Like my blog title says I had my first day today and it was kind of... Good I guess? The first day of school never has much to do. What we basically did is we learned the Code of Conduct. Also the Dean told us something I would have never been able to learn through common sense. She told us that we were not allowed to bring Bazookas to school or light stuff on fire. From what I can tell she wasn't trying to be funny, although I got a good laugh out of it. Also tell me if you find something wrong with the first rule in the Code of Conduct. I will type it exactly as it is written:
"I will be respectful at all times and obedient unless asked to do wrong."
That's exactly how it's written. This rule has been like that since the beggining of Middle School. Anyways, I also talked with a girl I've liked since Middle Schooltoday for a little while and I think she likes me but I'm not entirely sure. Women are pretty confusing
.
Anyways, bye andhave a nice day.- Posted Aug 24, 2009 7:21 pm PT

*Note: I do not claim to own any of these pictures. They are from the Internet(Bugguide.com and vr360floridavillas.com*
When I was little I used to love searching for bugs because I found them fascinating. It seems like I still like to look for them so I've started doing it again. I've also been trying to take pictures of themWell, today I was looking outside my house for bugs and I came across a few that were pretty cool.
First of all I found an Assassin bug. I'm not sure if this is the exact species I found but it's the closest I can find to the one I found:
The bug I found was on a tree moving rather slowly. Apparently, some species can be dangerous to humans and I'm not sure if this was one of those.
After walking for a little while I found an area that had tons of bees, wasps, dragonflies, hornets, etc. I was wondering if I was going to see any big bugs today since the assassin bug was pretty tiny. Then I turned to the left because I saw a wasp fly by my head and what do I see right next to me?
*Dramatic tension*
After jumping about 40 feet away from it due to my arachnophobia I looked closer to try and figure out what it is. Then I try to get some pictures of it and then a poor bee/hornet/yellow jacket(I forget which it was) flies into the web. I thought the creature might be able to fight the spider off but in less than a few seconds it was wrapped up and being eaten 0.o. See the zig zag pattern in it's web? You probably think that it has a practical reason to be there, right? Well, it turns out that it there purely for decoration. You wouldn't think a spider would have decorations bug apparently they do. It could be that to we humans it seems impractical but to the spider it may seem like a way to attract prey.
Anyways, that's just about everything interesting I found so far today. Bye and have a nice day.- Posted Aug 23, 2009 2:02 pm PT

I was looking up videos of spiders on Youtube trying to diagnose a certain spider and I came across a video about a Jumping Spider. I'm arachnophobic, so when I see a spider I think it's cute there is something weird going on. Anyways, I looked up pictures of them on Google and found this website:
http://villageofjoy.com/jumping-spider-goes-to-a-photo-session-15-pictures/
Some of these can actually be considered cute by me. Also here's the video I saw:

I even made a gif image of one of my favorite parts:

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, the side quest is that you must do 30 super jumps off the head of an enemy in a row. After that you must do 100 jumps in a row. This means you must have perfect timing. My highest number of jumps in a row is 22 and I don't seem to be improving... I hate this side quest so much. I'm going for 99 percent though so I'll keep trying. Why 99 percent? Well, I missed a one-chance hidden treasure chest at the beginning of the game
. Oh well, I'm off to continue the side quest...

A while back I died a couple of times to Jonathan Jones in the Sunken Ship level and I gave up. However, yesterday I went back and did some training and then I proceeded to take everything in my path down. Anyways, I beat Smithy and then decided to go fight the optional boss that is known as Culex. Basically I used peach + Lazy Shell Armor + Star Egg. With the Lazy Shell Armor Peach was made invincible to most attacks and took very little damage from the other attacks. The Star Egg item did 100 damage to every enemy at once each time it was used and it could be used infinitely. Anyways, it was easier than I expected. Well, now I'm off to try to get the Super Jump side quest completed. Wish me luck

