Story.

This is a very common argument in our chosen life style, The Story of the game we play, are they important, do we care, in game or FMV.

These are all important to adegree to all of us and we all have a stance that we take, for some of us Story has no importance to us, yes it can change from game to game, but typically they don't like or care if a game has a true storyline, for others they want it to have a small amount of story along with great gameplay, while there are those of us who want a great story, and we are willing to take some pretty bad gameplay if we get a fullfiling story out it.

I bring this up because of Final Fantasy VII Dirge of Cerberus which many will argue that it is just a bad game, no and or buts about it, while there are some of us will say we loved it just because we got what we consider to fullfiling story, it is a really complicated thing in this our chosen hobby to try and have a converstation if you are on opposing sides of this particular issue, I think it is partly how the rating system works, we have seen some really good story driven games come out that recive low scores, and we have seen games come out with horrible to no story recieve great scores, now is this fare that is really a matter of opion.

I can understand that a video game is a game and the gameplay should be good but I think this could really be something that could spread into a a big part of the cultur if given the proper attention, that being trully Story Driven games, where as books and movies are seperated into Drama, Action, Horror, they can be considerd great if there is really good preformeces in there chosen genre, and we have seen Horror, movies incorberate Drama and have the Drama part not turn out so well but still be accalimed as a great Horror movie because it did great for the majority of the movie and what it was focusing on, same with books or anything else, Except games, which is why I feel it is a problem because we are so into the game that we can not let our selves sit back and say it has a great story or it has great horror moments that last trough out the game.

Although you will see that it is stated in many reviews that something will have exactly those but do to # system that is used it puts games that try to focus on certain things above gameplay at a sever disadvantge, am I saying that Dirge should be compared to Final Fantasy VII, Halo, Zelda no not exactly, but I fell it is a diservce to our community not recommend story driven games that are more then alot of great games even get half the emotional recation out of through story telling.
Square Enix?

I have to say that I really hope that Square keeps Final Fantasy's on the PS3.

This is not in any way a fan boy comment because I preorderd a X-Box 360 and I can not wait to get it.  To me if they had to put anything on the 360 I would like to see it be the Dragon Quest series.  Another thing if they are going to put it on the 360 make it only be there I don't want to see Final Fantasy become another Multi-Platform game series.

I just would find it weird to have the seires on anything other then the Playstation consoles (quite obviously this does not include Final Fantasy 11 or Final Fantasy the Crystal Chronicles).  The reasoning for not multiplatform is they need to pick a system and put all the work in to making the best possible game and put as much into as they can and not take the time to get differentt controller setteings or any number of things that take place when you go to multiplatform.

This is just one person's opinion and I am not trying to piss any one off but I am sure I will no matter how much that is not my intent.  So no rediculing me to bad guys Later.
