Just wanted to post that I will have limited internet access from Dec 24th to Jan 1st.
Also I was bored last night so I made a new banner which includes some of my favorite sci fic shows. I will more shows to it later.
Happy Holidays!
P.S. I hope Santa is good to me this year.
Edit: Yet another bug. My old banner keeps popping up. Seems to happen when I blog or someone post a comment.

Staying away from TV.com for 24 hours was easy after the design. Last month I picked up four new people guides which is a record for me. I was going for two more guides without editors and then the change happen and I haven't submitted since. Making submissions on the site now gives me a headache for many reasons.
Okay I don't bog much so I'm going to keep this short.1. Get rid of the bright white background - What's with all the white TV.com? Really is all this white needed? It is after labor day and I miss the color blue. I wonder if wearing sunglasses while viewing the site would help? (Leaves to go get sunglasses)

2. Change the tiny grey colored font - While wearing sunglasses helps with blinding white background, it makes reading the new tiny grey font even harder. The font hurts my eyes and I need them to watch television.
3. Fix the renumbering of episodes feature - The buttons to confirm changes are dead which means I have renumber episodes via submission. Thanks for extra contribution points! It feels dirty and almost like gaming.
4. Fix the next and previous buttons located on our submission status page - I had four pending submissions from two weeks ago and I had no way of checking what they where because the previous button doesn't work. The days of me looking at my submissions from 2005 are gone.

5. Tracking of friends blogs - We should be able to see more then just four of our friends recent blogs. Because of this change I'm sure only a few people will even read this.
Note: I've only listed changes staff haven't reported they are working on to fix.

I had a great time at Comic Con this year, but my schedule was just insane.
Wednesday
We passed on preview night this year. We did this to save money but I'm thinking next year preview night is a must just to make picking up our badges easier.
Thursday
We left Los Angeles for Comic Con at 3:30am. While driving to San Diego we passed an over turned Von's truck that had caught fire. No emergency help had arrived on the scene yet, but many people had stopped to help. I mention this because the accident was the cause of many peoples late arrivals. We arrived at the convention a little before 6am. At this point I still have jet lag from my flight from Philadelphia the day before. We picked up our badges around 8:30 am. Because my brother is a writer we never pay to attend Comic Con. All professionals attend for free and they can bring one guest. So again I saved money. Almost all of our friends attend as professionals in fact I think only one of us had a normal attendee badge. Anyway the exhibit hall opened at 9:30am. My first stop was picking up a Comic Con 2008 t-shirt in a size small. The shirts always sell out and the smaller sizes seem to go first.
Panels I Attended
- Dr. Who (12pm - 1pm) - New head writer Steven Moffat and executive producer Julie Gardner where the guest for this panel. I don't watch Dr. Who on a regular bases but after attending this panel I will. They showed clips highlighting Steven Moffat work on the show and also showed and extended trailer/preview of the upcoming Christmas episode. The two panelist where very funny and entertaining.
- Touchwood (1pm - 2pm) - Actors John Barowman, Gareth David-Lloyd, Naoko Mori, Bun Gorman and Executive producer Julie Gardner where guest for the panel. Again another show I don't watch or regular bases but after attending the panel I will definitely be watching. This was another funny and entertaining panel.
- True Blood (4:30pm - 5:30pm) - Actors Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Ryan Kwanten, Rutina Wesley, Sam Trammell and Nelsan Ellis where the guest for this panel along with developer/head writer Alan Ball and Charlaine Harris (the show is based on her novels). The showed us a preview of the show and it looks great. This is coming from a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan who thought that Moonlight was mediocre at best. I had never read Harris's novels prior to attending the panel but I'm currently reading the first book. Thanks to HBO and Comic Con I didn't have to pay for the first book. Everyone that attended the panel was given a red ticket. You had to redeem the ticket in fulfillment room. There we were given a Tru Blood bag which had a T-shirt, a True Blood comic and the book "Dead Until Dark". TV.com attended this panel and did a good job covering it so if you want more information read this. I think this was only panel I attended that TV.com covered.
- Dexter (5:45 pm - 6:45pm) - Actors Michael C. Hall, Julie Benez, writer Clyde Phillips and
executive producer John Goldwyn. The showed us a preview which you can which here. Jimmy Smits will be joining the cast this season. He will become Dexter's new "friend". Some of things we learn during the Q&A are: (minor spoilers but not really)
- Lundy will not be returning this season.
- Deb will start a relationship next season, but it "will not be with whom you'd expect."
- The theme for the 3rd season is family values and the evolution of Dexter as a man.
- Michael C. Hall's favorite kill on the show is Little Chino because of his size.
- There will be a "huge shocking reveal" in the season premiere.
The rest of my time I spent walking the exhibit hall. I picked up comics and some swag. Everyday the Warner Bros booth handed out free bags. Each day they had a different bag. This was an hot item that everyone seem to want. I'll post picture when my stupid camera stops being a pain.
We finally ended up checking into our hotel around 9:45pm. We all showered and had food delivered to our room. I was in bed around 11:30pm. Our alarm is set for 3:15am. Friday's agenda includes the Watchmen panel, The Spirit panel, EW's filmmakers panel and the Kevin Smith panel.
To be continued...hopefully...I'll try not to be lazy this time.

