small issue out of proportion.  Seriously, this same thing will happen with the Wii and the PS3, and people won't care unless it happens to them anyways.  No need to get all moody and anti-whoever about it.  If you do, I'll laugh at you for your insolence.

Examples I would give of this thing happening before range from the PSP dead-pixels, to the big issue now: the DS Lite hinge cracks (but it's just cosmetic, so whatever works). Of course, the PSP dead-pixel issue had a fix later on too, but affected many early model US handhelds. In Japan, UMDs were flying out of trays. They all have problems.  But Sony fixes them.  Use your head about this and please, don't use arrogance and ignorance as your first weapon to being an idiot online.  If you like posting on the internet so much about it, then why aren't you a PC gamer?

Anyways, keep playing those games, and hey... do yourself a favor... try the PS3 and the Wii before you decide what to buy. I'm actually considering buying a PS3... but not until March, like I did with my 360. No hardware failures yet!

Upcoming wish list for my 360

    1) *check mark here on SF2H*

    2) Forza 2 in October? Sounds like a plan.

    3) *check mark here on Chromehounds*

    4) That MS branded Steering wheel for the 360.

    5) The Xbox Live Vision Webcam. Enough said. (I already have UNO!)

    6) I can dream for an Initial D game for the 360 right? (not likely huh)

    Life without a good TV

Well, I have a TV that I play my Xbox games on.  There's one problem:  my parents' TV hooked up to our Satellite Dish went and cooked itself, leaving me without a TV for a bit whenever they watch it.

Of course, if they aren't watching it, then it's just fine and dandy.  But lately, there hasn't been much of that.

I pray they buy a new TV fast.
