Well its getting to that time of year again so yea time to make my christmas list tell me what you all think of it. You guys may remember my last christmas list and yes it was wayyyyy to much so i shortened this one so some games might not be on here including one bigge R&C A Crack in Time even thru i REALLY want this i still havent gotten QfB so ill wait and i probably still wont get all my games on this list lol so without further ado lets begin

    1. Assassins Creed 2

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/956856_118381.jpg

This was actually my most anticpated game of the year so yea im DEFINATLY getting this game cause i LOVED the first one if the second one is as good as the first then this will definatly jump in my top ten favorite franchises you all know what number 1 is(hint its MGS) and this game has similarties to the series. A GREAT storyline and stealth and action gameplay. So yea I WILL GET THIS GAME

    2. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/955125_138915.jpg

Do i really even have to explain myself. Its the game to have the most perfect scores on megacritic i heard it has a very cinematic campaign ten times better then the original and the original was quite good it feels just like a movie except your playing it. Also it has great multiplayer

    3. Lost Odyssey

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/928334_67393.jpg

Okay the reason why this game is on my list is because ive been holding out on this game for FAR TOO LONG I will get this game for christmas i will!!!!!. I heard its the best RPG on the 360 and its lots of fun and is one great JRPG so i will get it ive been holding out on this game always saying ill get it next time but i never get it i will get it for Christmas(hopefully......... )

    4. Dragon Age Origins

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/950916_108167.jpg

Okay like Uncharted do i really even have to explain. Its a LONG JRPG ive heard with loads of sidquests and if u wanna get the full experience requires multiple playthroughs. Its made by Bioware the only company(besides blizzard with Diablo) that makes WRPG's that i actually like as much as JRPG so i have to get this game

And thats it im probably gonna ask for some new shoes cause im like a chick when it comes to shoes(i love shoes what can i say lol just look at Adrian Peterson im not the only one that likes shoes but im no where near as bad as him) so yea alot better then my last christmas list

Well sorry for not posting a blog in awhile i just simply havent had anything to talk about but now i do. I made it into the BF:BC2 beta thanks to gamespot and here are my impressions of the game

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/957917_119984.jpg

It plays like a traditional Battlefield company nothing has really changed but the destruction of the maps has upgraded much. You can blow up literally everything which creates a whole new strategy to multiplayer. The beta is only one map and mode i dont know what either is called but the mode im playing is similar to a search and destroy mission i guess. Ive only played one c-l-a-s-s i hate trying out other c-l-a-s-ss i only strive for the best and im always #1 i dont wanna try a c-l-a-s-s and not get #1 because of it lol) the only c-l-a-s-s ive tried is medic. Medic is always MY type of c-l-a-s-s for all FPS it makes me first place all the time. Im just really good at being a medic. My only complaint as of right now is..............the graphics

The graphics look plain ugly compared to other FPS's but maybe i shouldnt say anything this game is months from release so i bet they will improve on it but they better cause this game looks like BF2 and that game came out like 6 years ago lol. Either way who cares about the graphics the game is great and if u have the beta too come play with me sometime

i give the beta a 8 out of 10 Now to get back to playing!!!!

Well the past few years ive done fantasy football every year and loved it and before i started it was still a big football fan but fantasy made me more of a bigger fan cause now i pay attention to all the teams around the NFL not just the Philadelphia Eagles anymore

Well i like Basketball too and i was thinking about making a Fantasy Basketball League and i was wondering if anyone on gamespot would like to try it out with(you can join if u have played Fantasy Basketball too) Its gonna be a head-to-head scoring league cause that sounds more like Fantasy Football and i like it that way and well hey if we get a full league this could be very fun for all of us.

Hoping to organize a league by tonight so we can do a live draft but if you guys cant make it or i cant get a full league ill postpone it till i do get a full league. So if ur interested make a account on ESPN.com and PM me for more information!!!!

Well a return to my top ten lists. After seeing the fugly Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time Boxart i just knew i had to show you all what real box arts are supposed to look like. The rules for my list is only one game of a series can be featured for example the list cannot be dominated with MGS Box Arts, secondly these box arts only include the front not the back, thirdly the games don't even have to be good it could be the worst game of all time and still make it on the list if it has a great box art, and lastly they have to be awesome . Also hope you like the new trivia i added to the games, they will be in italics. So without futher interuptions lets begin.

Boxarts can define a game, boxarts can also destroy a game. Many gamers go to stores without researching what they are going to buy and just buy a game that looks cool to them while they are there. The box art helps them make the decision greatly a good boxart can help sales tremendously so in this list i will go through some of my favorite boxarts.

    10. Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/920077.jpg

Let me start off the list with a bang!!! The original Mercenaries was a very fun game that didn't take itself too serious(the sequel also does the same thing but in the sequel its just ridiculous) The boxart defined the game for what it was a very fun destruction filled mayhem game lol.

