Over the weekend I went on a party bus for a friend's birthday. It was crazy/awesome! For those that don't know what a party bus is (no worries, I didn't know either before last year!) : it's pretty much a huge, fancy bus, with seats on the side and space in the middle for dancing. Oh, and a pole
Kinda like a nightclub on wheels! I'll have to post pictures here later! No, that doesn't mean I bought a new camera, I just brought the huge Canon one. Needless to say, random people were taking it from me to use, lol.
Speaking of photos, let me show y'all something:
(foot's on desk b/c webcam cable is too short) See that gigantic bump on my little toe? That's the blister from last blog. I don't know if this picture can give you a sense of just how thick that sucker was! At least the picture quality came out nice this time
Also, there were these 3 solid white chunks floating around in it. Honest, they were *floating*, like a miniature snowglobe! Eww.Okay, really gross, I know. Sorry! And I hope no one here has a foot-with-blister fetish...

Since so many people have made blogs saying they're resigning from the site, I'd like to know who's planning on staying active. Tell mee!
There's this huge blister on my smallest toe, seriously it covers almost the entire toe! I got it from walking from downtown to my house, not the worlds shortest walk but not the longest either, however: I was wearing ballet flats! Those shoes are always killer. Too bad they're the only kind I have, lol.
COLLEGE!! ljkesafn.Seems like most people here are either A) Already in college B)High school juniors or C) 14 years old. But for me, I'll be submitting college applications this year so uhh....better start on that! I won't tell you where I'm applying because well, it's the internet (but some of y'all already know where). I am going to say that I'm applying to mostly art colleges.
I'm so worried I'm not good enough! I mean, my portfolio (so far) is "meh"- mostly composition practices in charcoal. My top school is insanely competitive, especially for my major. Most people don't get in the first time they apply, the average age of an incoming freshman there is like, 24. But I'm going to try anyway- woo naive optimisim!

holaa.
Mmm went to Little Italy today to buy some *oil pastels* at the art store. I haven't worked with them since the 3rd grade, and then, imagine how a 3rd grader would use an oil pastel. Crayon-style, yo. So I'm excited to re-learn them

My afternoons feel so long now! I took a period off for my senior year, plus I haven't really been going to my last class lately, so it feels like I have all the time in the world. It's been great, except for missing class, I don't know what I'm going to do about it. I mean, what can you say to that, "I've had the flu...but only for 5th period".
I waste too much time. Everytime I pass by the computer I'm all, let's take a 5 min. break to check for updates! Of course, 5 min = 2 hours. The whole time I'm sitting there thinking how I should just leave NOW. And I don't.
Um, how bout a confession. I watched the Backyardigans today, for the sole reason of hearing Aang's voice! Ahh I'm such an Avatard, I should start cutting myself off now, lol. But yeah, just closed my eyes and pretended it was Aang saying "Hi, I'm Pablo!"
Tell me I'm not the only one who's done this D:

Avatar. I just finished watching The Southern Air Temple, and I got really nostalgic. Watching book 1 always makes me feel that way, remembering how I was back when I saw it for the first time...good times. I miss not having a new episode to look forward to.
I want to show y'all my art! It's nothing incredible, okay? But I'm going to start posting them up on deviantart, and I'm hoping to get better with every new piece. My username there is 'lokkita', check me out.
K, so I was looking up different emotions on Wikipedia (great use of my time, I know) and for 'Loneliness' it said one of the earliest recordings of the word 'lonely' was in Shakespear's Coriolanus! No way, it *only* just came up during Shakespeares time?! You'd think it'd be much earlier...
If your lower arm (forearm to elbow) tingles, does that mean you have carpal tunnel?
Quick Edit: Just saw the trailer for Ponyo on a Cliff on youtube! Don't know if any of you like Miyazaki movies, but I know I nearly died at the cuteness!

Aw, that song is good times.
I'm back in the States! And not liking it much... I got really close to my relatives there. Especially Isa and Santi, I feel so lonely with out them! There's no cute baby-face sharing my room anymore, and no one to take walks through the busy streets in the rain!
Everything looks uglier here. And I'm tired of the people I know I'll see. Wow, I sound like a sour old miser. I just have to get adjusted again, this happens everytime time I come home from Colombia.
You know Nick Latino plays Avatar re-runs daily? And in order? I wish our Nick would do that!
Just quick and fun:
What is your ringtone? It's like, beep beep beep
Are you taller than your mom? No. Ha, I'm forever stuck as a shortie.
Do you enjoy writing in colored pens? Pencils are better.
Does anything hurt on your body right now? No.
Last text message? Asked me how my trip was
What is the closest green object? Mouse padDo you know how to draw? Yes, I've improved a crap-load in a month. But still room for more improvement!

