    New PSN Account...

This rather unfortunate story on my end.. Just recently, on my previous blog, I got new PS3 Slim however after spending nearly 2 hours with few different Sony representatives they all gave me the same answer: "I'm sorry but your user-name account Sokol2007 (which I have had since my launch ps3..) has reached 5 accounts usage and you can't activate your PS3 Slim with the same name"...

I even tried de-activating my brothers PS3 I gave him few days ago but it appears I still have additional accounts used. In theory I have 4 PS3's since 2007 and it seems like I reached the limit..

There is nothing else they can do for me other then creating brand new PS3 Account. This means few things for me:

    - I lost my Qore subscription, I have to buy it re-subscribe again for a year service. 24.99$

    - I lost all of mine PSN download content, from Flower, to Wipeout HD, FFVII, Battlefield 1943 and so on. All of my DLC for any given game, and there are quite a few of them, from Dragon Age origins DLC - to Killzone 2 maps.

    - All of my 900 trophies are gone as well.

Basically, I have to start from scratch.

I updated my profile page to reflect my new PSN Name and I have re-added 90% of my friends list.

On the other side, there is really nothing I can do. I'll eventually, after few months get the trophies back but the rest I'll have to re-purchase. I guess.. it was my fault for having to many PS3's.. I'll keep this fresh new Account to one PS3 only.

I hope to see you folks online.

New addition to the family - PS3 Slim!

It's been some time coming, I'm a soft sponge when it comes to new technology and even though I already have original 60GB PS3 *updated with 320HDD* I could not resist purchasing brand sparkling new - PS3 Slim!

The reason is quite simple, I have a younger brother (Seventeen years old) and he pretty much grew up on PS1, PS2. In fact he is one of few young people that I know who don't have next generation console and "Thanks to my influence" he grew up loving JRPG's and RPG's in general.

He finally finished Persona 4 and Devil Summoner and he is as much hyped for Final Fantasy XIII, FFXIV and White Knight Chronicles as myself.

Being such a caring brother () I decided to give him a gift - my original 60GB PS3 as Christmas Present. Lets just say he agreed to hand wash and polish my car during the whole winter! Of course I wouldn't force him to do such a thing but I did agreed he will fill the gas up on occasions.

Anyhow, I decided to do some hard-drive swapping, the whole process took me 15 minutes not counting my initial personal back up data. I took my 320HDD and put it into my new PS3 Slim and installed 120GB onto his PS3. I finally stopped playing PS2 games and have no more need for backward-compatible system.

Few things to note for those who are thinking of purchasing PS3 Slim:

    - It doesn't come with HDMI cable.

    - It doesn't come with Ethernet cable. This completely surprised me as I walked into Internet Cafe store and bought 10 feet long Ethernet cord for 4$ CAD... C'mon Sony - you could had included the bloody cable.. On a positive note, it's Wi-Fi ready so... personal convenience I guess.

    - Hard-Drive is located little bit differently on the Slim model. Check your user manual, it's explained perfectly, it's still as easy to replace it. As always, keep it safe: 2.5"Sata HDD, 5400RPM speed. There are others but my experience and recommendations are - keep it 5400RPM.

The Slim itself is super silent, I don't know what they did but I can't freaking hear it. It also runs much cooler and I noticed XMB is faster a little while browsing.

Other then that, it's slick and stylish. At night, both eject and power button illuminate nice white glow which is a very nice detail touch.

Now.. all I need is PSP Go.. well, I haven't yet decided really, I have PSP 1000 model and I was itching to change it for PSP 3000 but then PSP Go arrived... I'm still debating which model to get but I need to hurry up - Gran Turismo on PSP is awesome.. ^_^

Dragon Age Origins Platinum + My GOTY nominees

I have to apologise to my fellow gamers and friends, I haven't been able to respond to many blogs I always read, in the last 2 months I had quite a few Night Shift work and sleeping had been a priority, rest assured I'll catch up.

Another year had passed, another good year for gamers. While I still find myself playing PS2 unfinished RPG's this year I was happy to add Demon Souls and Dragon Age: Origins into my collection. Both games are excellent and my next purchase is going towards White Knight Chronicles, which I'm hopping will have some kind of Limited or Collectors Edition.

After a little over 170 hours of gameplay I was able to finally reach Platinum in Dragon Age, all I can say - Bioware once again delivered excellent game and I'm fairly certain this is not the last of the game we will be seeing.

This morning I had a chance to see VGA's awards and while I agreed to some, majority were no to my taste and this is perfectly fine, we all have our own likings.

Now, before I declare my personal favorite game this year, I could not include all of the games I wanted. I only chose those I really, really enjoyed the most but in no means I didn't like the ones I haven't nominated.

    And now onto the list:

    - InFamous. - (Released in summer time just few days after my own 27 birthday InFamous easily got into my comic book superhero genre favorite page. While not perfect it's definitely one of the better super hero video games released recently)

    - Batman: Arkham Asylum. - (This brings us to my second favorite super hero game. This Batman is easily the best Batman I had even played, the creators got their hands on actors, locations and details were all superb. Any Batman fan will be in heaven.)

    - Dragon Age: Origins. - (Simply put - Bioware = worth your money+ quality RPG. I had played all of their games which go back to Baldurs Gate II on PC. If you enjoy RPG's Dragon Age offers tried and true formula for many, many hours of enjoyment.)

    - Uncharted 2: Amongst Thieves. - (Untouchable and gorgeous visuals, improved, more tight and responsive controls, excellent voice acting, great story, amazing multiplayer. Uncharted 2 has it all.)

    - Killzone 2. - (I'm not to much into FPS games however I lost over 110 online hours into Killzone 2. This is largely because of Orange Box was quite a terrible port for my system and I'm a bit fan of Team Oriented games. Playing strictly as Medic and Engineer I had a lot of fun with this superbly balanced shooter.)

    - Demon's Souls. - (Not your average RPG this generation, that's for sure. Where most games hold your hand, Demon's Souls requires patience, skills and in later levels teamwork. Daring, innovative and taking chances, I had fantastic time with Demon' Souls.)

    - Assassin's Creed 2. - (While I did enjoy the previous game, that's no where near as much as the sequel. Everything is much, much better. The story is great, more things to do, gameplay had been improved and rewards are constantly upon you. Upgrade system implemented, more game variety, pretty much one great package.)

There are others I have not mentioned however during the year those titles truly were my favorite, it's not a surprise that most of them came later in the year but that's something to change next year. Many games are getting released in first two quarters of the year and we don't even know what's upon us later in 2010 fall. Next year is shaping to be quite spectacular.

Now then, until later this month I post the winner which game is your personal GOTY, what makes is so special.
