So my birthday just passed, just turned the mighty 23 years old.
Since I'm usually at work ALL the time, it was a nice break to finally get out of the studio and take a few days off. And lo and behold, a favourite b-day gift from family members, as it always is, is affordable video games.
Enter Nintendo DS.
I've always loved my DS, I haven't had the time in the fall to play the titles I've wanted to. And so, I get Phantom Hourglass, and FFXII: Revanant Wings.
Great games, which I look forward to sinking my teeth into this holiday season.
I havea question though for would-be commenters...now that Mass Effect is done, and Halo 3 has worn off me essentially except for a few Multiplayer matches a week, I beat Super Mario Galaxy 2 weeks ago...what's new coming out?
That was my list, essentially all beaten before x-mas.
Any suggestions? I'll need something to do the few days before x-mas.
Peace out.
Hey everybody.
I've been insane with work over the past 2 months...but I finally found somewhere where I can blog and review in peace.
AT work...that's right, I never thought of it either, but I have time, and access to a computer at my job.
So here I am! Ready to write and review and post to my hearts content.
Gaming life in the past little bit. Got 1/2 through Galaxy, then Mass Effect game, just finished Mass Effect this afternoon after blowing through the main quest in 18 hours. I'm going to go back and start again getting all the sidequests, and finish Mario.
Also, I'm going to update a lot of my reviews, write some good and bad ones hopefully over the next few days.
Stay tuned.
By the way, go get Mass Effect if you have a 360.
Now.
Heavenly Sword gets an 8.0?
The game was beaten at my friends house while I watched for 5 hours.
5....hours.
8.0
5 hours.
8.
I don't care how good the production values are, but I would NOT buy that game...it may be a good rental, but shrug. Nevertheless, the 6-axis controls were "implemented"...does that make them good? No.
They didn't mess the whole damned thing up they mean...that's what qualifies "good 6 axis controls."
NOT worth the money to buy Heavenly Sword everyone...but how Metroid Prime 3got an 8.5 for over 40 hours of amazing gameplay, and Heavenly Sword got an 8 for about 5 hours of wicked production value...I just don't get it.
It's a 7.0 max.
I'll probably upset some fanboys with this one, but I strongly disagree with that rating.
I've been playing my 360 nearly all the time lately, and the Wii's been getting a Wii Sports workout now and then, but not nearly enough to compete with my Microsoft bohemoth.
HOWEVER.
Prime 3 just came out, and rave reviews from everywhere EXCEPT Gamespot (whata surprise...not Nintendo fans.), has prompted to BADLY want to buy it. But the question is, do I have time to complete it before the Halo 3 launch date? I say yes. My Budget says no. After seeing the game running at a friends house, I think I'm going to go get it.
Right now in fact.
Seriously. Walking out the door.
But how's THIS for some food for thought. A good friend of mine rented Lair for his PS3, and claimed to me that he almost vomitted in the fact that he got a PS3...I said at least Heavenly Sword will rock, (but it's only SEVEN HOURS LONG.), but he's frustrated.
To think what Nintendo did with Prime 3, and what Lair was with SO MUCH more power...unbelieveable. Rock On Nintendo. Time to pick up Prime 3.
INEXCUSEABLE, Sony.
Evidently it's been a few months folks. Since school ended, in fact.
Let me catch you up: I had 6 freelance jobs this summer, trying to pay for school, and unfortuneately my blog took 2nd fiddle. But now, hopefully we're going to have a fiddling solo, a CONVENTION even, for the following year
.
Anyways, Xbox360 was purchased in May. It's the system to end all systems right now, in my opinion. Beat Bioshock last week, went through Gears, can't wait for Halo. It's going to be a glorious fall.
I'll update my games list and whatnot, and I'm going to revamp my avatar and the whole deal to get me back into this thing full swing.
Happy Gaming
,
Ach! Slight delay on getting my 360, due to unforseen job aquirement problems...figure I should probably get a job before I spend all that money on a 360.
BUT, there is no doubt that I'm going to get one now, so I can have fun with 'er over the summer.
Call me crazy, but I'm just as excited for Bioware's new game Mass Effect, as I am Halo 3. I love story-driven games, and essentially everything that Bioware has made over the last decade. Bad news? Mass Effect was delayed until September, but I for one, take that as GOOD news.
I cannot STAND playing games that have rushed endings tacked on, and simply lack polish. Mass Effect being delayed until September simply means that the game ISN'T FINISHED, so quitcher bellyachin' everyone! I'd rather play a great game later, than a dissapointing one sooner.
In any case, I'm going to post my gamertag so you guys can challenge me to games that I aquire for the 360. It'll be a grand time, I'm going bananas over here just looking at all the stuff that I'm going to get.
The summer might be a slow month for new games coming out, but we'll all persevere I'm sure. Take care, Gamespotters.
