So I've recently finished FF10 which concludes my ambition to finish all of the FF games I never had the patience to finish.
I will as I'm doing this award certain FF games with these four- my favorite storyline, favorite battle system, and favorite FF game overall, my favorite FF game.
So let me start with 7 then! (Favorite Battle system)
Ah Final Fantasy 7, one of the best FFs if not the best! The story is very great but I found it a little bit strange. In fact I think it's the strangest storyline in all of the series. Mostly because of the whole cloning thing with Cloud. Well anyway I find that this was probably the game that had the best battle system because it presented challenge without being too overcomplicated. Oh and who doesn't love Sephiroth as the villain? Seven is probably one of the biggest influences on rpgs ever made and I wonder if Final Fantasy will ever have a game this good in it's series again.
This brings me to FF8 (My favorite FF storyline I might add!)
Ok so it's lvling and battle system is too complex, this I understand. However, I've always felt that the mysterious storyline made up for this despite the frustration from lvling and battling. No great villains here but final boss fights are pretty intense. Of course not as intense as the secret boss Omega-Weapon, if anyone beat that bad-ass let me know because that thing is ridiculous. Anyway Squall great hero though, my very favorite some of you might know from my favorite game characters blog. Otherwise I have not much more to say about FF8.
Alright so FF9! (Favorite FF game overall right here!)
The battle system in this game is very simple but very good. Abilities do respectively what they should, none of this, "This is the strongest spell/ability in the game and you just did 50 damage with it, you fail!" Nothing gets me more annoyed in FF games than abilities that doesn't do the amount of damage it really should. Even worse when the summons are useless (You know who you are FF12, you god awful train wreck!) The storyline is a little lacking but there is a pretty good one non the less!
Lastly numbah 10
FF10 is the last FF game made by Squaresoft, and probably one of the last very good ones. Twelve was terrible and I don't have a clue about 13 because I've still yet to play much of it. This is also the first FF to have voice overs which in my opinion was a bit half and half. Some of the voice over was good and some was terribly corny. Twelve though was all terrible throughout though. I'm truly hoping we get more FF games like these ones but we will see I suppose.
anyway thanks for reading and happy thanksgiving!
oh and my favorite FF game: Final Fantasy 8
