PS3 is back!
I am happy to state that my baby is back in action and it took less that 2 weeks to come in: my PS3 is finally home! While I was on break I picked up Mirror's Edge, Little Big Planet and Resistance 2. I have to say these are all great games to put back into a great system. Things are back to normal now.
The funny thing is, I was all upset that I wouldn't be able to play; meanwhile, I signed up for the ARMY so soon I won't be playing for about 6 months. I will get in whatever time I can now with friends and family (PS3 included) before I go.
Hope all is well with everyone, wish me luck...

PS3 Broken...
For the last couple of years I have heard many of my friends that own the XBOX 360 eventually fall to the likes of the "RED RING OF DEATH." I myself went through the same issues when I owned my own 360 and traded the system in. I got myself a PS3 and have been really happy with the system thus far. However, this past weekend as I was playing Fallout 3 my PS3 crashed.
While I was in the middle of a mission the system turned off on me. I was a bit confused when it happened. I remember thinking to myself: "maybe it reset for some strange reason." I went to turn it back on and that's when the horror began...
My PS3 kept making that crazy beeping sound and the red light just kept flashing over an over again. It wouldn't turn back on. I immediately pulled out the support manual to see if this was normal for the system to do. It says in the manual that when the PS3 does this it is in a sort of "overheating" mode and would be on standby till the system cooled off. I felt a sense of relief at this point and went out to the movies with my friends as I had planned earlier in the day. Between the travel time and the movie this would give my PS3 enough time to cool down. I was wrong to think such a thing...
When I got back and tried to continue where I left off in the AWESOME Fallout 3, it did the same exact thing... BEEP, BEEP, BEEP... Flashing light...
I logged on to my Laptop to see if there were any videos on YouTube about this kind of thing with the PS3. Low and behold, there was a bunch of them posted up. All of the people I saw who put up videos had the same issue and had to send in their systems to SONY to have it repaired. I hung my head in shame... Being a big gamer this was a blow to the mid section.
The fallowing morning I called SONY and explained to them what had happened. Sure enough they asked me for my info so they could send me a specialized box to place my PS3 in. It will cost me 150$ because my warranty is expired. Everything that was on my hard drive will be lost. That's 2 years of destruction I have put in work all down the drain. Games like: OBLIVION, ASSASSINS CREED, METAL GEAR SOLID 4, FALLOUT 3, SOULCALIBUR IV, etc... All the movies, music, TV shows, and pics gone. I am going to have to download all of it again.
Basically, something overheated in my system and fried something vital inside. I am going to be out of commission for a month. This gives all of the goons I have been abusing on BATTLEFIELD: BAD COMPANY and SOCOM a chance to practice while I am waiting to return. This gave me a chance to do some research on all of the next gen systems. They have all suffered from some heating issues or hard dive failure problems...Hopefully the models being put out now will be able to keep up with us hardcore gamer types.
In light of this tragedy, it has given me the opportunity to pull out the good old N64 and SNES. I will be on ZELDA for this month. Not too bad at all. Lets hope I don't burn this thing out for the second time...

All Gold COD4.
Well its official, I now have all of the gold weapons in COD4. They don't do much more than look nice and stick out like a sore thumb when you try to hide by lying down; even so, to know that I completed all of the challenges for every weapon is a medal of its own. I don't use stopping power either just good old skill with the aim. It took a little less than 3 weeks to earn all gold, which I think is pretty awesome so I had to implement the bragging rights
. Ahhh... Time to pick up a new game today, what shall it be???- Posted May 16, 2008 8:56 am PT