This will be my 7th year in a row attending Comic Con and it seems to get crazier ever year. I'll be leaving on July 22nd and well return on July 31st. This means I will not be attending to my queue during this time. However, if I have time to blog news I will.
I'm all about the television stuff this year. I'm excited that the entire cast of The Sarah Silverman Program will be returning for a panel on Saturday night. It was one of my favorite panels last year so I hope the cast will be as funny as they were last time. I'm also looking forward to the panel for Dollhouse. It will be so nice to have a Joss Whedon show on the air again. Both Eliza and Joss will be there for Q&A. Then there is the Battlestar Galactica panel. Since this my favorite show on television naturally I will attend the panel. I'm really going to miss this show. I still can't believe this is the last season.
Unfortunately like every year in the past I have some decisions to make. I have to choose between attending the Pushing Daisies panel or the Chuck panel because they occur at the same time. I like Chuck but I think Pushing Daisies will win this one. I really enjoyed their panel last year. I also have to choose between the Eureka panel and the Fringe panel. I still don't know which one to pick at this point.
I will attend other panels but I'm too lazy to list them all.
When I'm not attending panels I'll be checking out the floor to pick up some comics, play some new video games and get as much swag as I can.
Lastly I have to say hats off to Comic Con for finally understanding that sometimes television shows have more fans than feature films. This year both the Heroes and Lost panel will be held in Hall H. YAY!!!!

In the past 72 hours I have spent around $200.00 on dvds at Best Buy. A number of television series were on sale last week and more went on sale today. What did I get for $200.00 bucks?
- South Park (season one) - South Park has been on my wish list for awhile. When I saw them of sale for $19.99 last week and then $14.99 this week I couldn't past them up.
- South Park (season two)
- South Park (season three)
- South Park (season four)
- South Park (season five)
- Picket Fences (season one) - I have been waiting for this to go on sale forever it seems. ($16.99)
- The X Files (season five) - I have been a fan of The X Files from day one, but for some reason I still don't own all of the seasons yet. I have four more seasons to go.
- Carnivale (season one) - When a HBO show you like is on sale for $19.99, buy it! This dvd is normally around $55.00.
- Carnivale (season two)
- Flight of the Conchords (season one) - On sale for $17.99
- News Radio (season five) - I have seasons one thru four of the show and originally I said I wasn't going to buy season five because the show wasn't really funny after Phil Hartman passed away. However, I realized the smart Matthew aka Smatthew aka Flowers for Matthew episode was in season five. I love that episode. Since it was on sale I had to get it. ($19.99)
My total was only $190.69!! I really have a hard time passing up sales when television series are involved. The store has a number of shows on sale for $16.99 and a number HBO shows are also on sale for a good price. My dvd collection as of today totals 820 titles. Oh my!

I'm so glad the days of camping out for tickets are gone. I woke up this morning around 9:00am and made a couple of phone calls. At 9:45 I went to Comcasttix.com to set up an account. When tickets went on sale at 10:00am I was able to get two tickets in my favorite section in a matter of seconds. Yes good tickets are $350.00 a pop, but I've been a fan for 18 years so it's money well spent.