Person1 came to art with Person2 this morning. Late. Well I can forget about Person1 now! Im such an idiot, theyve probably liked each other the whole time! How long have they been at it and I never even realized? Im so oblivious to these things.
Anyhow, I was finishing up my animation later that day, all in a rush because I had an appointment at noon, when Person2`s computer starts to fail. She gets up and fiddles with the switches and BOTH OUR PC`s SHUT DOWN. I hadnt saved my work!! If it hadnt been such a lulzy situation I would have been mad, but Ive always thought Person2 was very sweet. I approve of her

I got my eyebrows done today. With a knife/blade, lol. Ive never gotten them done that way before, it felt kinda good actually!
Not much else to say right now, thanks for all the comments and support! Yall are great readers

My animation teacher is so nice/patient with me! He knows about my "issue" with quietness so he brought in some CDs to make it less scary for me. I felt kinda bad for the others in the room though, I know not everybody likes to work with music.
I love working with India Ink! I`ve got to try and scan some of my stuff in.
So let me update... I havent really blogged in a while. What to tell... uh, the Colombian guys are the best in the word, I think I want one. Colombian girls are also beautiful. Seriously, Ive never really been big on wearing makeup but now that Im here I put it on everyday to try and "keep up" with the other girls. My daily face gunk has gone from just chapstick to liquid foundation, bronzer, blush, clear mascara, eyelash curler, black mascara. No, I dont feel fake.
PEOPLE HERE ARE SO DUMB!! All this "Colombian pride" and they dont even think twice about cleaning up their own trash! For example, I was taking a walk with a friend and we bought some sort of street meat (dunno the real name), when we finished she just threw the plastic cup in the grass nearby! I was all, "HOLY CRAP, what did you just do??!". And then yesterday I was taking another walk with a cousin, and this person just threw a soda can like nothing out on the street. I did lots of litter-picking here.
Yesterday I saw Person1 with Person2. I dont know what to think, its really been eating at my mind. But who was I trying to kid, I dont stand a chance!

Today was the first day of art class, it went okay but tomorrow will be longer so let's see how I'll hold out.
Now, before y'all take it the wrong way: It's not that I think it's boring. No. I'm just a very anxious and uneasy person. I don't know if I mentioned it before in a blog, but whatever: Earlier this year I've gotten anxiety attacks. Like, I'm serious about this, they were honest-to-goodness "attacks".I don't know why I suddenly got them this year, but it's been really screwing with me. I don't do things like I used to, the simplest thing, like sitting in a quiet klassroom can set me off. It really really sucks, mostly because I know what it's like to do everything so normally and calmly. I've learned how to handle this better, I haven't had a full blown attack since March, but I still get heightened anxiety at things. Stupid things that doesn't make sense to be worried about. I hate this.
So why this relates to the art klases? Quiet klassroom.
I should just think postitive. Do any of you have any tips on how to talk yourselves down from severe stress?
Blah. Done with that. On to better things. I got a pedicure today! I was in "desperate" need of one, lol. But it was so cheap, I nearly fainted. It only cost me about $6 USD, compared to the $20 pedicures in the US. I am loving the prices here.Something I'm really not loving though is the air here. It smells so bad! I can't remember the air pollution being this gross last time I was here, could it really have changed so much in 2 years?

Where I'm staying at this week has got internet connection, I'm very happy about it

Um so yeah, long plane rides suck, but that's over now. Today was my first full day here. I'm staying over at a friends house and, she being the fashion design student that she is, had tickets to some sort of fashion show/event/brunch. It was a really upscale thing, but I didn't have enough time to get ready- I couldn't find my box of earrings! To go without earrings is like to go without shoes to Colombians
Speaking of shoes, I forgot to change out of my house shoes before I left, so I was there with a bunch of supermodels (not kidding), fashion designers, and press people in a really gross pair of flip flops. LOL. I was the youngest person there, but they still served me drinks haha! First drink tasted like spiked orange juice, second drink was some sort of clear alcohol with fruit floating in it (way too strong for me... I put it back), and then I had to pass on the third round, which was pink champagne. The actual brunch was jamon serrano wrapped around something yellow, chorizo, morcilla (rice and blood sausage) , and a slice of waffle, all in the *tiniest* little portions.
While there I got my picture taken with my friend for a magazine. One of those photo spreads of random people at high end parties I guess.
My klasses don't start till Monday.
I forgot how beautiful the city is. I love the colors and the shapes of the mountains! I would post pictures, but y'all know about my camera.- Posted Aug 1, 2008 9:29 pm PT

