Hey all. I've been pretty much dead around here and I apologize. School has been busy as usual. AP classes are terrible and make me pray for death.
On a lighter note, I have presents. Enjoy!

Seriously, anybody? If I can get enough replies to this, maybe I'll make a comeback...

UPDATE: I will be returning, although you all may not see much of me until the 4th. My computer has been having some serious trouble, which has resulted in us having to buy a new hard drive and completely wiping the rest. My new hardware won't arrive until the 4th because of New Year's. In the mean time, I'm stuck on a crappy little laptop.

Hehehe, maybe that's a lie when it comes to my forum activity.

How long has it been since my last contribution binge here on GameSpot. 1 month? 2 months? Anyways, I'm sure all of you Raeget fans have been wondering what has been keeping me from posting in my blog/posting in forums/doing game-related things. Well, my friend, I can answer that in one word, two numbers, and decimal.
Web 2.0
Yes, this silly little Internet revolution has me in its grasp and rarely lets up on the grip. What can I say? I enjoy a World Wide Web that focuses on its community. Seems more organic. Hell, it's pretty too.

Now that I've introduced you all to my new-found addiction, let me show you the mediums that help me get that Web-geek high:
-Virb
-Twitter
-Lifehacker
-GizmodoHow about dropping me a line over in some of these places. My Virb profile has been pretty barren anyways!
So, what else have I been up to, you ask? An identity crisis would be a good description. I've gotten pretty tired with the Internet persona I've kept for all this time, so my mind has slowly been creeping towards the idea of a full makeover. Right now, I'm trying to focus on a good alias, preferably one that would look/sound good on a DJ gig poster (considering this is what I want to do primarily with my life; more on this later). My ideas for a name have been along the lines of something that describes me translated into a cool foreign word and a portmanteau (another cool foreign word; French too, which makes it extra cool!
) of two things representative of my personality. For example, one artist that I particularly like is Trentemøller, a Dutch House DJ with a super kick-ass alias. Now, granted, it is his last name, but I'd still love to think of one along those lines. Come on people, I know you can help me out here!
Now, I earlier mentioned something about wanting to become a DJ. Well, if you know anything about the entertainment biz, you should definantly know that it's...
SHAMELESS PLUG TIME!!! ^_^ IT'S SO KAWAII!
I was pretty bored yesterday, so I decided that it was a great time to pull out my copy of Traktor DJ Studio 3 and record a set. What I got was the best one I've done yet, so I figured that it would be great to let you guys finally hear a bit of what I can do. Sure, it's not perfect, but I was forced to do some multi-tasking. Mixing and helping your parents with finances is harder than it sounds!
Everybody But Robots Are Acceptable In The 80's
Well, that's about it for now. If you guys payed attention at all to my Web 2.0 rant, you should know some of the better ways to contact me directly. If you're not in the mood for those, you can always stalk me with MSN or Skype (which I finally fixed).
Ciao!

I just wrote one of these up over at the GTA Legends Union as an attempt to quell the talk of HamsterLV's pornography career, so I thought that I should repost it here for the sake of repitition:
Lifehacker - Best blog ever (even better than mine!)! They post all of the best tips, tricks, and hacks for making your life more productive. Definantly a great read if you love finding new Firefox plugins/Mac OSX apps/Ubuntu apps/cool gadgets to make your extra time/work time/party time that much better/easier/cooler.
Virb - I just discovered this recently and have been blown away. Think of all the social networking power of MySpace or Facebook put into one really pretty website. it's definantly worth a look if you're into these kind of things.
Twitter - This site can be a love/hate situation for most people. In a nutshell, it could be called miniblogging - posting small sentences under 140 characters about what you are currently doing. It may seem a bit mundane at first, but if you can keep with it and get some friends, you may just get hooked like moi.
eSnips - If you've been really paying attention to what has been going on behind the scenes with the podcast, you may know that we host our shows on this site. Anyways, that has nothing to do with why I posted this. It's because of the music. If you're a technically savvy person that knows their way around a web browser, you may realize the potential of what I have brought to your attention. That is all.
The Players Association - This place has taught me that all Google Ads are not created equal. after clicking on one of the pestering buggers, I was led to a smörgåsbord (this has been Raeget's Big Word of the Day) of DJ sets playing everything from Rap to House to Electro. If you're into electronic music or hip hop, I'd at least give this place the time of day.
BTW, if anybody is wondering, I do have Virb and Twitter accounts.