I'm sure everyone is happy that the 3 month long writer strike has come to an end.
The letter posted on United Hollywood from the WGA presidents:
To Our Fellow Members:
On Tuesday, members of the Writers Guilds East and West voted by a 92.5% margin to lift the restraining order that was invoked on November 5th. The strike is over.
Writing can resume immediately. If you were employed when the strike began, you should plan to report to work on Wednesday. If you're not employed at an office or other work site, call or e-mail your employer that you are resuming work. If you have been told not to report to work or resume your services, we recommend that you still notify your employer in writing of your availability to do so. Questions concerning return-to-work issues should be directed to the WGAW legal department at 323.782.4521 or the WGAE's assistant executive director Ann Toback at 212-767-7823.
The decision to begin this strike was not taken lightly and was only made after no other reasonable alternative was possible. We are profoundly aware of the economic loss these fourteen weeks have created not only for our members but so many other colleagues who work in the television and motion picture industries. Nonetheless, with the establishment of the WGA jurisdiction over new media and residual formulas based on distributor's gross revenue (among other gains) we are confident that the results are a significant achievement not only for ourselves but the entire creative community, now and in the future.
We hope to build upon the extraordinary energy, ingenuity, and solidarity that were generated by your hard work during the strike.
Over the next weeks and months, we will be in touch with you to discuss and develop ways we can use our unprecedented unity to make our two guilds stronger and more effective than ever.
Now that the strike has ended, there remains the vote to ratify the new contract. Ballots and information on the new deal, both pro and con, will be mailed to you shortly. You will be able to return those ballots via mail or at a membership meeting to be held Monday, February 25th, 2008, at times and locations to be determined.
Thank you for making it possible. As ever, we are all in this together.
Best,
Patric M. Verrone
President, WGAW
Michael Winship
President, WGAEWell my friends can go back to work. The talks of new projects for my brother hopefully will resume in the near future. No more stupid shows like American Gladitors being added to the schedule (hopefully). The sun is starting to come out. I'm happy again. It's time to make another trip to Los Angeles.

This is my first blog of 2008. Lets look back quickly at the year 2007 in my world of video games and television.
Video Games
Favorite Game of 2007: Rock Band
- I love this game. I can't stop playing. My friends come over to play and they don't leave until 3am.
Excepted Favorite of 2008: Grand Theft Auto IV
- I should have playing this game last year. I hope the release delay is worth the wait.
The highlights of my 2007 in terms of video games would have to be the three midnight game launches I attended for Halo 3, Guitar Hero 3 and Rock Band. All of which had tournaments. I had a blast at all three and got very little sleep.
Television
Favorite new show of the 2006-2007 television season: 30 Rock
- I really don't understand why this show has low ratings. The show is one of the funniest shows on the air. It's Arrested Development all over again. I hope 30 Rock has more than three seasons.
Favorite new show of the 2007-2008 television season (so far): Pushing Daisies
- So far so good plus the show does well in the ratings. I only wish Wonderfalls had this shows successes.
The highlights of 2007 in terms of television by far for me was meeting many of the cast and crew of Gilmore Girls and hanging with them for two days (see entry). It ended being the shows last season which makes me even more grateful for that opportunity. I also ended becoming friends with the director who now invites me to the set of whatever show she is working on when I'm in town. She is a really nice woman and she has been in the business for a long time.
My Autograph Collection
I was looking at some of my old blog entries and realized I haven't updated my autograph collection list since 2005. So here is an update. All of the autographs I have listed were obtained in person. If there is a number next to person it means I have obtained their autograph a number times. Most of the autograph are from meeting actors and writers at Comic-Con. The Megan Mullally autograph I obtained on the set of the Will & Grace after attending two tapings. The Lauren Graham and Jackson Douglas autographs I obtained on the set of Gilmore Girls. The names listed below in red are the new autographs I have added.

For years my favorite autograph has been my Megan Mullally autograph. She was really nice and I have met her three times. However after meeting Lauren Graham last year, I have to admit that her autograph is now my favorite. She was someone I really wanted to meet. Thank god she was as nice as I hoped she would be. So...who would I like to meet next? I definitely have to say Tina Fey.
A New List
Over the years I have taken pictures with many of the famous people I have met, so last year I finally decided to put together a really nice photo album for all of my pictures. Below is a list of the people in my album. This list is slighty different because I don't always get a persons autograph when I meet them but I will take a picture with them. Pictures are better anyway. Right?

So much has been going on since I last posted about the strike. Well lets start with loser Carson Daly returning to work. I'm sure most of you have read that Last Call With Carson Daly will be the first late night talk show to resume production. Ok so Carson is not a WGA member but he asking his "friends" (non-WGA writers) to write his lame jokes. Read about it here.