In Animal Crossing I'm missing 1 bug: the Giant Petaltail. From what I read it is a giant dragonfly that is really fast and that if you want to catch it you should box it into a corner. Also it's a rare bug so it might take awhile to appear. I've never seen one and there are no videos on Youtube about it so I'll just have to assume that if Isee a big dragonfly I should catch it.
I still haven't found it once after an hour or two of searching
. This should be easy compared to one of my next objectives: the Coelacanth. I'm not quite there yet though. I still need to catch a jellyfish and a King Salmon before I go for the Coelacanth. Jellyfish are common I think so it shouldn't be too difficult to get. I kind of want to get a lighthouse before I go for the Coelacanth though. That way it might be a little easier to get it. I need to raise around600, 000 bells first... I guess I'll sell some stuff I don't need anymore to Nook.
Oh well, bye and have a nice day.
EDIT: I caught the Giant Petaltail

I recently figured that I would try to catch all of the bugs and fish after I succeeded in catching a Tarantula. I then moved on to catch a Scarab, Peacock Butterfly, etc. I only have a few more bugs to go and one creature after days of trying to get it is still giving me trouble: the Scorpion. I hate it so much. Whenever I see one it either stings me or suicides into the ocean/river/pond. Also one magically ran into a wall and vanished. If there is one thing that bugs(no pun intended) me it's a magic Scorpion. I found a few scorpions yesterday. One bit me, one suicided, one vanished, one bit me, etc.It might not be a problem if they weren't so rare. Plus sometimes Tarantulas show up instead of scorpions. I've caught about four of them already while looking. One is now my pet in my basement. I haven't given him a name yet though. A few times I heard a scorpion hissing but couldn't see it... Then I heard the dreadful plop sound and I knew that the poor scorpion had drowned itself trying to stay away from me. Oh, how I long to hear that hissing in a place where there is no water for it to kill itself in. *Sigh* I just caught another Tarantula... Although this one taught me how to catch the Scorpion easier. I'll lead the Scorpion right next to an elevated plain so it can't up to where I am. Then take my net out which will trigger the Scorpions "Murder stupid human" instinct so it will charge at me. Tarantulas might have the chance to jump up the ledge but Scorpions can't
bwahahahahahahaha! I actually have two goals right now:
1.Catch Scorpion.
2. Catch Hercules Beetle.
For some reason I can't find any Hercules Beetles on my coconut trees so far. I knew they were rare but wow. They must be super/uber rare or something like that.
In related news, by selling expensive bugs I don't need I was able to completely pay off that cheapskate Nook.
By the way, I just caught.............................. Another Tarantula
. Is it too much to ask to get a scorpion around here?
I'm playing the game as I right this and it appears that my neighbor saw me catch that tarantula and now she wants it. She's giving me a better price than Nook by about 3, 000 bells so I think I'll give it to her. Oh, also if you talk to a neighbor while your being chased by a Scorpion/Tarantula they'll kindly tell you that you are being chased by a Scorpion/Tarantula just in case you didn't notice that there was a bug-shaped bullet coming towards you. Of course, while you were talking the creature most likely caught up to you and is now ready to bite as soon as you stop talking. Why do the things wait you may ask? Well it's probably either:
1. They want you to hate your neighbors.
2. They want to prolong your suffering.
3. They are polite.
I'm leaning towards answer number two.
Oh well, wish me luck. Bye and have a nice day.- Posted Aug 2, 2009 10:30 am PT