I won't be on GameSpot for most of this upcoming weekend, so I suppose that the least I could do would be to provide you all with something to bide the time until I return: a filler post!
1. I was born in San Diego, California.
2. I have 3 dogs, a cat, 3 fish, and a turtle. That's 8 pets in all.
3. I am one of the co-founders of the GTA Legends Radio podcast (although I had proposed the idea slightly before I left GS).
4. My first console was an educational gaming system called the Sega Pico.
5. One of my favorite hobbies is DJing.
6. My favorite thing to listen to is electronic music.
7. I hate stupid action movies that go for flashy effects and large explosions instead of what matters most: a plot.
8. This is my second GS profile. A cookie goes to anyone who can find the first one.
9. One of my favorite sites to visit is Something Awful.
10. Even though I am an officer at the GS-endorsed GTA Legends Union, I have never fully finished a single game from the Grand Theft Auto series.
11. My real life friends have dubbed me Jakerson.
12. I can play both Guitar Hero I & II on expert mode.
13. One thing that I can't stand is poor grammar and spelling. I understand that many GS users are from other countries and may not speak English as their primary language, but if it's your native tongue, you should at least put in the minute effort to figure out that "there," "their," and "they're," are three totally different words.
14. I have a Photobucket account.
15. I can be contacted through MSN Messenger or Skype (Yes, that button at the top really will call me).
16. I am single (Hey, ladies
).17. I worked only two days at my very first job before quitting.
18. It has been proven that I cannot survive without my trusty iPod. If I do not have it, I slowly drift into a psychotic state and suffer from hallucinations.
19. I have used up approximately 94.4369% of my PC's 222g hard drive.
20. I hate having my picture taken.
21. I have a lingering hatred for 1337speak. Honestly, it's like it was specifically designed for creepy 12-year-olds looking for hacker cred.
Thanks go out to effkay for this filler idea. Also, expect to (hopefully) see me around here alot more often. Tomorrow is my final day of school for this year, so apart from working during the weekends, I should have all of the time in the world.

I'm a pretty relaxed guy. I rarely ever come out of my shell and do something crazy. I've always kept quiet and never tried to do anything weird. Well, so much for that...
It all started on April 20th, 2007. JO, mosespippy, bureksasutlijom (one of my newest friends), and I had just finished recording the second episode of GTA Legends Radio. It didn't take up too much of my time. We kept the show short and didn't focus on off-topic nonsense so we could fit more of the important GTA news. After the recording was finished, all of stayed on Skype so we could goof around. Eventually, JO invited us all to some random conversation on MSN with some of his friends from Spiral Mountain.
Now this is when the real fun began...
I'm not going to go deep into the details of the following events, but do I need to explain the circumstances surrounding my behavior. It was very late and I was extremely tired. My parents were also going to be gone until afternoon of the next day, so I was taking full advantage of this short period of complete and total freedom to go nuts.
The chatlog is way to graphic to post here without being moderated, so if you'd like to see it, post your email address and I'll send you the .txt file. Trust me, you'll find it very funny if you can stand dirty jokes.
BTW, the second episode of GTA Legends Radio is finished. Check it out over at the board.
Also, THIS IS MY 50TH BLOG POST!!! PARTY!!!

I'm not really feeling up to writing a full-out blog post tonight, so I'm just going to make a quick checklist of everything that has happened since my last blog post. Think of it as an abbreviated version of my life, if you will...
Everybody do the happy dance 'cause Raeget got his learner's permit!
Starting sometime around the end of the school year, I'll be a working man over at my local water park! YAY ME!
I just recorded my best DJ set yet tonight. It's definantly not perfect, but I've gotten tons better since I first picked up this hobby. If anybody's interested in hearing it, feel free to leave a comment.
I saw 300. Woo. It was great. And overrated. At the. Same time. I didn't. Really care. For it. That much. Can you. Sense my. Enthusiasm?
Well, that's all I really care about talking about. I know there is a ton of other things that I could write about, but then again, who really cares? I need to stop yapping about my personal life so much.

