Top 5 Changes
Yesterday, September 30th, I participated in 'Gone Dark'. So here are the top 5 changes I would like to see:
- No more whiteness. There is too much white, and the white and blue combination looks tacky.
- A proper comments section, with working smileys and when you press enter, paragraphs form! Also, proper HTML codes. What happened to the bold and italics codes?
- The return of lost embelms. Especially the editor ones. I, like many people, collected them and were proud of them because they've showed what we have achieved to help build TV.com.
- More friends blogs listed. 4 isn't enough.
- Return of the progress bar. What was wrong with it?

Trivium: Shogun - An album review.

This is Trivium's fourth album, and it doesn't disappoint. As you can see from the album cover, there is a heavy Japanese element to it. I wasn't terribly excited by it when I first heard of the theme, but they've managed to pull it off! Matt Heafy, lead singer of the band is part Japanese, so that is where the Japanese element comes into it. This album is also considerably different from previous albums, which is definitely not a bad thing. Track listing below:- "Kirisute Gomen"
- "Torn Between Scylla and Charybdis"
- "Down from the Sky "
- "Into the Mouth of Hell We March"
- "Throes of Perdition"
- "Insurrection"
- "The Calamity"
- "He Who Spawned the Furies"
- "Of Prometheus and the Crucifix"
- "Like Callisto to a Star in Heaven"
- "Shogun"
Down From The Sky is the first video from this album, and its an awesome song. You can check out their MySpace for more songs off the album. Overall, this album is definitely 10/10. Let me know what you think
And I have to say - Travis Smith - Proving Mohawks are SEXY

STARGATE ATLANTIS - 5.10 - FIRST CONTACT (PART 1)
WOW! That's all I can say. We have Daniel. We have a super awesome enemy who have awesome shields and who can cut through floors in Atlantis, saving the trouble of walking down stairs, and we have a device capable of destroying the Wraith, but at a price. Put all three in the one episode and we have the best episode of season five so far. I love the mystery... Who are these people, who have Ancient technology, but aren't the 'conventional' Ancients we're used to. They knew of the secret lab because of a device, but how did they get it? What is their connection? Also, I love that Todd thougth that Atlantis was behind the destruction of the Wraith ships. It shows how unpredictable and paranoid the Wraith really are. But, like always, I'm just glad they didn't kill Todd off. I can't wait for part two. Of course Sheppard made it out alive, and I'm hoping Zelenka did too, but does this mean Atlantis no longer have a Stargate?
10/10--
HEROES - 3.01 & 3.02 - THE SECOND COMING & THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT
Meh. So we find out that Claire can't die, even by Sylar's hand. So why was it that in the alternate universe in season one, Claire died (or so we were told) and Sylar ruled the world? Not making sense.
Surersh and his new ability. Meh. I can't wait to see what he actually morphs into though. That looks somewhat interesting.
However, the idea of giving people the change to gain an ability mirrors The 4400 too much for my liking.
The one cool part of the episode was when Hiro travelled to the future to see what it was like with the formula out of their hands, and Ando kills him. That was cool.
And why can't they keep characters out of places they don't belong. Now we have to put up with Matt hallucinating his way through the third season and talking to turtles?!
Future Peter screwing things up majorly is a good idea. This way we get to see two timelines, what 'should' have happened, and how much worse off it is now after Nathan's 'death'. Makes for lots of time travel and lots of cool plot twists.
Overall, 8/10.

MY NAME IS EARL - 4.01 & 4.02 - THE MAGIC HOUR & MONKEYS TAKE A BATH
The first episode was rather average. It was good to see Randy dominate in this episode as opposed to being the annoying dumb person they always make him out to be. And Seth Green... Can't go wrong with Seth Green!
I found part two so much better. Any episode which has Beau Bridges in it is a fantatic episode, and this one doesn't disappoint. The best part of the episode was Earl's dad screaming "I need to get laid!", and Earl vomiting at the thought
Overall, 9/10

SUPERNATURAL - 4.02 - ARE YOU THERE GOD? ITS ME, DEAN WINCHESTER
Another awesome episode. We see the ghosts from the guy's pasts haunt them for not saving them. It was a definte cool idea, but the best part of the episode was finding out that Lillith was behind it. I'm excited at the prospect of possibly seeing the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse! We learned in this epiosde that there is God, and there is Lucifer. I still don't know whether Dean should trust Casstiel. But I am hoping for this massive war between good and evil, Sam vs. Dean. Awesomeness!
9/10

There was so much more we watched, I just can't be bothered reviewing them all. House was good, but needs more Wilson. Terminator was considerably better than last week's, although killing Charley's wife was just a way for him to join their resistance. But it also showed what lengths Cromartie will go to get John.

