AOL: The Great Satan
AOL is continuing it's eternal jackassery this week. They have realized that people don't like to pay $26/month for a really crappy 'internet' interface, slow speeds and immense amounts advertising. So, in their great wisdom they are starting to give out some services for free.
The first is that they are making 5 gb of storage available for free. Pretty nice, eh? Well, yes I suppose that's pretty good. But, just to one up themselves they are going to have 50 gb, yes 50!, available to those that continve to pay the $26/month for their dial-up service.
"Wait. What was that?"
They are giving subscribers 50 gb of storage.
"No. Not that. The subscriber part."
The $26/month for dial-up?
"Yea, that."
That's right! If you pay $26 for dial up you can have 50 whole gb available for your storage needs! So, if you have the patience to sit and upload data every minute for that entire month you might be able to use your 50 gb. Come on AOL. You've been praying on the tech illiterate people of the US for god knows how long. Please just eat s*&t and die!

Redesign
I'm still trying to decide if I like the new redesign. It definately has some cool features aobut it, but there is something about it that just doesn't quite do it for me. Hmmmm. I guess we'll just have to use it for a while.- Posted Oct 9, 2005 9:01 am PT
