Seperating Single and Mulitplayer in games

I have been thinking about this for a while. Why not have them sold seperately when selling a game? What i mean by this is making a model where you sell only the multiplayer, a singleplayer and a complete package. That way you can spend the money more the way the customer wants. This way the devloper cam also show what has been worked on the most and makes it possible for consumers to have a choice when buying the game.

It would make games more accesible and not tack on either multiplayer or singleplayer when it isn't needed for the game at all. Game developers should focus on the core game and not add multiplayer or singleplayer to justify it being 60 dollars. Cut the cost of the game and do something you know you are good at.

Uncharted 3 is actually a good example of how it could be done. Making it possible to play the multiplayer for free and not forcing you to buy the game. If you want the singleplayer experience or the full experience of the game you can buy it. Here lies the potential for selling games to a wider crowd. Consumers will then not be forced to lay down full price on a game, but actually buy something cheaper for something they might enjoy more.

Call of Duty might be the best example. With three modes in Black Ops 2, it would be really easy to just split the game up and cheaper for those that don't want singleplayer or even the zombie mode. They just want the multiplayer part. Why not make this a business practice and actually set this in motion?

Now bigger companies might not even want to touch this or even want to try this out. But this could be a new way to approach the market. Companies might get more money from it. Many don't want to throw down full price on a game because something might feel tacked on or cheap. By doing this you might actually be more consumer friendly for those that can't buy full priced games all the time and get something they actually want for a cheaper coin.

    Microsoft Xbox One Impressions

They bombed it badly with this console in my opinion. They could have shown off that the console was not a constant online, used games hating, with no forced Kinect and core gamer embracing console. It failed in all of these aspects.

Now before i bash the console it has some upsides. It has 8 ram DDR 3. It also has a slick new controller.

The controller is something i was worried about, but it looks really slick and great.

The processor also has the ability to switch between games, movies, tv and music. This is something that is really good feature for those that want to use it.

Forza 5 was the real shining star of this show. With great graphics, It has really good lighting and just looks awesome. This will be a system seller. This is the only reason i am actually considering getting an Xbox One

Now to the really bad part. The used games fee is just flat out stupid and is an insult to gamers, it is actually worse than the Online Pass fee. Making everyone even force to be online to register the game is also as insulting to anyone. Requiring to be online at least once a day or to be online to register a new game. Also Kinect being forced to be used with the Xbox One and not even working without it is also flat out insulting.

The conference itself was sorely lacking in anything appealing for core gamers. Only appealing with movies, tv and music apps. There was nothing that really appealed to anyone that have been a part of the core crowd.

There is also no backward compablity despite the fact that the possibility is there for it. I get it with the Cell Processor and PS4. But why shouldn't it be possible to do it with Xbox One`?

I will not get this console, and i will go with Wii U and PS4