*Note: The power went out at the end of about six paragraphs of typing and I probably can't type it with the same "feeling" I typed it with the first time so please bear with me.*
Sorry I haven't been on in awhile. My family has been going through some rough times and honestly I got a little bored with this place. I will try to be more active though. I haven't posted on any unions, blogs, or forums in awhile but on the few times I logged in I was in those places... Lurking in the shadows
.
In other news, I have been playing Pokemon in some of my spare time and I have decided that I will no longer use Action Replay due to the bad feeling I get when I hack
. Don't worry though, I never hacked until I had beaten the game so getting through the game the first time was very difficult... Especially with my under-leveled Pokemon. Also I'm probably going to get SoulSilver when it comes out since Pokemon has sucked me back in. I can understand why I love it so much though, I basically grew up with the games and they even helped teach me how to read(more than my school did anyways
).
Lately I've been looking up deep-sea creatures and to tell you the truth they are quite interesting. True, they may scare the heck out of me and I may have to cover up half of the Wikipedia page I'm on with a shirt so I don't see the hideous monster but they still are quite interesting
. Also you may think I'm a coward for being creeped out by a picture but seriously those things are weird. It's hard to believe stuff like that even exists down there in the ocean but it does. Man, I hope I never come face to face with one of those creatures though or I might... Actually I don't know what I would do
... It's pretty unlikely I'll ever find out though since I will probably never be in a submarine deep in the ocean... Or will I? *Dramatic music plays*
Also I will now type a quote from something I've recently seen in a let's play. If you can correctly guess what game it's from you can have a virtual cookie
. Here's the quote: "Graham watch out, a poisonous snake!" It's the pronunciation of the word "Poisonous" that makes this quote so hilarious.
Also today when I checked my page I noticed that I had 20 emblems instead of 18 or 19(depending on if the Outlier decided to show up). Anyways, it appears that I made enough banners that were excepted to get the "Artistic Genius" and "Beyond Bob Ross" emblems
.
Because you've mastered that Photoshop gradient tool.

Beyond Bob Ross

So I think that's just about everything I need to say... Oh wait, I might change my icon soon so you should take in the pwnsomenicity(WTHpossessed me to put this jumbled mess of aword hereinstead of the word 'Awesomeness' you may ask... Well, I have absolutely no idea about that at all
.) of Skull Guy while you still can
. Well, anyways bye and have a nice *looks at thebottom rightcornerof my computer screen that says 1:13 AM* morning

I heard it would be hard but it was actually pretty easy
. Also the strangest thing has happened... I had stopped playing Pokemon completely because I thought I was to old for it and I never planned to play it again. Then a few days ago I watched a Pokemon Yellow walkthough because the person who made the walkthrough usually has good commentary and is funny and then in my house I came across Pokemon Pearl in my room. After I beat the game it got boring and I eventually turned to an Action Replay(which actually makes a game less fun so I don't support its use) and used it to get Darkrai, Arceus, Shaymin which I would have never been able to get otherwise. I figured that I might play it because Pokemon Yellow in those videos reminded me of how fun Pokemon could be. Anyways, I was playing it today and I suddenly thought "I want to train a caterpie into the ultimate champion." Why did I think this? Well, I'm not sure... Then I looked into the pokedex to find out where I could find one and I was disappointed to see that caterpies could not be caught in Pokemon Pearl. I then came to the conclusion that I must use the AR Max to get... A caterpie. I honestly didn't think anyone could truly hate me for getting a caterpie but if you want to hate me then go right ahead
. So now I'm training my caterpie(actually it's a butterfree now) to level 100... It's taking quite a while but I'm determined to succeed. Also it may or may not be a shiny butterfree
. I had the cheat there so i thought I would use it. Also I don't have Wi-fi hooked up on my DS and I would never cheat against someone. The only cheats I use are to get a certain Pokemon... And possibly to make it shiny... I wonder if I'll be moderated for mentioning an AR Max... I hope not... Also I played Animal Crossing: City Folk today and cataloged the Punch-Out headgear DLC from someone because it was only released to the Europeans. It kind of seems like American DLC is always the worst DLC. They get punch-Out headgear, we Americans get a flag design with the mayors face on it. Does this look like something anyone would truly want?
Note: This picture updates with the Nintendo site so some good things will appear on it. The original thing I thought was bad was the Tortimer flag.
Also a while back we got a bag that contained 1,000 bells for Tax Day which was a joke. I could easily gocatch a few fish and sell them to croo- I mean... Um...Nook for a few thousand bells. Anyways, bye and have a nice day.- Posted Jun 19, 2009 9:57 pm PT

