It's spring, the snow is melting, so there are piles of dirt and garbage everywhere.  My allergies are acting up or out, or something.  Then it tried to snow again today - but it didn't stick to the ground.  I walked to and from work today.  I can see an end, an end to winter. 

Spring also means the last 6 weeks or so of television.  I both love and hate season finales.  They are some of the best episodes, great writing, acting, directing, and exciting plot devices.  It also means we are closer to summer reruns - which I do not like.  So it is happy, and sad.

Will you be my valentine?  I think I have fallen in love with you.  Your pretty and black.  Your back is shiny.  You're constantly in my possession.  Sometimes I hold you in my hands.  Sometimes I just let you sit there while I listen to your soothing sounds.  At the gym you pump me up and encourage me to keep going.  At night you are with me until I fall asleep.  Sometimes your loud, but that's ok, sometimes I am loud too.  You never mind driving with me place in my car.  You don't make fun of my off key, out of tune singing.  You have a wide variety of taste in music. 

Oh, iPOd, will you be mine?

So it has been a crazy couple of weeks.  I have gone slightly MIA.  I apologize.  I missed you all. 

On Jan 8 our installations team at work was split up into 4 separate teams.  I now work downstairs in customer service.  It's a whole different floor.  My desk is bigger.  I don't have to put up with some of the people I don't like as much.  I am almost settled in now, almost.  But it was a big change and sometimes my head still spins. 

On Jan 19 I went on a weekend trip to Jasper.  It's the annual ski trip organized by a friend of mine at work.  This is my fourth year.  I don't ski.  I spend the weekend shopping, eating, driking, dancing and having an excellent time.  This was the best year yet.  It took me until Wednesday before I started to feel normal again.  I can't say anything more - ecspt I got a shirt that says "What happens in Jasper, Stays in Jasper."  It sums up the whole weekend.

CSI Season 7 ROCKS!!!  I mean, it's not the same without Grissom the past couple of episodes - but if he's going to be gone - this is damn good television.

My only wish SIGN UP FOR SEASON EIGHT JORJA!!!

It's minus 17 outside (1 degree for those of you with that outdated Farenheight system) - but with the wind it feels like minus 28 (convert it yourself). 

Visability is crap - it's freaking cold - it's a blizzard (really, the weather channel told me so).

And of course it's my day off . . . I had plans . . . but I fell on my a$$ just walking to my car, in my boots - then the car wouldn't go up the small hill, so I drove the long way around to get out of my apartment complex  - when I spun the car out I figured it was a sign.

So I slowly drove back home and I am going to stay here until I have to leave for work tomorrow.  Where are the grating and sanding trucks?

Schools are still open - people are going to work - but they (um who are "they" anyway??) suggest if you don't have to go anywhere to stay home.  Sigh. 

It's only going to get colder - you know it's bad when the line on the 14 day trend goes below the chart - here's an idea  - make a new chart to include miuns 34.  Or maybe it should never get that cold.

Thank goodnes for CSI season 6 (all I have left are the commentaries) and CSI: New York season 2.  If anyone is looking for me I'm bundled under blankets on my couch.

I love the Christmas holiday season - but my already busy life has become increasingly more hectic.

At work things are changing - as of January the departments ar changing around a bit.  Processes are suppossed to change too.  Everything is a little bit up in the air right now.  We're suppossed to have some meetings this week and find out, well, stuff.  It's just all a little confusing.  Let alone we are going through the holiday rush where people want to get security systems installed before the holidays.

At home - my rommate got a second job on the weekends.  It's great, well maybe, she's not sure about it yet.  Unfortunatle this means that our Sunday trip to the movies is not happening.  We'll have to make a plan to go on Friday night. 

I'm also trying to get my home cleaned up and decorated for Christmas.  I love all my holiday knick knacks.

My company's Holiday Gala was on Friday.  So much fun.

It's all down hill from now until January 2 - I have to go Christmas shopping, see if I can buy something nice to wear Christmas Day, get my car fixed - etc, etc, etc.  It's fun but a little crazy.

I'm having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.  First I couldn't get out of bed.  It's payment week at work, I have all these invoices that I need to make the purchase orders for and approve and then send to accounting.  I was going to go in early.  But I ended up going to work on time, at 8:00am instead of 7:00am. 