Well Comic-con was definitely an experience. Tips to remember for next year:
1. Don't wear heels.
2. Don't go alone, or at least plan ahead to meet up with someone.
3. For big events, get in line at least an hour and a half early.
4. If you're not completely broke, actually buy a ticket. 3 hours of standing up cuts a huge chunk of Con out of your schedule.
Also, for all who don't know yet: I'm going to be out of the country the month of August, unless I can somehow find the internet where I'm staying. And if I bring a laptop, which I think would be a good idea, but seeing as it's not *my* laptop I don't really have a say.
My camera broke yesterday, what now. I kinda wanted it for South America. I guess I can take my big Canon film one. Haha, I should take the huge camera lense too, and tripod. And one of those detachable flashes! Won't that look professional. lol.
OK, I've got watercolors that need packing. Bye everyone!- Posted Jul 29, 2008 3:10 pm PT

Friday was AVATAR DAY!!!
Okay, the Con for me began with my 4:30 shift at the Art Show. My job was to tell people to put their drinks away and check in their large bags, much more glamourous than Thursday's job! lol. However, I was told that my shift would end at 6:30, but it ran late! I was so nervous I'd miss the 7:30 Avatar Panel, but at around 7:15 they finally let me go.
So I went to hall, and saw that the line wrapped all the way around the wing of building! Saw some cool cosplayers while I was walking to the end though
Oh gosh, I was so excited my hands were clammy- hate that feeling!
Since I got to the thing a little late (15 min early
) I was stuck with seats in the way back. The people around me were kinda dull, even telling the people up front to shut up with their screaming. Not real fans
Still awesome to finally see the panel LIVE and not on Youtube!

It's on youtube now!
And Bryke confirmed there will be no Book 4. Sorry.- Posted Jul 26, 2008 11:18 am PT

A make-up post for yesterday!
So first thing I had to do was volunteer. Orientation took so long! But anyways, I was supposed to work as like, "door control" for room 6CDEF, the same room the Avatar panel will be in today. Let me tell you it's huge!
Soon as my shift was over I went to get in line for the Twilight panel and I saw some friends from school already in line (I saw so many people from school there yesterday!). They told me just to squeeze in with them so I did. Then these girls behind me started talking all nasty to me! I know what I did was kind of unfair to them, but sheesh no need to get all worked up about it.The Twilight panel was awesome! It was actually a Summit Pictures Panel, so we saw previews for "Push" and "Knowing" too, they both look good. It was really cool to see the actors live though

Robert Pattinson!
Stephenie Meyer! Saw a few people in Avatar Spirit.net shirts, tres chouette.

Yeah, I'm attending this year... as a volunteer!
So today was preview night....only the exhibits were open. It was packed and colorful and noisy!
(Avatar stuff on display!)
(very crowded) The wait in line to get in was pretty long, an hour and a half. But the one thing that is still bugging me is the sign in for volunteers... I don't know if I checked in correctly, they kept sending me to all these tables and I ended up getting lost (the building is gigantic)! So uh, don't know where I'm supposed to go tommorow, all I know is that I'm not allowed to wear jeans.
I saw this girl in a black Avatar t-shirt, I got so excited! I would've snapped a picture of it but I didn't have the camera out in time. Also it would've probably weirded her out
As confusing as it is, it's been a really cool experience-and this is just a preview! Tomorrow is the first "actual" day of comic-con, more updates then.

To tell you the truth, I'm not really a tv person. From time to time I'll watch a show, and there are some that I enjoy more than others, but never have I followed a series like I did with Avatar.
It's very surprising to me actually, that I grew to love this show so much. It didn't really seem like my type, just another trendy anime-esque show, and I ignored it for so long. But I am so glad my cousin reccomended me this back in November 2006 (I came in a year late- but that was when Youtube still had episodes!)Last year, I honestly didn't think I'd still be into it now, I thought since I was *so* into it then (checking out forums, fanart and amvs...), that it was a phase and would just fizzle out like the rest of them have. But it wasn't.
Amazing how much this show touched me and so many others. It's wonderful to know an animation can do that. It brought together so many different kinds of people! Something I love, other than the show itself, is the sense of community this fandom has. It's really been great to meet all of y'all here at tv.com, and then later as fugees

