    System Requirements Rant: Turok (PC)

    Consider me naive, but when I purchase a game that has system requirements that I meet or exceed, I expect the game to work. Granted, my computer is modest compared to most systems out there, but seeing as it slightly exceeds Turok's minimum req's, I expected a playable framerate.

    Such was not the case. Turok requires an Nvidia 6600 or better, 2.4 Ghz Pentium 4 processor, 18 (!!!) gb of hard drive space, and 1 gb of ram.

    My system is an Nvidia 7600GT, 3.0 GHz Pentium 4, and 2 GB of ram.

    I attempted to run this game on the lowest settings possible. As soon as the dinosaurs got on screen, my frame rate dipped from a sagging 20 FPS to an unplayable 10-14 FPS.

    This was with details set to low, biliniar filtering, no V sync, and 1024x768 (minimum) resolution. So riddle me this: How do people get away with releasing games with bull**** system requirements? Isn't that like false advertising?

    I can run CoD4 very well. Hell, I can get Crysis to give me a steady 30fps on the right settings. Unreal Tournament 3, Clive Barker's Jericho, and even Gears of War all run just fine.

    Anyway, I guess the point of this rant is this: 10-20fps max is not playable, and the system req's should not lead us to believe as such. I wasted money on this game and won't be able to play it until I get my computer upgraded.

    Also of note: this is the first game I've installed on my computer that simply was unplayable due to framerate issues. The graphics aren't even that good!

    Turok=LAME.
