Hi-ho everyone!! I know what you're going to say. Where have you been, Aussie Club? Well the club's been busy preparing a POLL!!! Woo-hoo! Click and go to vote on your favourites for 2006.
And to make up for the long absence, next week we'll have another quiz for you. And don't worry - there'll be another shiny suprise!!
Nicholas Boot, a reporter from Today Tonight and his crew are in hot water after they supplied the chains a 84 year old grandmother to make it appear she had gone to desperate measure to stay in her nursing home. Apparently, the authorities arrived to investigate if the woman's rights had been violated, only to find the whole thing was a stunt.
Love my way returns this week on Showtime. The series is still going strong as it heads into it's third season. Justine Clarke (The Surgeon) will soon be joining the cast.
The AFL broadcast is back on Seven with the start of the NAB Cup Pre Season Cup. Seven is starting off the year with nearly all the shows worth watching this year, such as Heroes, Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy.
That Ad with the kid in nappies crawling out of the crib to steal Mum and Dad's car and take it to the beach has been banned in Australia in the fear that it will encourage toddlers to do the same. Curiously, it's New Zealand's most popular advertisement.
Bridie Carter of McCloud's Daughters has landed a role as host of National Geographic.
John Waters returns to All Saints this week(27/2/2007)
The New Series Sea Patrol has finally dragged Lisa McCune away from the reality / documentary series drudgeons.
The US network NBC has started work on tv Australian rip-off series. Thank God You're Here and Kath and Kim are to be remade for American audiences. If the shows are so good to being with, why change them?

I don't watch it on TV, I'd prefer to see it live. There also seems to be a worrying amount of news, game shows and reality on the list. And why is it that the news is the No. 1 rated show - did something big happen last week?

Hi-ho everyone!! This week we have put a tricky little quiz togethe to test your knowledge of Aussie TV. All scores are kept track of and the winner (make sure when you register you use the same username as Tv.com so we can track you down) will receive a special shiny suprise to put on your blog or signature or wherever!! So come one and all try out the quiz and battle wits with other club members!! Good luck!
Quiz Name that Show, No. 1 - Click here to do the quiz
P.S. The Shiny Suprise will be presented to the clever winner on Monday the 18th - one week from today's post!!

THE pilot of Southern Star drama Secretary which was snubbed by the Ten network earlier this year has been illegally uploaded onto a US website - dailymotion.com atleast until it was removed by Ten shortly after it was discovered. The series, starring Pia Miranda, Vince Colosimo, Kimberley Davies, Peter O'Brien and Susie Porter - was supposedly uloaded by a cast member annoyed at Ten's decision.
However, there's a big year ahead for Ten. The network has invested in a number of new programmes recently including Jamie's Kitchen Australia and Tripping Over. New programmes for 2007 include The Con.Test and Celebrity Dog School. Ten will also kick off the strategy by relaunching its main website, www.ten.com.au, with a focus on video streaming, downloads and communities. The site will be supported by more than 50 programme sites and relevant online communities with appropriate versions and extensions of programmes for portable and mobile devices, as well as for broadband users.

Yay, another week has gone by and we're another week closer to Christmas!!
I don't know about you guys, but this year has been too long!!To join the Aussie Club, just send in us a PM. It's really easy. Don't forget to let us know when it's you're birthday so we can all celebrate. Also if you have any trivia, news or other noteworthy stuff send it all in via PM. We just love stuff

Jamie Durie, previously of Manpower and Backyard Blitz, has left for New York to take on the American Audience. The Aussie hunk will move to New York after Christmas to start filming his own gardening show for the PBS network. Durie was an instant hit on Oprah last week, with the first lady of US television saying he had sent the show's "cute factor" soaring. He is about to start a new Gardening Show on PBS in the US. He has promised that the move is not permanent.
Great Outdoors presenter Laura Csortan has lashed out at the recent sackings of women over 40 in Autsralian Television. Di Smith (Great Outdoors), Naomi Robson (Today Tonight) and Tracey Spicer (CH. 10 News) have all recently got the boot, Spicer getting the sack a week after returning from Maternity Leave.
It's Official, Channel Nine has won the year's ratings, by a whisker! Although Nine thrashed Seven in Melbourne.
If you have any news you think should be posted here, send it in via PM.