If your a serious gamer there is a very good chance that you know about a lot of the controversy that is caused by violent video games. People heads exploding, fatalities, etc. have turned a lot of people into video game hating zombies that believe violent video games cause people to become more aggressive. Some even believe that these games will make people commit the crimes that happen in the games. One notable person is Jack Thompson, he has talked about many games such as Halo that, in his opinion, cause violence in schools.
I believe graphics play a major role in all of this. As games have become more advanced players have gone from seeing a small group of pixels separating to seeing someone's body explode. It's still the same amount of violence but most wouldn't think it was since it can't be seen as well.
The action game genre is basically where most, if not all, of the violent video games are grouped so it will be broken down into a few sub-genres in order to explain them better.
First-person shooter games are one of the major violent video game sub-genres. In these games the player has a gun and the player sees through the characters eyes. In a nutshell the objective is to go through levels and defeat your opponents until you get to the end of the game. What makes these games a prime target for the media is that the player is seeing through the characters eyes so it's almost like you're really in that situation killing whatever is deemed as an enemy.
This looks pretty realistic, eh?Another type of violent game is the fighter sub-genre. These games focus on beating your opponents into submission. When one of the characters life bars hits zero they are knocked out. A wide variety of moves are at the players disposal that vary depending on what character is chosen. Some fighter games are more violent than others. One such series of games is the Mortal Kombat franchise, these games have a lot of blood and fatalities which are finishing moves. It has also been said that the this series partially led to the creation of the ESRB(Entertainment Software Rating Board).
Action-adventure games can also be violent. These games throw puzzle elements in with physical elements. One example is Assassin's Creed where your character, Altair, carries out assassinations. It's under the action-adventure category due to the things the character has to do to get information such as eavesdropping. Even though they have puzzle elements, they can still be violent.

An epic duel to the death. The ratings on these violent games are important. When it is said that the video game companies should be blamed completely for their violent games falling into the hands of teens and children I die a little inside. The parents should be the ones being blamed. If they don't care to the point that they'll buy their 11 year old child a M-rated game then it is their own fault. The ESRB puts those ratings there for a reason yet many people apparently don't notice them. The rating are put there so that parents don't buy a game that will hurt the impressionable psyche of their child. However, it is kind of pointless when the parents don't even consider checking the rating.

What do they think the "M" stands for... Marvelous?Actually it's kind of sad and funny that apparently all of the blame should go to video games and not TV, normal aggression, bullies, neglectful or inconsiderate parents, drugs, etc. None of that has anything to do with it right?(sarcasm) It might actually be better that people have violent games. The games are useful when someone is angry and they want to let off some steam. Not getting rid of that anger could, in turn, cause the person to get angry at the next individual who decides to give them a hard time and possibly might make him/her do something they might regret.
So how do you feel about violence in video games? Do you feel like these games should be left alone, banned, etc.? Please leave a comment with your thoughts on the subject. Bye and have a nice day.

It has only been a few minutes since I got it so I haven't really had time to formulate an opinion of it yet... But from what I've noticed it had made the top of the screen more cluttered than I had it set to so I naturally got rid of everything that wasn't necessary to me. So now all I have is the Command bar at the top and the status bar at the bottom. This update was kind of pointless and my computer even seems a tad bit shorter... Oh well, in the words of Storm Dain "I guess I won't lose any sleep over it." Also my speakers have of a static sound then I remember when I play videos on my computer. Every few seconds it will make a shrill static noise and it's starting to give me a headache. I guess it could just be a random anomaly, but I'm not sure
. I'll probably get used to this eventually though it may take quite a while.
P.S.1 -I'm kind of curious about something. Here on Gamespot how often is a Scavenator held? I've never participated in one yet due to the fact that I wasn't here on Halloween... Or in that month for that matter... I had a lot of inactivity for awhile
. Anyways I plan to stay active for quite some time and I know that if I leave I will most likely return. I never quit Gamespot or any other site I join, I merely take very long breaks occasionally.
P.S. 2 - *Spoilers may or may not follow*I also played and beat Peasants Quest today on HomestarRunner.com
. It was pretty easy since I had an Internet guide to use. Here's a link to me being "Burninated" by Trogdor at the end of the game:
Warning: This image might not be for the faint of heart.