The game was originally banned in South Korea after government officials feared the game, which depicts a war with North Korea with South Korea as a participant, would further strain an already delicate situation between the two countries. However, the Korean Game Board announced that the ban would be lifted by the year 2007.

    9. Bloody Roar II

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/196789_50195.jpg

Bloody Roar II is another great boxart. The whole boxart defined the game. The lettering of the title showed it was bloody and the character on the cover showed it was gonna be cool and if you were smart you would figure out you could transform into a freaking animal. This is a great example of a great boxart cause I myself got this game based off the boxart and i have never regretted it

Jenny the sexed up character of the series is completely naked when she is in her beast form.

    8. X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/927390_66235.jpg

X-Men Legends II is a awesome boxart. The eyes of Apocalypse really drew you in and showing the brotherhood and the x-men together showed you could play both. Not to mention the characters on the cover look freaking awesome especially for Toad and Storm.

All versions of X-Men Legends II share the same basic cast of 20 mutants; however certain versions have exclusive playability for a few characters that the others don't have. The PSP release let's the player control Cable, Cannonball, Dark Phoenix and X-Man. the PC version allows play with Pyro and Sabretooth. The N-Gage version lets players play as Beast.

    7. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/933155_75753.jpg

Star Wars TFU is one great boxart. I really think this drew many kids too it. The whole entire boxart smells of epic. Even through the game itself was not that good and very glitchy. The Force Unleashed sold well thanks to the name and i truly believe the boxart.

James Earl Jones does not provide his voice talents for Darth Vader in the game. Instead the voice is provided by Matt Sloan (also known as Chad Vader) who depicts Vader's unknown brother that runs a supermarket called the Empire Market. His episodes run on YouTube.

    6. Wrath Unleashed

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/914875_52815.jpg

Wrath Unleashed is by far the worst game on my list but hey you gotta admit it has one awesome boxart. This game was a mix of a fighter and a RTS but it was horrible but thanks too a great box art it really drew my attention so i bought it one of the few purchases i regret lol.

The four elements of fire, wind, water, and darkness are the four factions in Wrath Unleashed

    5. Motorstorm

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/928393_67456.jpg

This is the best racer boxart thats for sure. It really showed the choas filled racing that was Motorstorm. The cars flipping the dirt all over the vehicles and the guy in the backround flipping off his motorcycle was defiantly the best racer boxart.

Motorstorm was the first PS3 game to sell over two million copies

    4. Jak 3

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/919901.jpg

The duo returns in Jak 3 with the best boxart in the series yet. Showed all the new gameplay mechanics like the wasteland also the horizon of Haven City looks great. The title looks amazing in that lettering especially with the star right next too it. Also did i mention Jak and Daxter look awesome and epic especially with Jak's Gun

This is the last game that Naughty Dog founders Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin worked on with the company they started.

    3. Resident Evil 4(Gamecube Version)

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/535840.jpg

The rebirth of the Resident Evil series came first on the gamecube and let me say the boxart was amazing. The return of Leon just looks awesome and the chainsaw guy really made the game look scary. Also the 4 just looks epic.

Krauser and HUNK's music that plays in The Mercenaries game mode is actually from the fellow capcom game P.N.03 the music from the 4th and 8th music, respectively

    2. God of War

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/919864_61710.jpg

God of War is a great boxart and really showed the brutalness of the game. The bloody chains of the olyumpus and bloody kratos really made Kratos look like the badass hero he was. I really believe the boxart made the game sell loads for all those gamers out there.

Kratos, the name of the game's main character, is Greek for strength or power.

Before i show you #1 here are the Honorable Mentions

    Honorable Mentions

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/928126_67138.jpghttp://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/924364_58450.jpghttp://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2001/ps2/metalgearsolid2/metalgearsolid2_boxshot.jpghttp://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/198115_49453.jpg

    Now onto #1

    1. Kingdom Hearts

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/bigboxshots/7/516587_50919_front.jpg

Kingdom Hearts is the greatest example of a great boxarts that draws adults and kids alike to the game. For the adult part the artwork although very cartonny has a mature sense to it also Riku and Sora also give the mature sense too. For the Kids freaking Goofy and Donald were on the front of the box and they had weapons. I can bet many moms and grandmas bought this game for their children or grandchildren and the kids were most likely happy.

The secret boss Kurt Zisa in the US version is named after the winner of a contest held by Squaresoft to promote the game.

Well there you have it my list of greatest boxarts what do you think about it and what do u think should have been added?

Well thats my blog for today

If you guys havent guessed it by now i have beaten not only one Ratchet & Clank game but TWO!!! So here i go with my impressions.

