If their is any others you want to mention be my guest.
I have finally completed oblivion so I have decided to play some older games which i have borrowed off friends.
Legend of Zelda : Majoras mask (N64) : Good game so far but very confusing.
Legend of Zelda : Orcarina of Time (N64) : havent had a chance to play it yet but have played it several times before (It was great back then so it should be great now)
Final Fantasy VI (PSone) : BRILLIANT!!! One of the better FF with a great story, characters and villian (kefka)
I am also playing resistance alot more online.
I also should be getting a job soon so here are the games I plan to buy before the end of October
- Warhawk
- Ratchet and Clank Future
- Pro evolution soccer 2008
I downloaded Heavenly Sword a couple of days ago and although very short, shows enough gameplay to make me want to play this more.
The demo starts off with nariko and her half sister Kai upon a cliff staring down at the invading armies fortress. The facial animation in this game is the best I have ever seen in a game period, better than Mass Effect. The graphics are also stunning even on my SD LCD TV. You start off with a interactive button press combo while running down a rope towards your enemies. Once your their you will begin combat. Those who think that this game is just a GOW clone then you are in for a surprise. The combat consists of 3 different styles spee, range(L1) and power (R1) each of these three stances has their own set of combos and moves, however HS usees a counter/blocking system that makes you use different styles to block and counter certain moves. The range style might not allow Nariko to block but she can perform aerail combos by thrusting enemies into the air andthrusting the sixAxis upwards to allow aerial combos where you can string combinations together. If you counter moves and perform combos and aerial combos your special meter increases. The special meter has three levels of special moves ranging from kill one character to legions of characters. It is safe to say that the combat is far better than i imagined and could well be as good as if not better than many of the top action games. The combat is more like NG and DMC than the rather button mashy GOW but you can still button mash if you desire.
The next part of the stage sees you falling of the pillar into the fortress surrounded by more enemies. This time though you can use the environment to the advantage. You can lift enemy pojectiles and your surroundings and throw them at enemies using an aftertouch controlled with the SixAxis. The best use of this so far is using an enemy shield to rebound of walls and enemies to rack up a combo. This feature is very well implemented and is so far the best use of sixaxis control.
Overall the demo was short and sweet and could definetly be one of the biggest and best games coming to PS3 this year.
After E3 i had given in and bought a PS3 heres my first impressions.
The console itself is by far the best looking console i Have ever had, it is really heavy which means I cant keep travelling to my friends house with it.
Signing on to the PSN was easy enough but I am still having roblems with my Wi-Fi, every time i Sign and the connection always breaks off either really quick or in between an hour of me signing in. Also sometimes it does not let me sign on because it says tht the NAT type has failed. If anyone knows how to fix this problem it would help a lot.
OK now onto the games, I got Motorstorm and resistance with the console and they are both really great. Motorstorm exceeds my expectations both graphically and gameplay wise. the Controls are precie and the races are always intense and their seemed to be no slowdown when online. At first Resistance wasa dissapointed as it was not that graphically impressive and it seemed like a generic FPS. But after playing for a few hours though I realised how technically brilliant it was with all the action happennig on screen and all of the great environmental effects, I also really like the weapons design.
I also downloaded 3 playable demos, The Darkness, Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Virtua Tennis 3. The darkness was not that good with it being to easy due to the powers and a poor aiming system. NGS was absolutey great, brilliant fast paced and challenging combat system with enough powers and weapons to keep it fresh and new, should be picking it up soon enough. VT3 was great graphically and the gameplay was well balanced but i Dont think I will buy it as their is 2 many new good games comng out to soon to make this a great purchase.
Wel thats all for now, until then back to Resistance.
