GiantBomb.com is up and running. I've made my account. I'm still messing with it and I've yet to find a good avatar to use.
So I'll see you guys around.
Oh, that big announcement I had today is going to have to wait.
I'm leaving GameSpot. GiantBomb.com full launches next week and I'm switching over. Why? Because I like Jeff, Ryan, Vinny, and Brad enough that I'll make a full switch to another website.
My final blog will be on Monday. There I'll have an even bigger announcement and links to my new profile here in case you want to stay in touch.
In the meantime please do yourself a favor and watch the Watchmen Trailer. It's amazing. In fact it was just as amazing at The Dark Knight was.
Microsoft Press Conference favorite announcement: Banjo-Kazooie is coming to the Xbox Live Arcade this fall alongside the release of my most anticipated game this year, Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts. ![]()
I'll also have a huge announcement this Friday, so stay tuned for that I guess.
I don't know if any of you have ever been to a Chuck E. Cheese or not but they have some of the best pizza you'll eat. They also have a band there composed of the various characters in the Chuck E. Cheese universe. I remember going up on stage when I was a young child. looking behind the curtain where the animatronic characters lie, and being horrified at what I saw.
What am I getting at you ask? Well every time I play Guitar Hero 3 I am reminded constantly of the Chuck E. Cheese band. Particularly the drummer. The drummer in GH3 is the embodiment of that chef drummer at Chuck E. Cheese. The drummer animations in GH3 are terrible. No effort at all went them and he comes off looking like the drummer at Chuck E. Cheese.
So yeah, my brother decided to get Guitar Hero 3 instead of Ninja Gaiden 2. Not a bad choice since I've been playing it constantly. It's one of the hardest games I've played but that's the appeal of it to me.
In addition to GH3 I'm also getting an old classic PC game tomorrow. Many of you don't know this but I'm a HUGE Alien fan. When I mean Alien I mean the films. I love them and the old classic PC game i'm referring to is called Aliens Versus Predator 2. About 4 years ago a friend of mine let me borrow it and I fell in love with the game. Until yesterday I hadn't really though about playing it again. I found a brand new copy of it (factory sealed) on Amazon.com for $10 and tomorrow I'm going to order it.The company also gives a free upgrade to First CIass shipping upon ordering. So I should have it in 1 or 2 days.
I can't wait to play it all over again.
So it turns out that the website that we purchased Mario Kart Wii from has ripped us off. They never shipped the game but they claimed they did and they just took our money. But since we purchased the game from the website through Amazon.com we'll be able to get our money back.
And since Mario Kart Wii is impossible to find and is going for upwards of $100 used on eBay and Amazon.com my brother is just going to use the money and buy Ninja Gaiden 2 instead. Which after playing the demo I don't think it's a bad decision.
I've been having some trouble getting my hands on a copy of Mario Kart Wii. I'm talking major trouble. This game is harder to locate than the Holy Grail. All of my local stores have been sold out of it for the past month. I had almost given up hope of ever getting the game.
I called today to a couple of GameStops near me and all of them were sold out and told me they wouldn't get any more in until mid June. I called my local Wal-Mart and K-Mart and they told me the same thing. I had no idea this game was so popular....
But my dad got paid today and he was going to let my brother and I purchase the game online since we were having so much trouble locating it in a store. I go to GameStop.com ,that as of yesterday was in stock on, and to much to my dissmay they are backorded. I then to go Walmart.com and the game isn't even listed on their website anymore. Kmart.com was my next stop and they also were our of stock. Bestbuy.com gave me the same results. So on to Amazon.com I went and they too were out of stock...............I was beging to think that this game and I were just not meant to be. But then I clicked a link on Amazon to their lists of new and used copies of the game and most of them were sold out as well. But I came to a listing that was brand new and was in stock. THANK GOD!
So I ended up buying the game. It ships tomorrow (June 2nd) and should arrive sometime between June 5th through the 10th. So I should have the game in my hands by this weekend and I'll be tearing it up online since the online actually works (unlike Brawl).
There you have it, the terrible tale of how I managed to get Mario Kart Wii. I seriously hope the trouble was really worth it.....
