    Determination is Key

I thought I would make one last post before the year ends. Also to give good friends of mine an update on were I'm am in my life and where's it headed.

I don't know if most of ya'll do this or not but every year I do a New Year Resolution. Every year I fail at it also. My 2007 resolution was to be in school by the end of this year; as you can see that didn't happen. Failure mounted with more failure has brought a light at the end of the tunnel. So even though I didn't get in school this year I have set myself up to attend hopefully early next year. I will be visiting the school in Jan. So when I return expect an update on the situation.

I been trying so hard to get back into art but finding it difficult. I just don't have the room I used to. Well back then I did most of my drawing in school anyway. I had a whole desk to myself back then so it was alot easier. If I do attend Full Sail expect to see some drawing posted up here. I will make sure to dedicated a small section of my room just for drawing.

The gaming front is going strong. Been playing Mass Effect alot lately. Actually went through and beat itfor the second time. Going through it again just to get the achievements now. CoD 4 was great, can't wait to try it out online in the future. I need to go back and play BioShock since I haven't finished it yet. I also just got Ace Combat 6 with the flight stick! That's right, the flight stick was well worth the extra doe. I really brought that game for online so people better still be playing when I get the chance to hope on. Looking forward to Frontlines, just might be the first game I buy next year. 32 player max online sounds nice and the demo was fun. They still have some things to work out but the drones adds new gameplay element to the online play so things might get interesting if they can pull it off. Dark Sector also looks to be one of the great games of next year. Battlefield: Bad Company buying for the online play so it better be worth it. Spore, I'm drooling for Spore folks. I can't wait to get my hands on Unreal Tourny 3 for the XB360. I really need to get a PS3 next year. Maybe that will be part of my New Year's Resolution! HA!

Being this close to a dream that you have been thinking about for years. I remember back in Middle School, the school did one of those career day things were you go to a room and someone in that field talks to you about it. I think that what career day is, anyway I put down Video Game Programmer (not going into that field) and theroom they put me in had nothing to do with Video Games, LOL! The first time I got the thought to make games was when I read this article in a video game mag. when I was younger. Can't remember the name of the mag or theschool but it sparked something that stayed with me for years. You know as I think back on my childhood, I can't remember a time when there wasn't a video games. So everyone wish Nemesis luck as he continues his journey to become a king. Not a king, nah I don't want to be a king anymore. I want something much more...

    Sun Peeping Through The Clouds

Well guys I thought I would drop a line to let everyone know that Nemesis still breaths. Just basically been working my tail off at GameStop. We got something going on with this Game Day Sale and plus we are again short staffed. Just today we got a new third key so my last open to close day will be on Wednesday. We have a GA in mind so hopefully this problem will get resolved before it becomes a problem.

Bout to start getting back into my last art of drawing. So I plan on going out with my next paycheck to get a couple of art supplies and some drawing books to see how I progess through my stages of trying to get back and go beyond where I left off at. Doing this will also prepare me for my Computer Animation degree.

Of Course I'm also ALWAYS thinking of new games. But something my boss told me that is really changing the way I approach a new idea for a game. As we gamers should know all ideas are not good ideas for games. So when he said this is really stuck in my head. "We are in the day and age of gaming that we should be trying to re-invent genres."- SM of GameStop Store #3173. Themain genre we spoke on was the fighting games genre. Back in the late 80's and early 90's fighting games RULED. But lately there haven't been that many and most of them ain't that good just ok. Tekken 5 was the best one I PLAYED in awhile.

Also alot of thoughts have been going through my mind. This is cause of a band I'm just REALLY got into and I do believe I came into a BIG fan. This band would be Tool and after listenind and buying ALL their albums expect for one, 10,000 Days, I came to the realization that Tool is more than a band that plays music.

    Partly Cloudly Skies

Its been a long time since the last blog post. Well to inform everyone I got promoted again at GameStop to ASM. That came with another nice little raise. I'm now a proud owner of a Xbox 360 Now only if I can get boardband so I can use Xbox Live at home. I will get my PS3 next and then the Wii. It's been a long time since I drew anything so I'm starting to get back into drawing. I'm scared to see the first thing I'm going to draw. Haven't been playing ALOT of games but picking up a controller now and again. Getting ideas for some of future IPs. I'm going to try and the key word is try to keep up with my weekly blog posts. Hopefully this will get me back in touch with all my fellow gamespot members.

"Almost, but not quite" AoE III will be loved by its fans but new players will find a better game in the genre. Best RTS to date? You tell me. Continue »
