Just wanted to welcome back a dear friend of mine " borikuarocks
I have decided to make this blog in your honor! Since the last 2 yrs or 3, I really can't remember, but the Smallville forum has not been the same. I can remember the first time we had it out on the boards and how it all went down. After that, we got to exchange really good info on comics, Superman and Smallville and all the good stuff that comes with comic book reader. So I'm just blogging to say "Welcome Back borikuarocks "

22Sep 08Anyone know just why they cancelled The Batman? I was looking for the season premiere and just to find out that they ended this animated series. Whats going on here. DCAU has not one show on TV right now. They even stop showing Superman:The Animated Series, Batman:The Animated Series, and i really don't know if they stopped showing Justice league Unlimited on Boom. The thing is, since I can remember, they have always had some kind of DCAU on TV and now I don't see any. Even Marvel got "The spatacular Spiderman" on the CW. So anyone know just what happen? I mean they cancelled it right when the JLA was being introduced in different episodes. What happen???

Something I had blogged about in my last Blog, Micheal Phelps acting! Yes people I was right. I just found out that Micheal will be doing some acting after all. He will be doing Saturday Night Live on the 13th of September. We all know that its no second take when you do this show. Now we can see just what this young guy is made of. I see more acting jobs ahead. What are your thoughts people?
Something I just found:
August 27, 2008 Michael Phelps to host Saturday Night LiveMichael Phelps' victory lap on NBC continues, with the swimmer booked to make his acting debut on the 34th season premiere of "Saturday Night Live."
Phelps will host the sketch comedy series when it premieres Sept. 13, along with musical guest Lil Wayne (Phelps listened to the New Orleans rapper's "I'm Me" on his iPod to get amped for races, you'll recall).
Though it might seem like an awkward pairing, several professional athletes have hosted the show in years past (Wayne Gretzky, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning...).
NBC is banking on viewer interest in Phelps continuing even though his Olympics quest to win eight gold medals has finished. Phelps is a guest on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Sept. 8 and the network picked up the broadcast rights to the 2009 World Swimming Championship from Rome and USA Swimming National Championships.

16Aug 08Since he was 15 he started winning in the Olympics, and then came 19 four years ago! Now at 23, about 6'4" tall, I would love to see this guy take on the role as AC (Aquaman) in a motion movie, not just TV! He's gotten too big for TV now! I think he could make a good Aquaman. man can this guy swim. Yes he may need some acting lessons, but that shouldn't take much time. So what do you people think??

Bryan Singer Confirms Superman: Man of Steel Sequel to Superman Returns
Some major developments for the sequel to Superman Returns, tentatively titled Superman: The Man of Steel, hit the web today in quick succession. First, IESB reports that they've received "100%" confirmation that Bryan Singer will return to direct the flick and they've also heard that writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman (Transformers, J.J. Abrams's Star Trek) are in major talks to replace Returns scribes Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris.
And then, later today Empire actually chatted with Singer, who not only confirmed his "intent" to direct, but once again defended Returns' poor critical, fanboy and box office reception, while playing up action in the sequel…
"That movie made $400 million!" Singer says to Empire. "I don't know what constitutes under-performing these days…Look, I can understand, I suppose, what some people mean. Perhaps some people went in with the expectation of it being like an X-Men film, and Superman is a tougher character than that. Especially bringing him back. It really goes back to the fact that you can only please some of the people some of the time. But, yes, I'm just getting back with writers after the strike. We're just in the development phase. I'm starting to develop a sequel…with the intention of directing it."
He goes on to jokingly jab at female fans who went ga-ga over Superman Returns, while mentioning the sequel's upped stakes…
"The first one was a romantic film and a nostalgic film," he says. "I'll be the first person to own up to that without making any apologies for it. I knew it was going to be that from the outset. And now that the characters are established, there's really an opportunity to up the threat levels…Clearly there'll be a body count [laughs]. From frame one, it will be unrelenting terror! All those teenage girls who found the movie and mooned over James Marsden or Brandon? Well, I'm going to wake them up!"
I'm moderately surprised that Warner Bros. is going ahead with a sequel rather than scrapping it and revamping the character once again a la The Incredible Hulk or Punisher: War Zone. Not to sound like a smirk jerk, but the first film, which cost $200 million (I'll still add an ! to that), totally blew it in my opinion and was basically one of the largest pet-projects ever. A Superman movie should reign supreme over all comic book films in terms of epic-ness, scope, special effects and box office, but even if Man of Steel boasts more action, it'll still be difficult to get stoked after the first faux-weepy, overly nostalgic bummer.
Just some things for everyone to read to keep us up to date on this next film.