Then it was raining, freezing rain, and it was slippy walking to work this morning.  And cold.  Icy and chilly.  Ick.

Then my computer wouldn't work.  I had to sit at two different computers today, neither of them were mine, and it was just wrong. 

Just I was finally getting some work done in between phone calls, including one from a mean woman blaming all the wrong people for the reason we could not install her security system today, all 3 printers in the buildgin stopped working.  Now the printer in my department had not been working since Monday, then the one in finace stopped working, I went all the way downstairs only to find that the main printer had been offline all day.  I only had 5 invoices left.  Crap.

One of my co-workers brought in doughnuts and I couldn't resist the temptation.  I know, it's just one doughnut, but I have been eating a lot of thing that I shouldn't this week.  So this was just one more thing to make me feel guilty.  I hate food guilt. 

Sigh.  At least the day is almost over, CSI is on tomorrow, and I'm going to go watch Heroes (I recorded it on Monday). 

Is there a reason to get out of your pjs when you just had your first snowfall and you have hours of television, movies, and computer entertainment?

No!

It's pretty outside - but cold.  I should have gone out to get a new light for the kitchen, but hey, a combination of the light from the pantry + the light above the stove + a lamp makes it so it's not pitch black in there.  I can make due until tomorrow.

I have been reading Danny/Lindsay fanfic until I started to get a headache from staring to long at the computer. (ok, ok, I admit, there was a little Sandle fic in there too, I still love GSR, but sometimes, when you love Greg and Sara so much, you can just kind of see them together, either that or I have been talking to Sugan too much   )

Watched Don Juan DeMarco again.  Sigh.  Johnny Depp is so hot.  And the movie is just so damn sexy and romantic. 

Mmmm cozy snowy days on the couch.

 . . . everything, so much clearer and brighter, and it's just so beautiful.  No, not a new prescription for my glasses, a new computer screen.  I just can't tear myself away from all 17 inches of it's power.  I've had LCD flat screens at work for, I don't know, 4 years at least . . . but always put up with my old clunky, monitor at home.  Until I started downlaoding so many videos and pics (so, really YouTube and Photobucket are to blame) I didn't know what I was missing.  WOW!  I may end up with eye strain at the end of this weekend because I can't stop looking.  I should really go to bed, but, can't leave.  Ok, ok, I'll just review a couple of shows and then I'll go to bed, maybe. 

So it's Thursday - which is the beginning of all the great days of the week.  Tonight CSI is on (whoo hoo) and I can stay up late, because tomorrow is Friday and I don't start work until 11:30am, and then comes Saturday and Sunday - two days filled with anything I want, but they usually involve a movie. 

Also - on Thursdays I have dinner with "the girls".  My best friend Elle from high school, Jo (who was best friends with Elle in junior high and then I went to university with her, we tool Algebra together and took the bus home together most days), and Kris (my roommate).  I love that I am still friends with Elle after 14 years.  We kind of lost touch for the past few years, but now we are back hanging out (at least every Thursday).

I'm just bored . . . wanted to see how many smilie faces I knew how to make . . .

If I was one of those rich spoiled girls who are famous for their last name and became a celebrity just because they are pretty . . . . I would spend all my money and influence buying everything I want, when I want it. 

But I am just a spoiled girl who just had her birthday.  So while my parents are well-off, I  on the other hand live on my own and work at a mid-level office job.  They gave me money for my birthday.  Then I got paid on Friday.  So what do I do?

GO SHOPPING!!!

First I got a new haircut.  It's cute and fun.  Just take my word for it, I don't have a digital camera. 

I finally found a new bra.  Let's just say that I am a well-endowed girl.  Even after losing half the weight I need to lose to get down to my goal.  I did not go down in cup size.  Ok, this is getting a little personal.  But it's my blog.  And I am so excited to actually find a nice new bra.

I also bought a pair of new jeans, 2 shirts (on sale!), socks, underwear. 

I still have money left - even after filling my car with gas.

Money is burning a hole in my pocket, must spend . . .I have already paid my bills and put money in my savings account.

So - there shall be more shopping, soon.

YEAH!

It's Tuesday - but since yesterday was a holiday it is really like a Monday.  So why do we try to fit 5 days worth of events of a regular week into 4 days?  Why?

