  First Blog

  Well I finally decided to write a blog for my gs accout, my first blog ever tbh and I decided to dedicate my first post to anime.

  Ever since I have been a kid I have alwast been interested In anime. My first anime was Robotech ( I know it's an adaptation of the anime Macross but I still count it as an anime ) and I liked it because it was so different/more mature then the other cartoons that you could watch at the time (bikemice from Mars, Transformers, Gargoyls etc) But I didnt become a real anime fan untill many years later and during the first 15 years of my life the only anime I watched was Robotech, Moldiver, Geist and the movie Venus wars. And I watched all of them on the tv( Sci-fi cannel).

  Well I became a "real" anime fan when I discovered the sharing program Direct Connect and the anime hub pyrs anime hub (atleast that is what I think it was called :S ) and the anime Love Hina. The following year was IMO the best anime year of my life. With series like Noir, Flame of Recca, Star Ocean EX every new serie i discovered was a new exciting experience.Of course the year that followd was great to but now every new serie had things incommon with series I had already seen.

  Now almost 4 years after I first watched those crappy fansubs of Love Hina anime has truly hit an all time low. I dont know if It has anything to do with me "growing up" atleast I dont think so. The few great series there have aird during this fall was as great if not greater then how I fealt towoards Love Hina or Neon genesis evangelion. Lets look at some of the "high lights" of the past year.

  Trinity blood was the first in a long row of dissepointing animes. Not only didnt it bring anything new it also copyed almost everything from an older and much better serie named Trigun.

  It would take to long to name all the "bad" series so instead im going to name the few that reallty made me happy to be an anime fan.

  The best one was without a doubt Eureka SeveN. It took and old genre ( mechs or Robots ) and made it interesting and not by using cool loking mechs but by using great characters. Every character fits prefectly and alot of them make me laugh.

  Mahoroba was a new (atleast to me) take at the harem ( one male and alot of females ) genre, the main character is trying to become a picture book author. Its a really sweet/cute story that has alot of episodes that make you feel all fussy inside.

  Full Metal Panic TSR was surprisingly good even thou that was to be expected. The first came out along time ago and was during its time one of the best animes ever, after the Second season which consantrated on being a comedy (in which it succeeded) the third season returned to its roots with a serious season and Im really glad they made that decision.

  Dokuro-Chan is a serie thats best described as a serie that make fun of every fanservice serie/ H game out there. A reallty funny show.

  Appart from the great and bad ones there were a bunch of mediocre series like Beet The Vandel Buster, Izumo, Samurai 7 etc.

  It really sadens me that aime has gone from an entertainmant medium that deliverd everything from serious series like Noir and Evangelion to stupid/funny series like Tenchi muyo and Love Hina to what it is today. Where almost every serie is either a pathetic fanservice serie or a brainless action serie (with a few excetions). I know it doesnt have anything with me groing up because when I watch my older DVDs they are as good as they were 4 years a go. Well all I can hope for is that the trend changes because great series are becoming fewer and farther between...

  Ok the post turned out to be a bit longer then I expected and Im sure there are alot of spelling errors but the clock just turned 4 AM and im to tired to care right now. Well untill nexttime.
