  Just a list that i'm going to update with games i've played through and beat this year. New or Old

  4. GTA IV: The Lost and the Damned - 9/10
  5. Civilization Revolution - 8.5/10

  The Trend (Top Games of 08)

  First and foremost, I found the year to be a bit disappointing in most categories. Not that it didn't produce a lot of quality games, but many games fell short of what was dreamed. I only got around to playing 9 of them, so forgive me. #5 - Burnout Paradise
  
  This game steps above and beyond what it did in previous games, and made it more explosive and exciting than ever.
  
  #4 - Super Smash Bros. Brawl
  
  SSBB was only limited by if you had friends to play with. With them it soars, without it drowns. But when it soars it does just that.
  
  #3 - Fable II
  
  The game that almost did everything it set out to. It's minor flaws hold this back from being outstanding.
  
  #2 - Fallout 3
  
  So much to do. With this though it gets a bit repetitive. One of only 2 great games I played this year.
  
  #1 - GTA IV
  
  A mafioso masterpiece. Simply outstanding from top to bottom, the only flaw was why no planes and parachutes?
  
  As many of you may know, I left out 4 games that should at least be mentioned.
  
  Gears of War 2
  
  This game could have easily elevated it's way onto the list, but a buggy multiplayer and absolutely disgusting ending make this game crash and burn for me.
  
  The next three I plan to play, but a lack of funding is holding me back on these games
  
  MGS4
  
  I love the series, but I can't justify buying a PS3 at this time for just one game.
  
  Left 4 Dead
  
  I loved the demo, and if that translated well enough into the game, it would be a no-brainer for top 5.
  
  Dead Space
  
  This game isn't my kind of game, simply because it seemed like a slow paced RE4 in space. I had the opportunity to buy this, but I passed on it. All of the great things I heard can't be ignored for too long though.
  
  PS. Treyarch, just quit.