BTW, do any of you have stairs in your house? Just wondering.

11Mar 07If you're one to judge, you may have assumed that the title of the blog post suggests that I may be trying new things that may or may not thrive off of my designated GameSpot time. STOP (Collaborate and listen!
)! You would be very wrong and you should be punched in the face, for this is not what you were expecting.
Okay, that was pretty gay I guess that I was running out of things to write. Anyway, now that I got that out of my system, I have something to ask you all. It's not a very big thing. I'd just like a few suggestions of some good UCB that I could join. They must be very active boards, considering that I have the strange habit of pressing F5 on my union forums until somebody responds to what I have written. Also, if anybody is a member of The Virtual Underground, I'd love it if you'd introduce me to the board. They totally remind me of the Something Awful Boards (on which I lurk) and I have this sudden urge to join them.
Thanks!
Edit: Screw the whole TVU thing. I realize that I don't really have all that much time to spend on the boards, so the few that I'm a part of now are fine. Still, thanks for the help Viennoiserie.

4Mar 07Many great men throughout history have looked at progress and change as a thing of evil. This monster, they believe, will only disrupt all that they have achieved in this great, big world. I am not one of these people. The status quo is something to be stomped on like an ant.
Ok, I suppose that's a bit too preachy for a blog post, but I'm just trying to get a point across. And why, you ask, should I worry about writing such a dialogue? Well, look several inches above on your screen, my friend, and you shall see the fruits of my efforts. Ah, smell the beautiful fragrance of my accomplishments. Let it...
MY GOD! IT SMELLS LIKE DOG FECES!!!
Sorry about that everyone.
I got a little ahead of myself. Ok, so there's really no big deal. All I did was make myself a new banner and blog header. Anybody can do something like that and it's certainly not an extraordinarily huge event event. I was just trying to make it sound as magnificent as it felt in my mind.
Comments would be much appreciated. This was my first time using vector brushes in Photoshop, so if it looks a tad odd, it just might be a tad odd.- Posted Mar 4, 2007 11:16 am PT

25Feb 07Well, I did it. I finally have returned to GameSpot. No more wasting me time with that hibernation junk. I'm here to stay.
Now that I'm back, the next logical step would be to tell you all why I was
gone for so long. Apart from all of the nonsense at home, I could
pretty much sum it up in one word: School. Sure, that it might sound
like a bit of a lame excuse, but considering that my entire schedule is
full of Dual Enrolled or Advanced Placement, you've gotta give me some slack. Now, I realize that some of you might be thinking, "But Raeget, who gives a **** about school?" Well, I really don't care what you all might think about this, but school will always come first for me. Sure, gaming is a very important part of my life. Hell, it pretty much defines who I am. But one thing that I have always strived to do is to live by my own personal creed. Number one on that creed is that school must come first. If I've got homework then there's going to be no WoW grinding until it's done. If there's a project due in two days, San Andreas will have to wait. It's as simple as that. If I want to eventually find my dream career, I have to stay up on my studies.
I'm glad I got that out of my system. Now for some updates of what has happened this weekend:
Phew, I sure am exhauseted. Considering that my state exams start tomorrow, I've tried to make the most of these past few days. On Friday, I spent the night at one of my friend's house. He had just gotten a second controller for his Wii, so we were finally able to play something together. Earlier, we went to the local Blockbuster and rented the new Sonic game and Employee of the Month (I absolutely despise Dane Cook, but my friend insisted). I'm not going to go into details about these two travesties, but I recommend never even touching them. In fact, avoid them like the plague. Anyway, I come home at about 8 AM and had to get a new haircut (Maybe I'll take a picture of my sexy self
). For the next 2 hours, I had to sit at home and wait for two of my other friends to pick me up. Earlier that week, we had all planned to apply for jobs at the water park down at the beach. In a sad turn of events, my friend's drunkard/redneck stepdad volunteered to drive us halfway across town to get there. Wow, I'll never forget that guy. His trasher Cadillac reeked of cigarettes and booze (not a good thought) and he was blaring Rob Zombie right as he pulled up. If you think that's bad, the drive there was 10 times worse. The freak cussed like a drunken sailor right in front of my friend's 3 year-old brother and we all were
crammed into the back seat without seatbelts (What? So I try to obey
the law. Who cares?). The only good thing that came out of the whole
ordeal was that we all got the job. At least something went right. After that, I stayed home for another few hours. I mostly browsed the GTA Legends forums and watched TV. At 7 PM, I went to the mall for a movie night with some of my best friends. We all met up at the crappy dollar theatre to watch Casino Royale. The movie was ok, but hella hard to follow. The movie really didn't matter, especially since we spent the whole time goofing off and throwing popcorn in front of the projector (FUNFUNFUNFUN).
Anyway, that was my weekend in a nutshell. I hope all of you had a better one than me. Before I go, I'd like some feedback on my banner, header, sig, etc. What should I change? Keep the same?
Later,