As this "=/" face clearly indicates I'm a little conflicted. My emblems are kind of weird now... Since of the whole Gamespot releasing eight of them for E3. Now because a lot of other people also got all of them my profile doesn't look very unique.
Example:
Do you notice something similar(besides the fact that we all apparently like the color blue...)?
Like I said a lot of people got the emblems so a lot of profile emblems look like this right now. Oh and don't get me wrong, I'm glad for the people who got these emblems and I'd like to thank VinceLfor doing such a good job getting the E3 emblems to everyone who deserved them
.
Now you may wonder where I'm going with this. Well I have no idea... JK... myolscame up with a few ideas for Gamespot in thisthread. I especially like the idea for the emblems. I am kind of curious as to what would happen if you had an emblem that "Plays games(it disappears, an example is the Outlier emblem)". Would it just show seven emblems and wait for the emblem to return or would there be an emblem in reserve that could be chosen in case of this happening? Anyways this emblem option is needed more than ever right now. The other ideas are awesome as well. An easier way to get to reviews and blogs would be a good idea
. Lastly, a "Most Anticipated List" would definitely be helpful for people who want to know a certain users taste in games and what kind of stuff they want the most. Anyways, I'm giving my full support to these ideas and if you feel the same then I encourage you to make a blog about it. If you don't want to do that then you could just post a message in the topic. If your a skeptic then that's fine as well. No idea in history has ever gone undisputed
. Anyways, bye and have a nice day
.

It's called Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus, here is why it's so awesome:
1. The stunning visual effects
The effects were brilliant, they must have gotten some of the best animators on Earth to help with this
. That's just how good it was. Oh and the transition thing where the screen turns gray and then it turns white is amazing. They used it so many times that it became a very memorable part of the movie.
1,000/5
2. The amazing acting
The acting was brilliant. Making them look bored and like they didn't want to be there made me feel like I had a connection to them on some level.
1337/5
3. The lighting
Their original film that can be seen in the bloopers looked awesome so to make it better they decided to take a chance and make it darker. This gave it a weird fake-looking quality, but it's still awesome.
91347/5
4. Sound quality
Like this was the best sound I ever heard! I had to like turn my TV up really high to get a better idea of what they were saying because it's almost like they recorded the voices at a really low volume. Oh and I loved how the Mega Shark sounded like a dinosaur because it made me think of Jurassic Park.
334/5
5. The movie in a nutshell*awesome spoilers follow**Destruction of the English sentence structure follows*
Well some people were in a submarine and they saw some whales and then they saw a Giant Octopus and then the Octopus destroyed and oil drilling thingy and then the people talked and then the Mega Shark jumped thousands of feet into the air and ate an airplane and then the people talked and then they lured the Mega Shark to San Francisco because that's a good idea and then they attacked it and it ate their battleship and it took a bite out of the Golden Gate Bridge and in Japan they had lured to Giant Octopus there and they couldn't destroy it and then they lured them both to Alaska and then they chase a submarine and then they fight and kill each other and then the people talk and hint that there may BE A SEQUEL!!!
ZOMG!!! That would be awesome!!! I can't wait to see like a giant Sea Anemone fight a Mega Seahorse!
1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000/5
*Sarcasm and the slaughtering of the English language ends here*
This is my real review:
1. The atrocious visual effects
The effects look like they were made by High School students or even Middle School students. The effects were so bad that I laughed at how bad they were. The monsters look like someone put some toys in the water and filmed them.
3/5
2. The "acting"
I could tell that the actors didn't really want to be there. When aMegalodon and a Giant Octopus are attacking don't you think that the actors should maybe look a little shaken up?
1/5
3. The lighting
I saw how the video originally looked in the bloopers and it looked okay. My question is why on Earth would they make it darker. It almost gave the movie a fake-looking appearance.
2/5
4. Sound quality
It sounded like the actor's voices were on a very low volume to begin and if you turn it up it just barely makes their voices louder and it makes the effects louder than you want them to be.
3/5
5. Movie in a nutshell
You can get the basic idea from my sarcastic "Best Movie EVAR* review above.
9/20
This "movie" wasn't that great but if you want a good laugh then go check it out. I actually did enjoy this movie... As a comedy.