First off with the smaller one

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/932613_74951.jpg

This game was awesome for a PSP game it looked like just like the PS2 R&C games which was just awesome but i guess thats why the game was so SHORT. This game was actually quite hard compared to the others in the series(it wasnt hard just above average) But other then the short length this game was pretty good. Even without the second analog the camera was never a problem and the controls were great. The story was also pretty good probably could have been better if the game was a little longer but still had that Ratchet charm too it. Overall this was a great and was well worth the $10 price i paid for it but if i bought it as a full game waste of money.

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/932369_74248.jpg

First off let me say the guy who reviewed this game WAS dumb sorry gamespot i had to say it but this doesnt derserve the score it got at all. Sure it wasnt the best in the series(Going Commando still holds my favorite spot) but it sure didnt deserve a 7.5. First off let me tell you one thing that reviewer mentioned which was dead wrong he must have never played a Ratchet game before. He said the story was uninteresting. The story in the ratchet games was never supposed to be taken so serious but this game had the best story out of all the games very interesting even thru i didnt like the cliffhanger ending(i need to get quest for booty now lol). The shooting and weapons were amazing and i dont know what once again the reviewer was talking about Ratchet games are not supposed to be hard but this Ratchet and Clank i think was the hardest in the ratchet series so hey gamespot next time you review a Ratchet game make sure u got someone who played the series before review it. The clank missions are FINALLY fun to play(i have always hated them but in this one they were actually fun. The grind missions were finally given a revamp they were starting to get dull but this game added some much needed new things and added some cinematic flare to them too. Overall R&C is a great game and a must-buy if u have a PS3 i think

Well what do u think of my impressions now its on to daxter i guess

    Thats my blog for today.

Well if you havent figured out what this blog is about well its about Batman:AA and my impressions of it after beating it early this week

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/952338_110523.jpg

First off this game is the best superhero game EVER!!!! Usually Batman doesnt have a good reputation with video games(even movies before the dark knight all the batman movies sucked and you know it too) but Rocksteady Studios has ushered in a new age of batman.

When you were a kid(or in my case early teens) you probably watched Batman: The Animated Series on Cartoon Network and if you were like me you loved that show and watched almost every episode. Well let me tell you Batman:AA is just like the show but more dark. Every voiceover from the show first off is in Batman AA which includes the Dark Knight himself and brilliant Joker voice(voiced by Luke Skywalker i believe?) Trust me im not gonna lie some of the stuff in this game could belong in a M rated game. In the game you can collect audio logs of all the characters in this game and trust me all the villians have some VERY twisted tapes. The one that struck me the most was Zszash(i know spelled his name wrong) dude there are five audio logs and you can collect and each one of Zszash's got more and more dark and twisted. And the last audio log is a type of thing that belongs in a horror movie trust me if i was playing this game when i was younger i would have gotten a nightmare i know it lol

Thats the charm of Batman they didnt pull any strings they put the real feell of the Dark Knight and is a true and perfect representation of the Bat. Okay now what you all have been waiting for what i think about the game itself.

First off the combat is just plain awesome but a bit too easy. I played the game on Normal difficulty and once i got used to the combat it was pretty darn easy. But even thru it was easy it was so fun cause the combat flowed perfectly it really looked like something you would see in the movies or something just plain awesome. And also another part of the gameplay was the stealth parts. Batman isnt a stealth game like MGS its in a whole nother catagory. Becuase unlike MGS ur enemies know you there but dont know where so you are picking them off one by one and they are really getting scared like it would be if this was real. It really gives you the feeling that you really are Batman. Also the dectectie aspects i loved and Batman throws the riddlers riddles at you as basically a side quest. I got 85% of the riddles correct and i wasnt even meaning too go after them i just would spend awhile in one room till i actually found the riddle and it was fun and very awesome. But one complaint i have about the dectective mode is the detective vision. Dude detective vision is awesome im not saying its not but because of the riddles it makes you wanna play the whole game in the mode which really tones down the graphics a bit(dont get me wrong it still looks awesome but not as awesome as it is normally)

But overall Batman Arkham Asylum is simply awesome dont get me wrong im not a huge Batman fan i was only a small one before this but now it just made me a fan this game is a must-buy for anyone even if u dont like batman its simply awesome

So go out in buy the game(and if u have a PS3 i suggest buying it on that because of the exclusive DLC)

Well thats my blog for today!!

Okay yea Wedesday was my birthday but due to football practice didnt really celebrate it on that day but yesterday i did. The day started off with me and my parents going to denny was pretty dang good then they gave me money for gamestop and i took out my own money and then i left for gamestop and here were my purchases

You remember when i said i would only get one or two games well i got wayy more then that and dont expect me too get Uncharted at launch lol so heres what i got

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/927355_66184.jpg

Havent started it yet was going to start it yesterday but it didnt work had to go back to gamestop to trade it out for another one

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/932613_74951.jpg

Played alot of it today it really is pretty awesome dont use the wrench as much as i used to in the console versions(since the wrench throw is annoying to do) but other then that it really is the same as the console version which is awesome and come on it has PS2 graphics thats just awesome why doesnt the PSP sell well!!!!