Sorry about my lack of activity here on GameSpot, everyone. With school and my DJ aspirations, I've been finding myself with less available time to be spending on the boards or writing blog entries. From 6 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon, I'm in school. As soon as I get home, I am either practicing my mixing or doing homework. I AM NOT LEAVING GAMESPOT, I'm just saying that since my life has been very busy, I won't be able to be as active as much as I was during the summer. Remember, I'd be happy to hear from all of you either by my normal email (in profile) or through MSN Messenger (raeget@hotmail.com).
See you all soon,

Level 10, the moment I have been waiting for, finally came to me yesterday. I now have the totally awesome privilage to be able to upload videos. Once I saw my level, I immediately got started on uploading. My first two are of a series. It's the movie that comes with the special edition of San Andreas. It's about 20 minutes long, so that's why it's in two parts. I've had nothing but positive feedback so far. Part 1 got around 100 views in less than an hour (I think), and is about the 60th most popular video on GameSpot. Pretty good for a first upload!- Posted Jul 27, 2006 6:50 am PT

Yes, after that short fiasco involving my parents, everything is slowing down and I'm back into GameSpot once again. I've been getting on alot more now and being very involved. Over at GTA Legends, I've been posting like crazy. It's great to be back!
Shoot me for saying this, but *hugz in a Platonic fashion!*
I'll guess now I can just fill you guys in on what's been going on. I'm going to skip all of the "my parents suck" drama and talk about what matters most: gaming. I've been getting alot more into consoles lately. I'll be finding myself running back and forth the stairs in our house. One minute I'll be on my computer, the next minute I'll be upstairs on the GameCube. You might be wonder what game is totally awesome that I have to play it so constantly. Well, I am actually doing nothing that I want to do. You see, I recently found my old copy of TLOZ: Collector's Edition disc that came with my GameCube when I bought it. It has most of the Zelda games on it, like the original and OoT. My sister has been playing this thing non-stop. At first it doesn't seem too bad. I love it when my she gets involed in games. It keeps her away from all the other crap she does. The only problem is that she totally sucks. This girl has no skills at all. For christsake, she calls occasionally because she can't remember how the Song of Time goes! Sometimes her complaints are reasonable. At the moment, she's stuck on the water temple level. Even though I gave her my own strategy guide to use, she insists to go in whatever order she wants and to totallt skip some major chests. I get stuck in the end backtracking the whole level just so she can get those things that she missed. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother...- Posted Jul 26, 2006 8:08 am PT