And it's payment week at work - I am one part in a series of steps to get our installers paid for the work they do.  But this week, I lost a day, so now I have worked 3 hours overtime today, and I'm going in early tomorrow, and I'm really tired.

And it's cold outside.  Cold enough to snow if we get precipitation overnight.  Oh well, warm pjs and and an extra blanket on my head will help keep me warm.  That and dreams of Greg, or Nick . .  . or the other hundreds of hot men on television.  I love eye candy. 

And mimi-mitts and a hat and layers will keep me warm while I'm walking to work tomorrow.  It reminds me that my winter boots still need a new shoelace.

And I need to sweep the leaves off my patio on to the front lawn.  Poor scarecrows that I have tried to attch to my fence, 2 of the 4 fell down and are lost in the leaves.  I need to get some wire or some other better method to keep them on the fence and not on the ground. 

And I'm still tired so I'm going to bed.

It's my birthday today!!  My roommate is the best - she posted these signs down the hallway of our apartment. Each one was a line in the song "Happy Birthday to You"  and the last sign was pinned to the couch and there was a birthday card.  Apparently I have to wait to get my present until she gets home from work. 

My parents are taking me and my brother out to dinner for our birthdays.  His birthday is October 7.  He is exactly 7 years and 5 hours younger than me.  My mom jokes that my seventh birthday party was so stressful that she went into labour.  It's funny because my due date was actually Dec 10, and his was Nov 3.  Yet somehow we ended up both being born around the Thanksgiving holiday.  I'm sure we'll also end up telling the story of how when my brother was born, my mom waited for my dad to finish watching the football game before they went to the hospital.  Now that is love.

So I'm off to go shopping - need some new clothes for sure.  Going to look around and see what else I might want.  I already have the cheque my grandma sent me with her card, my parents will give me money tomorrow, my GST money is already deposited into my account (Canadians who are over 19 get cheques from the Gov't every 3 months, some weird give back some of the tax we pay thing, it's cool), and I also saved up some of my own money.  I love shopping.

Oh television gods, how I love thee, let me count the ways . . .

I am now able to watch the CW - my Veronica Mars obession thanks you.

I get the east coast feed - so I can watch shows at 6:00pm, 7:00pm and 8:00pm . . . this means that with the east coast feed, the west coast feed, and the Canadian channels that have picked up US shows - sometimes a new episode of a tv show is on 3 times in one night.  Cool.

I'm going out tomorrow to upgrade my digital tv terminal to a PVR (Personal Video Recorder) - so I'll be able to record 2 shows that are on at the same time and watch another one that is on or I have recorded earlier.  It's my local cable provider's answer to TiVo for Canadians. 

How can you tell I am a huge television junkie? 

I have the next FIVE days off work - Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

I have Thursday off because I worked last Saturday (my turn)

I have Friday off for my birthday (more on that on friday itself) - with pay - one new policy at work that I agreed with.

Then we have the weekend - Saturday and Sunday

I have Monday off because it is Thanksgiving - in Canada.

I can spend endless hours here, catch up on my reviews, be a part of posting frenzies, get all the dishes done, organize my roomate's bedroom, do laundry, go shopping, watch hours of tv, sleep in, write fan fic, and cook yummy food.

...missed an episode? Um, nope, I usually watch it, and each Thursday I have at least 3 opportunities to catch the new episode (at 3 different times)

...read fanfic for a ship you don't support?  No, why would I want to read that? 

The season seven premiere of CSI was on tonight, finally, after so many weeks of waiting.  It was so worth the wait.  See my review if you want my take on the episode itself.

I just wanted to say I am addicted to this show, hopelessly hooked.  It's like a drug and I just got my fix for the week.  I am still really high but I am already thinking of my next hit.  Do I really have to wait a whole week?  I am going crazy.  Yuo can join my insanity if you want.

I can't remember being this excited, about anything, ever.  I have always loved this show.  I have watched every episode since day one, and I own them all on DVD too.  I was always happy to see the next installment, but now I have you - this group of wacky and brilliant people - with which to discuss each episode.  You feed my habit, making it bigger and better.  I haven't been this obsessed since I used to get together every Friday to watch X-files with my friends.

Here's hoping I calm down enough to get some sleep tonight.