I guess what makes this show even more special was how it opened our eyes to what can be done with Weastern cartoons, it's not all Camp Lazlo and Fairly Odd Parents! Avatar opened whole new doors in this field...I wish I could express my feelings about the end of Avatar better...I just feel so happy! It's over, there'll be no more giddy excitement about a new episode airing on Friday, or fan speculation about what the next chapter title means, and that's sad...but what an experience! I did not cry today, which even shocked myself, I just feel too satisfied to shed tears.
-spoilers below-
Okay, Sozin's Comet: the best tv experience of my life! The Azula vs. Zuko battle was my favorite, it was beautifully quiet, and their movements so artful! Which brings me to the unravelling of Azula. I loved it. I liked how they showed her losing it so slowly...episode by episode, and then BAM! Her breakdown. I wouldn't have done it any other way, but I still felt pity for her! When you can make someone feel pity over a cold villian, you know you've done something right to create human-like characters! The animation was beautiful, almost as if you were watching a high budget movie at times! JM Animation Studios was wonderful as always, but even the sub-par studios like Moi and DR Movie did a stellar job, you could hardly tell the switch! The details in the faces, the lighting, the camera angles!!!! I can't wait to do this in college
Oh yeah, and how they managed to break your heart without killing off the characters? Genius. I was totally in fetal position with that Sokka and Toph scene. And omgsh Suki, it was so painful to see her get seperated.
I'm glad I "came out" with that to my parents, I'M GOING TO BE AN ANIMATION STUDENT AND IT'S OKAY!! Ahem...
I'm glad I stayed mostly ship-neutral or else the ending would have killed me. Yes Zutarians, main guy/main girl gets cliched, but at least they did it tastefully! And Mai/Zuko turned out not be as bad as previously thought. And it was very nice (that's definitely an understatement) to see how Katara and Zuko cared for each other during that Agni Kai.
It's been many hours since it aired, but I still feel that great post-finale feeling
Thanks to all who helped bring this show to life, and thanks to everyone here on the forums for being a great part of the experience!- Posted Jul 20, 2008 1:21 am PT

It's finally Avatar week! Even though I've already seen WAT through The Boiling Rock (yeah, I couldn't hold out), I'm still really stoked about watching them air on TV. And even more excited for the new episodes starting on Thursday! Actually I have a cousin staying with me starting tomorrow...and she's gonna want to go out every night. I'm going to have to make it clear to her that from 8-8:30 is strictly Avatar time

I love lemoncookie.com and 4chi.co.kr clothes! Though 4chi is kinda expensive... I just really wish they shipped internationally. It's hard to find clothes that come in those bright colors, or find similar types of skirts, in the US.
I hope I don't sound materialistic for talking about this, haha.
Rented "The Debut". The Filipino-American indie film with none other than PRINCE ZU...er I mean, DANTE BASCO! I haven't seen it yet, so no opinion yet...
I think I should mention how upsetting it was to see Miss Colombia lose to Miss Venezuela last night
Okay y'all, enjoy your day but come home in time for 8:00!

Then I will be FREE for the summer! Or at least until I find a part-time job.
So what have I been doing? I've been ANIMATIN', how awesome is that. I like the way it sounds, "I have been animating"!!It's been a living dream, no joke, and I'm for SURE this is what I'll want to do for the rest of my life. Now if I can just pull together a portfolio by the end of 2008 that would be great.
Wow, just a second ago I was trying to find something in my purse, and then I completely forgot what I was looking for. I hate having senior citizen moments like that...but seriously what could it have been, I think it was something important...The soundtrack to "Love Actually" is pretty good.
THOSE KANYE GLASSES ARE EVERYWHERE D: Now I *really* dont like them, they looked okay when he wore them in the music video, but when you see a bunch of kids (usually blondes for some reason) wearing them daily, you really began to wonder just how they can see at all through them.- Posted Jun 26, 2008 6:55 pm PT

I'm not even supposed to be on here! I have a crap load of things to do and it's like, not even Saturday anymore. Let the screaming commence!
But yeah, here I am. I'd like to let you guys know that although I'll probably still be off line for the next two weeks (so busy, and full, and AHHH!) I *have* joined the Avatar Refuge forum under the same sn

3May 08Just chilling out, listening to bollywood music...they dance so cool in those music videos xD
Not alot to report on... just happy about warmer weather. Not so happy with the wait for new ATLA episodes. But does anyone remember the show Daria? They used to play it on MTV a long time ago. Well I found if through youtube (where else?) and it's been my holdover for ATLA. I don't remember liking it this much when it was actually on tv.
There's not much to do today...I've accidentaly-no joke!- turned down all social opportunities, even a concert. What's the matter with me?! I have to handle my people better
Man, the forums here have become really unappetizing. I don't want to post... I guess that's good though. I don't need any more reasons to tie me to the computer.
So maybe I should like, go study or something. But first can I pimp y'all out to Jen Wang's flikr? I love her creative eye!- Posted May 3, 2008 8:38 pm PT

And I quote Kanye because I have found his glasses, the cool ones that screw with your peripheral vision, online. This could be old news. IMHO $30 is kind of alot for plastic fad glasses.
Does anybody else know about that myspace girl? She got famous for making a song critisizing some hip-hop artist's manhood. Link to her video if your interested. The lyrics are kind of rude (well yeah), but they're in French.
I felt kind of stressed out today, hoping for a relaxing rest-of-week.