Favorite Support Videos of the Past Couple of Weeks
- Writer Boi WGA - A funny WGA strike "hip-hop anthem" filled with clever shout-outs to show, actors, writers, showrunners etc. It also takes a dig at Ellen for her lack of support. lol
- Speechless Episode 1: Nov 22 - A video from The Speechless site which has a number of videos with actors shows their support.
- The Strike, Your Marriage and You - A funny video made by Samantha Who? writer Bob Kushell with a little help from Christina Applegate.
- Support Jericho Writers! - A video made by Jericho fans.

My Pencils2MediaMoguls Support (Week 2 & 3) - Week two I supported some of my favorite tv writers and week three I supported my favorite shows again. To support click here. The Shows

Lastly to all the people that think all writers make so much money watch this video called Who's on the Line. My brother is a writer. He is not a member of the WGA but he is a member of The Animation Guild/I.A.T.S.E. He has sold five scripts total in his career. He is far from rich. In fact I'm paying for his plane ticket to come home for the holidays.

I think that most people who are reading this are aware of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) Strike. I'm not going to go into a discussion of why they are striking. For people who want more information on why and what the writers want check out some of these videos.
So what can we do as supporters? Well my brother went out to the picket lines last friday for fan day. For the rest of us who don't live in Los Angeles or New York we can start by doing one or two things.1. Show your support by signing the WGA petition.
2. Show your support by joining the Pencils2MediaMoguls campaign.

I plan to send 10 boxes a week until the strike is over in support of my some of my favorite shows.
Boxes Sent on 11/17/07
30 Rock = 3 boxes
The Office = 1 box
Scrubs = 1 box
The Sarah Silverman Program = 1 box
Pushing Daisies = 1 box
Battlestar Galactica = 1 box
Samantha Who? = 1 box
Family Guy = 1 box
Total Boxes Sent = 10
I realize not everyone is willing or able to shell out money to show support but I hope everyone that reads this will at least sign the petition. The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) has agreed to sit down with the WGA on November 26th. Lets hope they can come to an agreement.

First off let me say that these jerks that recorded footage of films that were exclusive to Comic-Con and are putting them up on YouTube for the second year in a row have to be stopped. The Con is either going to say no video cameras in hall H or the studios are going to send less or no footage.
Anyway on Thursday I went to the Paramount Pictures Panel, George Romero Panel and the Fanboys panel.
Paramount - We saw clips from Beowolf, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Stardust, Hot Rod, and Iron Man. Andy Samberg, Neil Gainman, JJ Abrams, Jon Favreau made appearances to promote their films. Steven Speilberg talked to us via satellite from the set of Indiana Jones with Harrison Ford, Shia LeBeouf and the big surprise was Karen Allen. So this means Marion Ravenwood is back! She looked great too. Moving on, during the Star Trek portion of the panel another surprise was the announcement of Zachary Quinto (Heroes) playing the part of Spock in the next movie. He came out on stage along with Leonard Nimoy, who will also appear in the film. Oh and I can't forget about Slusho! Slusho is a monster movie with a fake title. We saw the trailer, we got a free t-shirt and movie poster. JJ Abrams still isn't giving us any information. There are all kinds of rumors on the net. Slusho! aka Cloverfield or 1-18-08
George Romero - The panel had a good Q&A. He signed autographs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Fans got a chance to met and talk to him for a bit if you caught him at a good time.
Fanboys - A movie about a group of fanboys that try to break into Skywalker Ranch and see Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace before it is released. Cast members Dan Fogler, Sam Huntingto, Chris Marquette (Joan of Aracadia), and Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars) where there. Plus the writer/director and two producers. Overall great panel. Kristen Bell was about five minutes late but she showed and she was funny. We saw MANY long clips. The movie looks fun and a must for any Star Wars fan.
Highlight of the day: The Iron Man trailers (the real & fake one)
Swag of the day: Slusho! shirt & poster and Iron Man shirt (I'll put up pictures later)
ADD kicking in...more later...hey at least I did spell check and slowed down this time.

