Nearly Forgotten Games Worth Mentioning, Pt. 3
Return of Double Dragon
Ah, Kung Fu side-scrollers (not to be confused with regular 2-person fighting games). A long-winded cliche that is very rarely pulled off in a half-way graceful manner. However, one game in this genre stands out: Return of Double Dragon. This game single handedly proved that you need no purpose whatsoever to travel from Las Vegas to Hongkong to a jungle to God knows where else just to beat the living crap out of about 10 or 12 different bad guys intent on doing the exact same thing to you.
RoDD is unique in that it each button on your SNES controller is a different fighting move: Y is punch, X is jump, B is block, A is kick, and you can hold L or R to charge your attacks, giving you even more ways to slaughter you enemies. You can also pick up various weapons along your way, varrying from nunchuks to punching bags. But no matter how you do your opponent in, you always get a satisfying "HWWLLAA!" from them when they finally drop dead. The cool background music is a great addition, as well. You can choose to play on your own or with a friend, the latter being more fun by far.
In all, RoDD is a game that fighter fans won't want to miss. I've had this game for over 7 years now, and I still find great enjoyment in pressing L+Y, L+Y, and L+A respectivly to quickly and sufficiently dispatch my enemy.

Nearly Forgotten Games Worth Mentioning Pt. 2
One Must Fall: 2097
Remember 1995? Video games were just starting to get big, and at the top of the PC game food chain was One Must Fall: 2097, one of the greatest 2-D fighting games of all time (in my humble opinion). Not only could you choose from several different characters, you could choose what 100-ft. robot they commanded. Each robot fought differently, and each character had different colors and different story endings. While it didn't have the deepest, most intresting story, OMF: 2097 could easily be made into a pretty cool movie. If you have DOSBox on your PC, I think you should check out this half-Fighter, half-RPG phenomenon.

Nearly Forgotten Games Worth Mentioning
I just got done thinking about a really sweet, old game I used to play. Maybe you remember it?...
Chrono Trigger: From the creators of Final Fantasy came the most amazing RPG I've ever played, and probably ever will play. This game had it all, from a killer soundtrack I still find myself humming to one of the most compelling stories ever written, from an unforgetable cast to addictive gameplay. I can't believe so many people look for satisfaction in newer, "better" games when they could be blown away by quite possibly the greatest game ever created. This is the game that got some of my friends hooked on gaming in the first place. If you've never heard of or played this game, you don't know what you're missing. And I mean that. I've never played a better game in my life. If at all possible, please play this game!