Here are some more pictures of James. Three weeks old now
. His rash is almost gone, and he's doing really well. This picture was taken about 9 hours after being awake, during bath time. He's so cute!!

And a final note, I will be participating in 'Gone Dark'. Therefore, I will not be on TV.com tomorrow, 30th September. I'll return on October 1st listing my changes for TV.com- Posted Sep 29, 2008 6:19 am PT

Wow! A New Blog!
Who woulda thought? One day, last week, we would lose our beloved corner and get blinded by the whiteness of this new site? White... IT BURNS!! I'M MELTING!! *HISS*
Anyways... Here's what I like about the new site:
- The main page is all Aussied up. I no longer get subjected to spoilers for shows I haven't watched yet. However, I don't care for any of the shows listed in the feature.
- The avatar/profile header can be made bigger!!
Here's what I don't like:
- The blinding whiteness!
- The lack of smileys or paragraphs in comments
- The CONSTANT glitches. Every time I post a comment, the date says "1/1/1970", and they keep telling me I have a new PM when I don't.
- The lack of embelems. I want my crown dammit!
- The missing progress bar. I loved that little bar, and now its gone!
The only thing that really annoys me is the lack of embelms. They were my achievements, and they're gone

Other than that, its meh. I prefer the old one, but this isn't enough to make me leave. Anyways, what are you guys gonna do without me?

STARGATE ATLANTIS - 4.09 - TRACKER
Meh.
I liked the idea of another Runner. I liked the Runner storyline. I don't like the Ronon/Rodney/Keller love triangle they have going. Rodney was going to propose to Katie last season and now ther're not together. I hate that! They were so cute together! But, I want to see Rodney and Ronon fight to the death for Keller. That would be funny

Until then, I don't want to see anything related to Rodney and Ronon trying to compete to impress Keller. Because I just know that Sheppard will get in there first

TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES - 2.02 - AUTOMATIC FOR THE PEOPLE
Meh.
People were right when they said this episode didn't match the calibre of the first episode. I just want to see more of that superb!tch

Although, the story surrounding Greenway was good. I still don't know whether John should trust Cameron.

SUPERNATURAL - 4.01 - LAZARUS RISING

Its baaaaaack! And in pure awesomeness! I wasn't expecting to see Dean for a while. Well, I wasn't expecting to see Dean out of hell so soon. I was expecting three or four episodes of torture in hell. But hey, I can't complain. We got to see just how Dean's death affected Sam and Bobby, and the part with Bobby thinking Dean was a demon and attacking him, it was well done!
So, we learned that Sam is keeping secrets from Dean, and Dean is keeping secrets from Sam. Sam's ability to rid of demons withouth the need to kill the host is awesome. Ruby's return was good, but the other actress was better. She had the "I'm a demon and I'm not gonna take anything from anyone" look and attitude, whereas this new girl seems too sweet and innocent.
But, to the main point of the episode. Is Casstiel good or evil? He has that evil vibe to him. But he could be good. Who knows. I think there may be some evilness to him. But I guess they wouldn't go towards the good side, since it'll anger some religious fanatics. We'll just have to wait and see how it goes. But I can just see this massive war at the end of the season - Good vs. evil; Dean vs. Sam.

HOUSE - 5.01 - DYING CHANGES EVERYTHING
Pretty good episode. House is still a bastard and Wilson can't handle it. I'm actually glad we got to see Wilson struggle with Amber's death and not being able to stand House. But when Wilson said he never considered House a friend, I was surprised. More like "NO! How can you say that?!" I love Wilson, and the fact he actually left, I'm not liking it. House better be able to find a way to bring him back!
Other than that, the story was rather average. An ectopic pregnancy was interesting, but other than that... Meh. Give us more lupus!!

News on work - I'm asking for the saturday on my working weekend off. I did NO homework at all this past weekend, and Glenn can't handle not seeing me at all on the weekend, which I understand, because I can't handle not seeing him. But with Uni ending in a little under 2 months, I can't not be doing homework every day. Its just too close to exams, and when grades count to do Honours, I can't sacrifice time.
Which reminds me, I have 4 Honours projects picked. One is about Malaria, one is about a cancer gene, one is about the pharmaceuticals of diabetes and the other is a chicken bacteria. I'm thinking about the chicken one, because its outside the Uni, but the malaria one lists the techniques I will be using, and the pharmaceuticals one is more close to what I want to do when I finish studying. I still have to read up on the projects, but I'll let you know which one I eventually pick.