Well it was crazier this year then ever. Everyday sold out. I still can't believe how many people were there this year. I met MANY newbies to the con. Many weren't prepared and it showed. I gave some of them tips for next year while others (the whiners and the people who came ONLY because of Heroes) I just laughed at.
Line control is normally the biggest problem at Comic-Con. Too many of the employees of the convention center have no idea what they are doing. However I must say this year was much better. The line to Hall H had it's problems on Thursday morning but that was it. For the most part I was pleased with line and crowd control.
So my complaint this year is Comic-Con underestimating the fan base of a little tv show called Heroes. They put Heroes in Ballroom 20 which seats 4,250. Although this is their second largest room it wasn't big enough. Thousands of people were shut out of the panel because the room reached its maximum capacity. Comic-Con NEVER puts television shows in hall H, which is their largest hall that seats 6,500. They puts all the movie studios in H hall. So while thousands of people didn't make it in for the Heroes panel, thousands of seats were empty during the Rogue/Focus Studios panel in hall H. STUPID MOVE COMIC-CON! Just cause it's a movie studio doesn't mean it will fill the seats.
Anyway here is a quick overview of my four day stay.
Number of panels attended: 15 1/2
Number of pilot screening attended: 2
Number of panels missed due to overcrowding: 1
Number of new video games played: 3
Number of autographs obtained: 2
Number of t-shirts purchased: 4
Number of free t-shirts obtained: 7
Number of comics purchased: 3
Number of free comic obtained: 6
Number of free posters obtained: 8
Panel that gave away the most swag: Paramount (3 t-shirts & 3 movie posters)
Panel that gave away the most unique swag: Pushing Daisies (cherry pie & ipod speakers)
Biggest let down panel: 20th Century Fox backing out. LOSERS!!!!
Most exceptive swag: Warner Bros via One Missed Call panel. Everyone that asked a question got an iphone!!!
Funniest Panel: Tie between Kevin Smith and The Sarah Silverman Program
I'm tired and I have ADD...I'll write more later.

Vacation
Okay first off I will be on vacation in California for two weeks starting Monday the 23rd. I will more then likely have internet access but will ignore my queue because I'M ON VACATION!!! WOO HOO!!!
Comic-Con
So it's that time a year again. Comic-Con is next week. I'll be going with my brother and about five or six of our friends. For the first time ever Comic Con has sold out of its four day pass which is just plain crazy. Some are predicting that around 150,000 people will attend this year. Luckily we all got our professional passes last year when attendance was only 123,000.

Television at Comic-Con
Every year they have panels for television shows at Comic-Con and this year The Sarah Silverman Program (a show I am the editor of) will have a panel this year. I will attend this panel, take tons of pictures and report back. If any fans from tv.com have questions about show for the cast, feel free to post them here or send me a PM. I will do my best to get in as many questions as I can.

20Jun 07
Next month will be a very busy month for me and it always is. I'll be in New York for a few days and I'll be in California for a couple of weeks. I'll be in Los Angeles most of the time but for four days I'll be in sunny San Diego for the annual Comic-Con. Woo-Hoo!
Comic Con
For people who don't know what Comic-Con is, it's a wonderful playland for people that love comics, movies, television and video games. I work overtime like crazy in June and spend all money here. Comic-Con has been the testing audience for shows like Lost and Heroes. We saw them first and had a little Q&A session with the show's writers and cast. Big names in television, film and of course comics are at the con every year. My autograph collection has grown and grown mainly due to this event. I've been going to Comic-Con since 2002, so this will be my sixth year going. Every year it gets bigger and bigger, which is both good and bad. It's becoming more mainstream which means longer lines but it also means more choices. Last year I had to choose between going to the Veronica Mars panel or The 4400 panel. Each panel had most of the main cast memebers in attendence. I choose Veronia Mars because I feared the show would have it's plug pulled soon. It seems I made the right choice since Veronica Mars won't be returning for a fourth season. Anyway I'll post more about Comic-Con later when I find out the schedule.
Another Day on Another Set
So I have been invited to spend at least one day on the set of a new show while I'm in Los Angeles. I made a friend those days I was on the Gilmore Girls set (read this entry). Now that the show is over my friend has a new job on a new show. It's amazing how much you can learn in a couple of days about a show or television in general if you talk to the right people and ask the right questions. So what show is it? I'll give you one hint for now. A person I'm the editor for is one of the actors on the show. I have to make sure I go on a day she'll be on the set. I can't wait! I'm so excited! It will be really interesting going to a set of a show that hasn't aired yet.