Hello everyone, squishyhippo here. I am sorry to say that alexlips has decided to retire from tv.com, I know we will all miss him. But I think it's a good idea to keep this club open since he put so much work into setting it up!! And while aplourey is also taking a short break (hopefully he'll be back!) I will be updating this blog weekly.

Kath and Kim (Jane Turner and Gina Riley) are no longer contracted to the ABC. As their fourth season approaches, with Guest Stars such as Mark Walliams and Matt Lucas from Little Britain, they may still jump to a Commercial Network if a suitable offer is made.
Channel 9 has lost it's deal with CBS America, losing the rights to shows such as The Late Show David Letterman and Dr Phil (not a great selection anyway). In addition, they have lost the right to air stories from 60 Minutes America, but 60 minutes will remain unchanged. Ironic.
Tripping Over has been approved for a Second Season. This is yet to go into production.
Channel 10 will air the much anticipated Joanna Lees Story in 2007.
Production has just begun in Melbourne on Chris Lilley's new comdey series, Summer Heights High starring Mr. G, the high school drama teacher. It is expected that Chris will be portraying several characters as he did in We Can Be Heroes (Australian of the Year)
The Force (7) has recently been sold to Dutch Network SBS Netherlands. This series pulled in some of the year's highest ratings when it aired in Australia and the Dutch Station are looking forward to the show fitting into thei nightly schedule. The Network also chose to purchase another season of McLeod's Daughters which has been rating well on the Network.
Also there is quite an amusing article about the year of ratings here: Seven Snatches Defeat - Article on Tv(AUS) in 2006 - the year of crap.
If you have any news you think should be posted here, send it in via PM.

As I don't have any Birthdays or other annoucements to post currently, I have looked up a few celeb Birthdays to keep us entertained.
Birthdays
24/11 - Shane Bourne turns 49 (Thank God You're Here)

Squishyhippo made an Aussie Club user-bar which we both have in our signatures and if you want it, go to the website, here, scroll to the bottom of the page and copy that code into your sig.

We have a winner! The fabulous banner 1 wins which was made by Squishyhippo! Congrats! Thanks to everyone who made one, they were all great but there had to be a winner. Thanks to everyone who voted to. There will be similar competitions in the near future so get ready!

1) Grey's Anatomy (7) - 1.85m
2) Thank God You're Here (10) - 1.81m
3) Australian Idol Sunday (10) - 1.78m
4) Dancing With The Stars (7) - 1.68m
5) 60 Minutes (9) - 1.67m
6) CSI (9) - 1.57m
7) Movie - The Bourne Supremacy (10) - 1.47m
8 ) Australian Idol Monday (10) - 1.45m
9) Midsomer Murders (ABC) - 1.43m
10) 20 to 1 (9) - 1.41m
Channel Ten's hot new drama Tripping Over, which premiered at 8.30pm last Wednesday, scored an average 1.29m viewers Australia wide. Considering how heavily advertised it was and all the rage about it, this was under the expectations of the network. As quoted by the Sydney Morning Herald, "Tripping Over is between the hit and the flop." If Tripping over gradually loses viewers, all is to blame for the English co-producers who, "failed to understand Australian tastes." If it continues this way, it could join The Alice, Headland and Last Man Standing, some of Australia's 'could have beens.' (alexlips)
Seven has earned the rights to hit American shows Ugly Betty, Heroes (Tv.com's #1 show) and Brothers and Sisters. These will join there long list of hit shows like Lost, Prison Break, 24 and Desperate Housewives. (aplourey)
People excited about the Sci-Fi I mentioned in the comments of the last blog, you'll be happy to know that you can get a sneak peak. If you have Foxtel that is! (aplourey)
The launch of The OC is definetely November 7th at 8:30pm. The first episode is called The Avengers. I'v seen half of it (it got leaked briefly), and it is brilliant. Season 1 quality. (aplourey)

I have been posted 5 great banners and now it is up to you to chose which one deserves to take the lead as the official Aussie Club banner! I have uploaded them to a website because they couldn't fit here and to make this fair, no one will know who's banner is which. Simply check them out, send me a PM telling me which number banner you vote for and I will tell you the winner shortly! Here is the website!

