    Big Trouble

Yep, I'm in BIG Trouble. Final Fantasy XI, Guild Wars, and now Neverwinter Nights 2 and Final Fantasy XII. Good thing I just finished Okami, but still, I'm not going to have enough hours in a day to playing everything I've got currently going. Designing and building scenarios in NWN2, actively playing FFXII and GW, and even just maintenance for my characters in FFXI... I think I'm going to have to quit my day job, and I can live off of bird seed -- big 20# bags sell for about $25-30, and it makes great diet food. Hmmm! Nah that won't work. What's going to pay the mortgage and how will I pay for of the other stuff coming out? Rogue Galaxy, Spore, PS3, DS:Throne, and everything else on my wish list. Don't sleep? Nah, already do that. Clone myself? Nope, both of me will want to play the same games. Parallel dimensions? Same problem. I know! They need to extended the number of hours in a day from 24 to 36. Who do I talk to about that?

Oh well, I have to think about this some more -- oh wait, no time to think. 'Til next time -- beside myself on how I can splinter time...

    a World of Difference

Okay, Square-Enix was spoiling the XBox360 Beta testers. The drop rate from monsters on Hydra (beta world) were tweaked a little higher than here on Phoenix, my new home-world. Most monsters dropped something by a rate of 50% to 70% of the time. Now on Phoenix, I go on stretches killing about 10 crawlers to get a Smooth Stone and one Calculus. And talk about fussy, the In A Pickle quest is now on the six Smooth Stone and still not heavy enough. (Hopefully she won't say ...'this ones too heavy, try again'. (The meteorite is going to be hell ... on Hydra it took three weeks real time, and who knows how many crawlers to get ... 300 might be a good guess.)

And my reputation is going up slower. I've complete about 10 of the initial quests and my reputation (not rank) is still only on level 2 ... He's heard the name, 'No that was someone else...'

On the plus side (with caveat) there is practically no fighting over monsters. During the beta, all the XBox 360 testers were crammed into Hydra. Throngs of people standing around the AHs, sometimes 30+ people hanging out in each dungeon, Outer H Ruins and Giddeus good examples. Even the outpost in West Sarutabaruta usually had 10 people camped out in front. Now on Phoenix, I can go in a dungeon and there might be 3 to 5 other people there, and hardly anyone around the outpost. The caveat is usually there were other people to cover for you, if you get jumped by monsters. Now, it took my lev 7 RDM about an hour to fight my way to the Cat Burgular's lair in the H Ruins. It was going to take me another hour to fight my way back out. But lucky for me, I leveled up on the trip down and someone was in the area that took out the Balloon that jumped me and cut a path for me back out.

And talking about the AH, prices are crazy. 1000+ gil for A Wild Onion? On Hydra, they were going for about 200 gil. You can diffenately make some serious money if you keep abreast to what sells. On Hydra, with so many people, things would sit for a week and not sell. On Phoenix, Wild Onions will sell in a hour. If something doesn't sell, even though the quantity is 0, that's because no one is buying, period. (1000 for bronze leggings and 12000 for 12 Moat Crap, sheeze!) Flip side, something you might want or need, is either not available or sells at a pretty penny ... 5000g for a Barstone scroll (bonk!). I have a feeling a Power Bow is either going to require that I travel to San d'Oria or make it myself.

Oh well, still in bliss, 'til next time. 'What was that? Oh, that's the sound of silence.'

    The Wayward Traveller

Well with the whinding down of FFXI 360 Beta, I'm seeing fewer and fewer people hanging around the places I frequent. (It's making me sad.) I'm still working on leveling my BLM skills to 17, for Warp capability ... it will make Mission 2-2 easier to complete ... reduce the commute time.

I'm migrating my character to Phoenix.  I was trying to figure out if there is any difference to the servers (locations, number of users on each, etc.).  Can't find anything informative.  I was also hoping to find out which server is local to the West coast (California).

Popped the seal on Oblivion this weekend. Beautiful game. (The original reason I wanted an XBox 360.). And I discovered I've gotten out of the habit of saving. After exiting the sewers and heading overland towards my first mission objective, I happen upon a Fort (name?). Looked abandoned, I'll just poke around and see what's here... Almost died twice from two imps. (Never did discover if the Fort was abandoned.) Okay... let's get going to the first object. Then I happened upon a cave entrance and got miffed by a goblin throwing fireballs. And no, I had not remembered to save in all that time. Back to the sewer exit, where I got hit the second time around by a crab and got diseased. So I had to dump a bunch of my stuff collected. Arggg... I think I'm going to have to start again ... after finishing the FFXI Beta and maybe after trying out WOW.

Oh well, back to FFXI. Problem with Oblivion ... you can't just lie down and watch the clouds roll by. Bye.
