I'm now an official registered member again! After the whole ordeal that happened in November with Jeff, I, along with many other members cancelled their Total Access accounts and I'm planning on sticking to my promise. The first thing I have noticed is the return of the infamous ads that plague the forums, but it is something I can live with as I rarely visit the forums anymore. Other than that, I really don't think I will miss it at all. In essence, I was paying money for a coloured username and no adverts. ![]()
I also have two weeks off school so I'll have more time to do more stuff. I'm still short of cash, too so I've no gaming updates to share. I'm still hooked on Call of Duty 4 which I play whenever I have time but as most of my friends either have RROD or are too busy, I'm stuck with the intelligent discussions about M16 noobs, Barack Obama and the odd 13 year old that decides to sing.
I'll cut this blog short so I can catch up on your blogs before I go to sleep.
Later.
Sorry about not being very active around here, and i'm afraid it's not going to change any time soon. I've got exams soon so i have been revising for them, among other things like my responsibilities for the school magazine, friends which all come before Gamespot.
I'll do my best to inconsistently post in your blogs, but in until the 28th May, i'll be pretty extinct. ![]()
Apologies for not being very active on Gamespot and posting in your blogs and my unions. Ive been insanely busy with life, really. I'll tell you the outcome of that interview i had but now onto what i have been doing gaming wise.
I'm still addicted to Call of Duty 4 and now that more of my friend have the game, i've been playing more multiplayer. I'm now level 38 on my second prestige with a kill streak of 25. I've also went back to playing Rome: Total War again. If you have never played it before and enjoy RTS games i would strongly recommend it. I got it for about £13 about 3 years ago and still play it. Even though i have Medieval 2, i always seem to drift back to Rome: Total War. The specs are also resonably low so you don't need a best of a machine to play it.
The interview i had would seemed to have gone well as i got an offer. The university i applied for was St Andrews - one of the top universities in the country - to do History. Now i have to choose between St Andrews and Edinburgh University for where I want to go in September. Thankfully i have some time to think about it.
I also recieved the Rainbow 6 faceplate that i spoke of in my last blog i've never had a faceplate on my Xbox before so it took me a while to take the white one off. I got there in the end though and it looks great. Thanks once again to Jam for sending it to me ![]()

I've always been a fan of snowboarding so i decided to buy Amped 3. It was only £10 so it didn't break the bank and for the 30 minutes played it, it seems quite good. It reminds me a lot of SSX Tricky which was one of my favourite PS2 games back in the day. I'll post a more detailed hypothesis of the game later.
I also decided to go for Prestige Mode in Call of Duty 4, eventually. So far i'm glad that I did. I wasn't that upset about losing my weapons as i used an Ironsights MP5 which I am using at level 11. The only thing I am missing is some of the perks and just the variety of choices that I had when I was at a high level.
I've also yet to finish Devil May Cry 4 and a vast array of games yet to complete including PGR4(
), Prey, Tomb Raider, The Orange Box and Rainbow 6: Vegas. Speaking of Rainbow 6, i got a PM from Jam_FDUK stating that i won one of the Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 faceplates from the competition she was holding, so a big thanks to her. ![]()
I'm sure most of you will already have heard of Giant Bomb courtesy of Jeff's blog but if not, check it out. It will blow your mind. ![]()
I'll have to cut this blog short because I have a university interview. ![]()
Courtesy of me playing Call of Duty 4 almost daily, I'm nearing the decision of whether or not i should do Prestige Mode when the time comes. I'm currently on rank 53, and my only real achievement is getting the blue camo for the M4. Other than that i think i could live with myself going for it. Only time will tell
Anyway, time for a random update on my weekend:
Broke
That's right, I'm broke. I have no money for anything anymore as it is all going into my bank account for University or going towards driving lessons which cost £40 for two hours.
I also got an email from Microsoft saying that my Gold Subscription is about to run out, and there are still a bunch of games I want. Maybe having no money will allow me to spend more time studying, which is a positive.
A National Treasure
Yesterday, I took my younger brother to see National Treasure 2. When he asked if I would take him to see it I was rather optimistic about watching it but i found it to be quite enjoyable. It's not Oscar quality but it did yield some laughs and the actions scenes were pretty good. I don't know why he took so long to want to go see it, and we were lucky to find out that it was still showing in an independent cinema.
Another Review
I got round to finishing an old review that I started a while ago: Warriors Orochi. Being a huge fan of the Dynasty and Samurai Warriors franchise, even i was disappointed with this game. The review can be found here.
Birth Daze
It was my girlfriend's birthday today and I had planned to take her out to dinner, but she had other arrangements with her family. I would have accompanied them as she wanted me too but her Dad really does hate me and would not allow it, so I instead took her out to lunch. We then went for a walk up to this hill that looks over the town in the underlying valley. However, on the way down we got completely lost and ended up near the M6 motorway.
Thanks to my scout-like navigation we managed to get home before her day hated me even more (which i doubt is even possible
).
That's all for me today. I'm going to see if i can get into a game in Call of Duty 4.
~Sharvie.
Today has been an eventful day to say the least. The weather has been atrocious with high powered winds and rain all day long. Te power went out for a couple of hours, but was back up at around 6pm. When it came back on i managed to squeeze in some game time playing Devil May Cry 4 and Call of Duty 4.
The new patch is out for Call of Duty 4, too. While I don't like to see more fixes which encourages more sniping in the game, the new kill cam feature is very cool. On the subject of Call of Duty 4, I went back to the singleplayer game to attempt Shock and Awe on Veteran and i finally managed to do it:

I've been struggling with this mission for ages so it feels glad to beat it. I could never beat the first stage of the level where your helicopter is flying into the city. Surprisingly after I got past it, the rest of the mission was a breeze.

On another note, I posted up my Spider-Man: Friend or Foe review yesterday so check it out. Overall, the game was "nice" there is virtually no replay value and with the game so easy and short it's not really worth that much.
On that sombre note, have a good weekend.
