" Based on a recent study, Dr. Chou Yuan-hua claims that playing videogames (specifically violent ones) slows blood flow to the brain, and that prolonged exposure can lead to brain damage.
The doctor, who is employed by the Department of Psychiatry of the Taipei Veterans General Hospital, conducted a test on 30 people -- each 25 years old -- whose various blood pressure and physical blood distributiown levels were measured before and after playing video games for 30 minutes.
Based on the results, Chou concluded that "the act of playing video games obviously causes a decreased blood flow in the brain."
Chou's greatest concern seems to be for children, whom he says "spend far more time [than the 30 minutes of the study] on vide games each day, unaware that doing so on a long term basis could damage the frontal lobe of the brain."It's not surprising that lowered blood pressure would result from a relaxing, sedentary activity like gaming, and Chou never explains why gaming in particular -- and not, for example, reading the newspaper or sleeping -- causes these sorts of dangerous blood flow drops.
The article ends with a statement from the doctor regarding the physical characteristics of schizophrenia, which happen to be rather similar to those found by his study. While his statement isn't wrong, the placement of his words regarding the condition is, at best, confusing to readers, and at worst, is designed to cause readers of the article to infer certain relationships between schizophrenia and gaming."
Today we got our school report, with the results of the exams.
For science I got 80/100, and the remark was: God. He probably ment 'good', but it's still funny xD
I just deleveled 4 levels... I used to be level 10 with 25% and now I'm 6 and 0% O_o
Anyone know what is going on?
