Version 20.0
So, that's it. The end of a naming for an age progression of life. No more "teen" label as I move into my twenty's. I feel like something should commensurate this event, like a light bulb should appear over my head and I'll gain new knowledge previously unknown to my former, lesser self. Would that this were the case but I remain the same indecisive person I was two days ago(The 19th was the actual birthday).
A justification for my actions and my state of being has been removed and I feel somewhat saddened by this. No longer is the idea of being a teenager a valid excuse for my excess for my laziness nor my inexcusable lack of direction for my future.
So when asked "Do I feel like I'm twenty" I have to answer "yes", if only for the fact that the onset of a world I feel ill prepared to face comes rather rapidly. Perhaps this new outlook is for the best, a motivator, an inspiration for change and self improvement. I doubt the substance of this idea, but perhaps it's best not to question it because the lacking of this eventual epiphany is somewhat of a depressing notion. However this path would simply lead back into the comfort of the idea that things will simply work out when left to their own devices.
So a look of introspection, one of evaluating choices and self worth, seems in order.Happy birthay to me

Something kinda sad about
The way that things have come to be.
Desensitized to everything.

Gamers: The Elite
Sometimes I simply have to wonder why we gamers are such a fickle people. When a game does very well it's called casual, when it's extremely popular, it's terrible. It seems like gamers will only appreciate games that are under appreciated; like some sad underdog story, they have to support the ones that are downtrodden and ridicule the ones that are popular.
Lets look at the Halo franchise for the most clear portrait of this story. A game that seems to know boundless success and popularity and yet amongst a fairly devoted group of gamers we see their disdain for such a game, as if the success it has achieved is somehow the most telling point of the games failure.
At what point did the gamers turn into such an arrogant people? We cla-ssify everyone as either "Hardcore" or "Casual" and those that are "Casual" are to be looked down upon, distrusted or ridiculed for their involvement in the gaming community. Why? Simply because they play games less often or because they play "The Popular" games. It's almost hysterically funny if it wasn't so damn sad. When one considers the "Hardcore" sty-le they think of the player devoting large number of hours into the form, but when we see the "Casual" player doing this with his "Casual" games they are disregarded as simply a passing phase.
Unfortunately our little snobbish community has to wake up and realize the gaming is becoming a mainstream area of interest, yet we still wish to resist this as if it were a bad thing. We claim that the "Casuals" are to blame for all the games that are bad and when a game fails upon release? You guessed it, the "Casuals" are to blame for that too.
"They just don't know video games like we do!" Such a repulsive statement; the games we know are just the same as they know, the only difference lies in the interest. So what if you liked a game that tanked? It's not the publics fault that your game didn't get coverage and God knows it wouldn't have done any better if the "Casuals" were gone.
Seriously, to all those that think the general public is destroying gaming as we know it; Grow up. I'm sorry but it needs to be said, you people need to grow up and move on because the fact of the matter is gaming is going to evolve with the times and if your going to lament in the corner about the bygone days of your favorite under appreciated games than you've already lost the true meaning of playing video games; fun.- Posted May 15, 2008 2:54 am PT

Things Come To An End
A couple of endings to talk about.
First off my first semester in college has just come to an end, so that's cool. Finals weren't too bad, but I'll have to wait and see how well I really did.
Second I beat GTA 4. Awesome story, I'm playing through again currently to see some of the other things that can minorly change and the second ending.
Third and final the 'secret' ending to Iron Man. Film was fantastic; That's my three word review and all that really needs to be said. However the special ending or whatever that leads us to the next movie which I'm going to greatly look forward to. I kinda hate the wait for these extra endings, their a pain in the ***, why can't they simply show what is essentially the true ending at the end?Anywho, summer starts and some summer cl-asses. Shouldn't be too bad.
