So it's been a long year, even though it's been no longer than normal. Along the way some really great games have come out, so here are my very favorites.

StarCraft 2 Wings of Liberty: This came out in late July, and while at times I find it especially frustrating, especially getting the achievements. Some missions are even so hard they put some of Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne's missions to shame.

I guess blizzard will be blizzard though!

Civilization V

I'm new to this series to be honest, while Civ 5 wasn't the game that broke me in. (It was Civ Revolution on the PS3.) I didn't care much for how the games were short and went pretty fast paced. Obviously because the PS3 can't hold that much memory. So I dived in to Civ 5 once it came out and loved it, and to tell you the truth I usually find turn based games just plain boring. However, Civ 5 is pretty good at keeping you entertained.

So here is one of my most recent favorites that have been released.

Released in November of 2010 I have to give Assassin's Creed Brotherhood some recognition! While I haven't finished it yet or found it as enjoyable as Assassin's Creed 2 due to some annoying and frustrating issues with lazy design. I loved the setting of Italy and Ezio's character so much I was throwing a party when I got this game. It's great fun as well even though at times it seems a lot of code copy and pasting was done to make this game.

Released at the end of August 2010, Metroid: Other M is one short Metroid game, one different Metroid game, and one very good Metroid game. Haven't finished it yet but I'm getting close. Even so that is a good thing because it's one I guess I don't really want to end that quick.

I can't describe the many of hours of pure enjoyment I got from playing this game, and I really was disappointed when it came to an end. I wanted more and can't wait for number 3 to come along. This game looks great, plays great, and it even smells great! (Ok maybe it doesn't smell great, unless you count that new game smell that you sometimes get from the inside of the case the first day you get it.) If you haven't played this game, all I have to say is shame on you!