I'm guess that I'm most likely not the only person who's noticed, but I haven't been on much lately. I've been having alot of changes going on in my life and it seems like it's harder to stay on GameSpot then it used to be. Some of these changes are for the better and some seem to hindering me in whatever I do. It's a scary thought when you understand what's really going on.
You see, it all started when I came home from my friend's house after I had been sleeping over. As I was walking up to our door, I could immediately sense something was wrong. My mom came outside, covered my eyes, and tried to bring me up-stairs. Immediately, and I do mean immediately, I asked my mom if my computer was moved. No answer, not good. As she walks me up the steps, I begin to think the worst. When I get up to my room, everything is different. My bed is gone with anew one in it's place. My furniture was moved around. My computer was out of my room. Profanity ensues. I begin to ask my mom what I did wrong to have it taken out. She replies with the general, "It's not a punishment" crap. They took it out because "there was no room to keep it in becuase of my new bed." BS. There was a huge, bare corner that the desk would fit perfectly into. I didn't believe any of it. It all happened so fast. I nearly lost my concentration just trying to catch up with the conversation. I leave the house with my computer, I come back to this corner.
Anyway, it's not totally gone. They moved it downstairs near where we keep our dogs. It's alot less convenient to even get on. Considering I'm so lazy, that's a big deal. To be honest one of the biggest reasons that I'm a PC Gamer is because my computer was so accessible. For example, after the PC was moved, we went and bought me a new TV. I was able to set up the TV and my consoles in such a way that I could start playing a game in about as much time as my computer took. I hate to say it, but that matters to me. Now I know that I'll never quit the computer. I'd love to say that I'd never quit GameSpot as well. I honest-to-god love this site and don't want to leave it, but unless I don't have a good enough motivation to keep me going. I'm afraid I might quit. That's what happened with my ump-teenth other blogs: something happened in my life, things changed and I got bored. Please, tell me that you guys are here. This is the best community I've ever been in. I never been as involved in anything as much as I have here. Hell, I lead a union for christsake! Just show me that I'm welcome and wanted. I know it seems like I'm overreacting, but I'm serious. Please try and keep me here. I'm "campaigning" against my Fascist father, who is always the root of messes such as this, to get my PC back in my room. I know I can get it back eventually. I've done this exact same thing before and I can do it again. I just hope that I don't quit GS before it happens.
See you around,
Raeget

Yes! The union has been completed! All of our charter members joined and I have avoided GlitchSpot once again! Muwahahaha!
Ok, I guess I should settle down now. If can't already figure it out, the EDMU is now up and running. We have very few members, but everyone is very smart and knows their stuff. So far, I've been working on making the union look appealing. If you look at the front page, you can see how it looks so far. Everything is just going along so smoothly. I don't think that I could've asked for a better situation to start this in.
Thanks to everyone who helped!- Posted Jul 15, 2006 7:53 am PT

Ok, most of you probably know that I absolutely love the movie Kill Bill Vol. 1. In my opinion, it's the best movie that I've ever seen in my life. It was much more than a movie, it was an experience. Well, I decided to rent the sequel yesterday. I do have admit, it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. There was way too much dialogue and it moved very slowly, but once I got to the bloody, action sequences, I forgot all about that. I can still see that image of The Bride ripping out Elle Driver's eyeball, and her last eyeball at that. In the end, if you can get over the slow parts, you'll find yourself enjoying an action film worthy of the first.
While I was at the rental store, I also picked up Soul Calibur 3. I have been waiting for this game for at nearly a year. They've always been out every single time I go there.Well, they finally had it and I quickly grabbed it for myself. All I've been doing today is playing that damn game. It's actually quite addictive if you play it with an open mind. The character creation mode is quite functional once you unlock more items and is a great addition to the franchise. They've also added this thing called Chronicles of the Blade, which is a strategy-based story mode. You start out with a certain number of fighters on a large map with connected with waypoints. You move your characters around and capture strongholds until you get to your enemy's fortress. This was a surprisingly fun mode to play. I've actually been playing that more then the actual story mode. Anyway, if you liked the Soul Calibur 2, you will love this game. There's enough new content here to keep you occupied for a long time.
I've also got some news on the union that Purple_Beard and I are working on. The recruitment phase has gone quite well and we've found some good people. Everyone seems to know their stuff pretty well, so we should have some success in the leadership department. If you haven't already seen, I made a union banner as well. It's pretty plain but I was thinking of some ways top change it. My idea is to have monthly poll where everyone will vote for their favorite DJ. The winner will have their picture featured on the banner. That way, we'll have a dynamic homepage instead of keeping the same banner for months. Anyway, if you know people who are fans of this style of music, send them my way. Also, just in case you're wondering, CRAZY FROG AND THE HAMPSTERDANCE DO NOT COUNT!!!
Edit: I was bored today, so I quickly whipped up some news headers for the union. These will be on the top of every news story that will go on the frontpage. When an officer submits news that is under his/her designated genre, they'll have to put this ont he top to say what kind of news it is. They don't do much, but they make it look cool. Here's a sample of one of them:
