Deem's Christmas Chronicles - The Second Day Of Christmas

So... today was pretty weird. I stayed up pretty late last night, and I was woken up by my sister, who told me it was time for dinner already. So yeah, that was a bit weird.
Dinner was delicious though. Usually the second day of Christmas means fondue or gourmet or something like that, but my mom went all out this year. There was turkey, and rabbit, and all kinds of stuff. I really stuffed myself. I guess that while I was still asleep, I did get hungry.

And the rest of the day was spent playing games. At first, I played Fifa10 for quite some time. But then I decided to take advantage of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves' Double Cash Weekend, which resulted in me gaining three levels or so in half an hour. I think I'll add quite a bit to that tomorrow too.

I also downloaded the demo for Bayonetta. I thought it was pretty disappointing. I mean, sure, a demo isn't supposed to reveal all that much about the story, but it all seemed very vague and random to me. The combo's were nice, and pretty much everything move she had could be strung into it. What I did find weird was that all the special moves resulted in her stripping down to, well. Nothing. Anyway, I'm not too sure about this game yet. I kinda like what I've seen, but the whole atmosphere doesn't seem like something for me. I also decided to give Dante's Inferno a shot, by downloading the demo for that game. I'm not really sure what the game is about, but meh. I don't know the English equivalent to this, but over here we have a saying that goes like: "If you don't shoot, you'll always miss." Maybe I'll like the game. I mean, I didn't think Uncharted was for me, and now it's one of my favourite game series!

Deem's Christmas Chronicles - The First Day of Christmas

Today I hung out with my mother's side of the family. That's the part of the family that I actually consider as family. The people I was with yesterday seem more like... distant friends or something. Anyway, the presents were just what I expected. Envelopes with money. I gathered €100,- so I should be able to get myself an iPod with that.
The rest of the day was, well, nice. Eventhough I really miss the Christmas vibe since we don't open presents anymore. If I ever have kids, I'm gonna celebrate Christmas completely different from the way we do, that's for sure. I mean, it's nice, but it's just like a birthday. We eat, and sit around. That's pretty much it. Nothing special, you know. And that's actually all I have to say about today.
I've got nothing planned for tomorrow, so I guess this is the end of this year's Christmas Chronicles. I think I'll just start brainstorming about the first anual Deem Awards. I have no idea about the categories and all that yet, but I think I'll base them onall the games that I've bought this year, rather than thosethat were released this year... Anyway, you'll see.

Deem's Christmas Chronicles - Christmas Eve

The day started off pretty good for me. I got promoted in the Kingdom Hearts Experience, so I'm now an officer in there. Thanks, Smarts. So, after that, we went to some people that are kind of my uncle and aunt, but I don't think of them that way, 'cause they're only related to my dad's new wife.
I don't really like that side of the family, but at least the 'aunt' can cook. Dinner was absolutely delicious. I can't remember the last time I stuffed myself the way I did tonight. After that, it was time to open some presents. Unfortunately, my dad completely neglected my request for money so I could buy a guitar. I got some of the standard presents from my 'niece', deodorant and some showerstuff, a completely white sweater (which is not something I'd wear, I like prints, but hey, I can always wear it underneath a T-shirt) and €75,- in gift vouchers for the gamestore. So that's probably what I'll spend on Avatar: The Game. Overall, it wasn't the best Christmas I've ever had.
On the bright side, my dad told me he still had3 guitars on the attic. 2 accoustic, and one electric. He told me I could forget about the electric one, since it was worth way too much, and that he wanted to keep the accoustic one he usually played, but that he would give me the other accoustic guitar. All it needed was some new strings, which a friend of his could easily do, and that it was mine for the taking after that. So, that's pretty nice. That way, I don't have to fund my own guitar with my Christmas money. And that's even better, because I didn't get any money tonight so I never would've made it anyway. Maybe I can get myself an iPod now with the money.
So yeah. That was the best thing about tonight. After dinner, I played some Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games with my 'niece' and sister, but they both suck at it, so I won all the time. And they can't stand losing, so they quit after 2 circuits or so. God, I sometimes wish there were a few guys in my family, who liked gaming too. I mean, I don't have any brothers, and I don't have any nephews. I'm even the only guy in my street! The rest is all girls!
Anyway, I hope tomorrow will be better. At least I'll like the company better. My actual uncle's gonna be there, and he always cracks me up. The gifts however will surely disappoint me. I just know that that's only gonna be money. They don't even take the time to think of a present for me anymore. They just slip a few bills into an envelop and give it to me. I mean, sure, it's what I asked for, but it still feels a little unpersonal. Maybe that's why I haven't really enjoyed Christmas, or my own birthday the last couple of years... Anyway, before I start acting all emo and stuff about how I feel neglected and all that, I'mma hit the bed.