Instead of Donkey Kong being the secret character, Captain Falcon was the secret character
. It might be a little unfair though since he could probably kill Little Mac with one Falcon Punch though. Maybe after you beat him you could be able to play as him, that would be awesome.Well, that was my random thought of the day I guess. By and have a nice day

Well, yesterday on Punch-Out I got to Sandman and after about ten to twenty tries I beat him
. Once you get his move-set down he's really simple to beat. Now I've just beat Glass Joe in Title Defense after a few tries. The reason I lost is because I went into the ring thinking these things:
1. I just beat Sandman, there's no way I can lose.
2. What harm could Glass Joe possibly cause?
I was pretty careless and I was shocked when he beat me
. Then I reset the Wii since I wasn't sure about what would happen if I lost the belt. Then when I tried again I was serious and I beat him easily. I suppose I'll move on to Von Kaiser next.
Thanks for reading and have a nice day

I don't have much to write about since it has been boring lately... Let's see, I'm fifteen percent into level 20
. Well, I guess I'll just make the rest of this blog into an advertisement for the e3 Discussion Union. The e3 Discussion Unionis a "Union for e3 Discussion and Telegrams about e3 Emblems / events." It is mostly for e3 but the union will have discussions about games that were revealed during e3 as well. We're hoping the union will become a hit and last through many e3s and that it will stay active throughout the years.
That's all I have to say so... bye and have a nice day.
EDIT: I just realized that this is blog #90, yayz!

I got past the first circuit with somewhat ease, Glass Joe and his crescents were taken down quickly, Von Kaiser was beaten with the power of danishes(random joke I made during the fight that makes no sense), I used my hatred for Disco Kid to destroy him, but King Hippo ,however, was pretty annoying for me
. Anyways, in the second circuit was pretty easy, Piston Hondo and his honor were annihilated, Bear Hugger K.O.'ed me a few times, then after that I got to that Great Tiger... I hate him so much. I know he's a genie but teleportation should not be allowed
. It took me over seven tries to beat him. Then I got to Don Flamenco and... Beat him on my first try
. I thought he would be the most annoying one yet but he was only a little harder than Glass Joe for me. By the way,a cutscene was initiated in the fight where something that looked like hair was knocked off of his head. It looked like it made him really angry... Was this supposed to happen? I read something on the forums one time about someone trying to knock the crown off King Hippo's head, so is this like that? The toughest thing about the fights is that I get used to how a certain character fights and then when I move on to the next I have to learn a whole new strategy.
BTW, it was hilarious when on the Great Tiger fight, the Great Tiger switched places with the Doc
. Bye and have a nice day

I just got Punch-Out Wii a few minutes ago
. I haven't played it yet, but it should be pretty good when I play it tomorrow morning. Once I've beaten it I'll probably do a review of it as well. Bye, and have a nice night.- Posted Jun 3, 2009 6:50 pm PT

Well, tomorrow I believe I'm going to be at level... *dramatic music plays*... 20. Apparently this level is very hard to get through. Anyone want to explain to me exactly why that is? Do points just not update or something? Anyways after the last Live Show tomorrow I'm going to try to go through every bit of E3 content in an attempt to get the "E3 Monster" type of emblem. It may or may not even exist but I'm not going to take any chances.
Also I've been thinking about getting a new Wii game, so anyone have any recommendations? I've been thinking about Punch-Out Wii but I'm not sure. Majora's Mask on the Virtual Console is another thing I might get.
In other news, I submitted over 80 banners for the Gamespot Gamespace Banner Union Submission thread for games that don't have banners awhile back. I'm hoping when they are judged at least a few will be accepted. The union actually seems a little dead, but people do have lives outside of this sight so I understand. When it has a little activity though it seems like a homey place. A place where people know each other pretty well Internet-wise.
Also fastesttruck made the e3 Discussion Union, so I advise you all to check it out and join it if you want. It's a "Union for e3 Discussion and Telegrams about e3 Emblems / events."
Anyways, thanks for reading this and have a nice day.- Posted Jun 3, 2009 3:37 pm PT