For the people who haven't heard this yet, The Dark Knight (New Batman movie in case some of you who don't know) is setting records all over the world!! Just in its openning day it set records alone (pulled in a whooping 18.5 million for opening day so far) I knew this movie was going to be hot.
Batman's joust with the Joker has set another box office record. Stoked by fan fever over the manic performance of the late Heath Ledger as the Joker, "The Dark Knight" set a one-day box office record with $66.4 million on opening day, Warner Bros. head of distribution Dan Fellman said Saturday.
The movie's Friday haul surpassed the previous record of $59.8 million set last year by "Spider-Man 3." "The Dark Knight" might break the opening-weekend record of $151.1 million, also held by "Spider-Man 3."
"I think they're in jeopardy," Fellman said of the "Spider-Man 3" records.
"The Dark Knight" began with a record $18.5 million from midnight screenings, topping the previous high of $16.9 million for "Star Wars: Episode III — The Revenge of the Sith."
The opening day grosses for "The Dark Knight" far exceeded the full weekend haul of its predecessor, "Batman Begins," which took in $48.7 million in its first three days in 2005.
Reviews were excellent for director Christopher Nolan's "Batman Begins," but they were stellar for his "Dark Knight."
"We've really never seen anything like this," said Paul Dergarabedian, president of box-office tracker Media By Numbers. "The death of a fine actor taken in his prime, a legendary performance, and a movie that lives up to all the hype. That all combined to create these record-breaking numbers."
Buzz had been high for the Batman sequel well before Ledger died of an accidental prescription-drug overdose in January. Trailers last fall revealing Ledger's demented Joker, with crooked clown makeup, turned up the heat even more. The critical acclaim over his performance that built from advance screenings left fans in a frenzy.
"It's a combination of things. Certainly, that's a great part of it, but I think this movie's gross was partly because of the reviews it received and the incredible buzz and word of mouth that preceded it with our early screenings," Fellman said. "And the success and quality of the last one, `Batman Begins,' delivered by Chris Nolan just set the tone for the opening of this movie."
"The Dark Knight" reunites Christian Bale as Batman, the vigilante crime-fighter tormented by personal tragedy, and co-stars Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Gary Oldman. Maggie Gyllenhaal also stars.
The film spins an epic crime duel as Ledger's Joker orchestrates a reign of terror on the city of Gotham aimed to spread chaos and break down the restraint that keeps Batman on the right side of the law.
While critics are taking the film seriously enough to suggest Ledger could be in line for an Academy Award nomination, the action-packed movie also delivers as pure summer movie escapism.
"If you're worried about mortgage payments and gas prices, when you're sitting in `The Dark Knight' for two and a half hours, you're not thinking about any of that stuff," Dergarabedian said.

I see that we are coming up on yet another Father's day, So I wanted to wish all the father's out there a happy one.
Father's Day Vs. Mother's Day Question.
I was sitting here thinking about how it is when Mother's day come around and how it is with the hype they give it over father's day. On the real people, how many times do we see how they go all out for the mothers, and yet when our day comes around, it don't be as hyped up as theres. Now I must say that we do have plenty of women out in the world thats taking on both parts as Mother and fathers. Sometimes you would here the women saying to the other women when its Father's day "Happy Father's day girl" LOL! Anyway we can't forget all about the good men of the world who has been there for there children. Me being a proud father, I can only speak for myself
Anyway, your thoughts on this people? - Posted Jun 5, 2008 7:32 pm PT
