    She_Gamer's Dedication

Well I did it. I went out and bought an entirely new game system just for a few classic games. Do I regret it? Absolutely not. The thrill I felt starting up my old Spyro games topped even the excitement over purchasing Mario Kart, Mario Galaxy, and Mario Party (maybe not combined, though). It was like being reunited with an old best friend you had lost all hope of ever seeing again. However, to make my purchase even more worthwhile, I'm now looking for amazing PS games to add to my meager collection.

As I was searching, I was amazed at the fact that I had missed so many amazing games all because of my dedication to Nintendo. Games like Oddworld, Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy... Needless to say it was like finding a hidden treasure trove. I still love Nintendo, and as long as they don't majorly screw up, I always will. But no longer will I look down on other game systems as 2nd-rate. There are just too many great games out there to limit yourself to one system alone.

So once again, I'll appeal to all PS-ers for ideas for games that follow the same sort of style as the games I listed above. Thanks!

    She_Gamer's VC rant

Is it me, or is Nintendo using the virtual console as a way to release fewer great new games and relying on the re-release of classics to keep players interested? Don't get me wrong, I love Nintendo (and not afraid to say it) but personally, they should hurry up and release all the games we've been waiting and watching for rather than tick everyone off with the constant onslaught of games that (a) I've never heard of, or (b) wish I never heard of. And I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death, but all the same, I feel like ranting about it.

I have to admit, I don't spend a lot of time trying to find hidden gems. If it doesn't have Mario or Donkey Kong somewhere in the title, it's really hard to get me to take a closer look. So I guess that really limits what I call "great releases" on the VC. So if you know of a game that isn't part of a major platformer, and you believe it is the most fabulous, out-of-this-world, life-changing-experiance-type VC game, let me know. I may look into it.

Also, as far as upcoming titles, I'd love to see Super Mario Kart, Diddy Kong Racing, and Donkey Kong 64. Oh, and Psycho Fox. That one has sentimental value, if nothing else.

And in my own personal dream world, I'd love for the first three Spyros (developed by Insomniac Games), and Crash Bandicoot Warped (Naughty Dog) to somehow magically make their way onto VC as well. I don't really feel like going out and buying an entirely new game system just for four classic games. But I just might. Miss you Spyro! And your days of flaming sheep!
