One of the primary reasons I joined GameSpot was to rate and reviews games and have all that organized and whatnot. Having just completed my relatively brief review of the latest The Walking Dead episode, I'm not sure if I really even care anymore. I feel as if most of my reviews are forced, and I don't even know what the hell I'm rambling on about half the time. I've even backed out of multiple reviews because I had no idea where to go with them. Some games I simply have no desire to try and analyze and write a somewhat well-written review of.

While my writing skills have vastly improved since I first joined, (here is my first review)I'm still not all that great at it, and many of my reviews follow the same dull formula. I've done long amounts of time without writing up reviews, but I always eventually find the motivation. I kind of feel that my efforts are useless, even though I mostly write them for myself, because I know most people don't actually read other people's reviews. Honestly, I'm pretty much the same way, though I will glance at other reviews from time to time.

Anyway, I'm not sure why I'm going on about all of this. I was going to do a brief update, but figured I should, well, I'm not sure really.

So if you've paid any sort of attention then I don't have to tell you I just completed the latest episode of The Walking Dead, and you can go ahead and glance at the review or just the score if you want to know what I thought about it. I've also been playing Mass Effect 3, after having started it and taking a gaming break for about 2 weeks. While my initial thoughts were that it wasn't as good as Mass Effect 2, it's been growing on me. The gameplay is enjoyable, and the relationships and whatnot between the characters is amazing. I can't wait to finish the story, but I'm trying to do almost everything I can before I get to that point.

I guess that's about it. Until next time, the few of my friends on here that havn't left this site yet.

I've hit the same slump in reviewing. My last 2-3 felt very forced, and while my last review (for PC Spec Ops The Line) had very useful information you'd expect in a review and would help someone make a choice on whether to buy it now or on sale or at all- outside of that it just never flowed. That's been out of reach for me lately too and I've had plenty of games I've wanted to review but it just doesn't happen. I'm just not into it, though part of me wishes I would. (Guess I'm at war with myself?!). I try not to let it bother me too much, it'll come back at some point and I'll turn out some great reviews then- so will you.

I've been keeping an eye on The Walking Dead, may give it a try when all episodes are out. If I'm not mistaking, on PC Mass Effect3 now requires origin and there's no way that crap program is being loaded on my PC (many PC gamers are feeling the same way). You'll have to tell me what you think of it.

Yeah, some of my regulars have jumped ship as well, or just not on the site hardly ever anymore. The next game I hope to review is Counter Strike Global Offensive. I've been playing that (single player) this morning. I love it when game companies don't leave us out, and it doesn't only benefit single players like myself, it also lets the mp players play offline when traveling or otherwise without internet. Thanks Valve :)

@Tidal_Abyss Yeah, The Walking Dead is pretty cool. The writing is great it's choose most of your dialogue and other actions that affect the story. I don't know much about Origin, but it seems kind of dumb to have to play a game with that running. So I assume ME3 is one of those online required at all times game for the PC? I got into the series with the second game when it came on the PS3, my only disappointment is that I didn't start from the first game, but I'm liking the series nonetheless.

I havn't played Counter Strike, but a demo for it was automatically downloaded on my PS3 via Playstation Plus, so I might check it out sometime.

Don't bother reviewing something unless you want to. I like the Giant Bomb approach of "you guys know that this game is". If it's not flowing then stop writing for a while and play more games, win win.

@adam1808 The worst part is getting a good amount of it written up and then getting stuck and forcing the rest. I do enjoy just playing the game and slapping on a score more than I actually enjoy organizing my thoughts and writing up a review. That said and with a few exceptions, I probably won't be writing too many reviews for a while, unless I really have the motivation to.
