Tales of Vesperia - DEMO IMPRESSIONS (PlayStation 3)

    Hey GameSpotters!!

A lot of you are probably aware that Tales of Vesperia is indeed PS3-bound. It is gonna add some new additions, which will be exclusive to the PS3 port. A good example of the extras is the new ally, Patty, who is a young female pirate. Tales of Vesperia is making a release in Japan on September 17th, 2009. No release dates for the US or PAL regions have been revealed yet.

Today, on July 13th, 2009, the demo of Tales of Vesperia made it to the Japanese PS Store. I made a Japanese PSN account, and for the first time, I would finally play テイルズ オブ ヴェスペリア ! Hell, the 360 version isn't even out here in NZ yet (EB Games says the 16th, slack!).

While the demo was downloading, I was getting really excited. I have been a huge fan of the series ever since I first put the first disc of Tales of Symphonia into my GameCube. Of course I was very excited for Vesperia. The location in the demo was some deep forest (wasn't able to translate the location name fully, Hey my Japanese isn't perfect!). In your party was Yuri, Estellise, Rita, Repede, and in back-up was the bonus character, Patty. No Judith in this demo though. Everybody had a level in the 20's, obviously this forest is at least a few hours into the game. The exploring felt exactly like Symphonia, which I was quite happy with. The graphics are amazing! Do I seriously need to say any more about them? Battle system isn't anything new, but I still enjoyed it, nevertheless. There were a lot of skits in the demo, though I'm not that fast when reading Japanese, so I couldn't translate them. Sadly, the demo wasn't that long. After the forest boss, Coming Soon would appear on the screen. I WANT MORE!!

Overall, the demo was kickass. Another demo that I will be addicted to for a while (Resident Evil 5 was a good example, NuKkU knows about this). I am really hyped for the full game now. I may even record demo gameplay for YouTube. Thanks for reading, despite the fact that most of you reading have probably already completed this on Xbox 360.

    Have a nice day.

Yeah, I don't actually have an Xbox 360 yet, but i'm a big fan of the series, and this is one of the reasons why I want the system. Besides, it's a Limited Collector's Edition!! Seeing as that I've got this, I need to get the system now.

Also.....I can't believe it's three discs long! SO2 and 3 were only two.

And i'm still annoyed that it ain't on the PS3!! Square Enix really does hate me!! Hey, it ain't my fault that Dragon Quest Swords sucked.

    DISAPPOINTMENTS OF THE MONTH

I have a few, I couldn't come up with just one.

-Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. I loved FFIV. The folks on RPGfan said this was awesome. No, it's not awesome. I confess, I haven't finished it yet, but from the one hour or so I've played of it, it's so far very cheap, and empty.

-Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Dialogue and plot were terrible, and the movie was too long. I won't say anything else, because I'll just spoil the story. A good popcorn movie, but that is all.

-And of course, the death of the KING OF POP. I do not envy anybody who bought a ticket to his London concert.

    NEWS OF THE MONTH

Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009 from cardiac arrest. May he rest in peace.

    WORD OF THE MONTH

    Death.

LOOK OUT FOR THE OTHER MONTHLY BLOGS!!