Kindly enough, our fellow member aplourey has agreed to write up some of the latest Aussie TV news and here are some of the latest pieces of TV news:
Grey's Anatomy is coming to a close on 30th October. Seeing as though I've seen the season finale I can tell you it will be breathtakingly heartbreaking.
NCIS's finale is set to air tonight (October 25th). It is called Hiatus Pt 2. It is supposedly great. But don't worry NCIS fans, re-runs start next week.
The ARIA Awards are on October 29th. On Channel Ten as usual. If, like me, you are a muso then check this out.
The OC is set to premiere on Tuesday 7th November. I'll keep you updated next article.
Kath and Kim are set to return next year with the Little Britain cast as a one off.

Coming soon to the Aussie Club is the "Community Shout." All you have to do is PM me a sentence or whatever about special events like your birthday, a holiday, getting braces on/off, broken a bone, going to hospital and things like that. It should be up and running soon!

For the last few blogs I have said that the banners will be posted in the next blog and I am sorry to delay you once more it's just that I am still waiting for a banner which hasn't been sent to me yet due to "technical difficulties." I will post them next blog, it's a promise.

The results are in from last weeks TV and it looks like Channel Ten is the clear winner again with there season 2 finale of House!
1) House (10) - 2.13m
2) Australian Idol Sunday (10) - 1.92m
3) Grey's Anatomy (7) - 1.87m
4) Thank God You're Here (10) - 1.83m
5) Australian Idol Monday (10) - 1.54m
6) Dancing With The Stars (7) - 1.53m
7) NCIS Repeat (10) - 1.45m
8 ) 60 Minutes (9) - 1.45m
9) Seven News Sunday (7) - 1.43m
10) Midomer Murders (ABC) - 1.42m
Channel Ten does it again! First with Jericho which was seen in Australian hours after the US and now The OC is coming back with it's 4th season which will be seen in Australia right after as well!

The main purpose of this club is for Australian members at Tv.com to find new Aussie friends along with many more cool things in the blogs. It's interesting to know if anyone has made friends with anyone due to this club? If anyone has an idea to help this matter could you please talk about it.

So everyone knows about the new drama show premiering on Channel Ten this Wednesday at 8.30pm. It is great that a highly rated Aussie show is out because there haven't been many Australian dramas on TV in the last 10 years. I can only name 3; Blue Heelers, All Saints and McLeod's Daughters.
Tripping Over, starring Daniel McPherson, Brooke Satchwell, Rebecca Gibney and Lisa McCune is about 5 young people converge for a one night stop-over in Bangkok and after than night, those 5 people will be bounded together in new lives which will send there lives in different directions.
I think it will be great. Who else is going to watch it?

I will post the final banners tomorrow with anonymous creators for fare voting. If anyone still wants to make one, there is still time!

Hey Aussie's, how great is this! Before I give you some details, there are some tech. errors and it is not possible to change to size of any of this...

Competition:
We need a banner for this profile so who ever makes the best banner will be (publicly) judged and will be used! The banner should say "The Aussie Club" and be Australian themed. The rest is up to your imagination! Good luck!

Also if anyone finds or makes a good "about me" picture...

Current Aussie Shows:
The latest feature to the club is that all currently airing Australian shows listed at Tv.com will be tracked by this profile in the "Favourites" section! If there are any which should or shouldn't be listed , please PM me.