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/932369_74248.jpg

Havent started it yet due to the last game i got hopefully ill get QfB after i beat this game

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/952338_110523.jpg

This game is simply AWESOME!!! Really to be honest i was always gonna get this game but thanks to the awesome demo(which every company should take notes off of that demo was so awesome) it made me buy the game. and i wasnt disappointed this game really makes you feel like you are Batman and Joker is just so awesome and glad they got all the voice actors from the cartoon. This game is definatly a contender for GOTY

Well what do u think about my purchases

First off i would like to announce that this is my 300th blog so hip hip hurrah to me lol. Sorry i havent gotten to make a blog in awhile football and school makes me very busy during the weekdays so even though i have been posting in all my unions and most of everyones blog i only did that so u guys knew i was alive lol sorry if i skipped some peoples blog So yea this is my 300th blog so hope you enjoy it

My first subject for this blog is My Upcoming Birthday

My Birthday will be this week on September 23rd i will be 18 just so you guys know i probably will make a birthday blog but im not celebrating till the weekend so ill make it then(once again football and school will take away more then half the day so me and my family decided to just celebrate it on the weekend ) I havent bought a game since i got my PSP back in June(yes i know its been QUITE awhile) sure some of my friends have let me borrow or gave me games but the most i have been doing is just replaying games. As u might know im not loaded and i really want a job but with football its almost impossible(plan on getting part time job after the season) ive been saving the little money i have for uncharted but i dont think i can wait that long so yea i might not get uncharted on release date but i will get it eventually. So here are some games i might get

    MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 2

    BATMAN ARKHAM ASYLUM

    INFAMOUS

    STREET FIGHTER IV

RATCHET AND CLANK FUTURE: TOOLS OF DESTRUCTION

    LOST ODYESSEY

    RED FACTION GUERILLA

NOTE: I WILL NOT BE GETTING ALL THESE GAMES!! I wish i could do that like some people lol i will probably get only one or two of these games dont know which ones im hight considering getting Batman since all the great stuff i heard and the demo was awesome also MUA2 because that game just looks awesome and even some Red Faction hmmmm choices choices what do u think of these games and which ones do u think i should get(SELECT ONLY UP TO THREE!!!)

Now onto the Game Informer KHIII cover story next month??

Have you gotten the new Game Informer in the mail yet or even bought one. Well on page 40-41 of the new magazine it talks about the big Game Informer redesign they been talking about since last year and its unveiling next month. and on that page it basically says the redesign is next month and the star of the show is............ and on the page it has a teaser image of next months magazine. Well i couldnt figure out what the game was and i looiked very hard. It looked like something u would see in therapy u know those ink drawings. But its actually Mickey Mouse Ears!!!!. Your wondering how i know well below the right ear camoflauge within the ears is a trademark symbol with the word disney right next too it!!!! Well after that i just added it all up Mickey Mouse Ears Disney it just had to be kingdom hearts. Why do i think its Kingdom Hearts III and not just another spin-off well GI really has never had a handheld game on their cover so yea. Now im psyched and cant wait till next month i know i could be wrong but what else could it be!!!! Even despite all the speculation and rumors of it being a Wii Exclusive i think it will be a PS3 exclusive or maybe 360 PS3 multi plat but im leaning towards more towards the PS3 exclusive because of this!!

Sony's TGS Line-up includes unannounced titles

I mean it is TGS and what could be a better place to announce a blockbuster JRPG. Well im looking forward to TGS this upcoming week and of course next months Game Informer

Now onto the final subject .hack

Well is started the .hack series again!!!

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2002/playstation2/dothack/d_box.jpghttp://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/04/25/582446.jpghttp://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/589681.jpghttp://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/589682.jpg

Yup i have always had this series and its pretty good with a great and confusing storyline but i have never beaten the whole series(probably why i think the storyline is confusing lol) the last time i played i got to Quarantine but the game is just the same throughout the whole series and very repetitive after awhile but a few days ago i was determined to finally finish this game to find out hte rest of the story. So far im on infection havent gotten repetitive yet(you first feel it a lttle near the end of mutation u then deal with it through outbreak and by quarantine u are sick of it lol) but i will finish this its a great series if you dont mind grinding like crazy lol i mean im all for a little grind but .hack just goes crazy with it!!!

Well thats my blog for today hope you enjoyed my 300th blog!!!!

  • 5Sep 09

Well if you have been to my profile lately you will notice it is a "bit" different. With the Greatest Hero Competition going around on gamespot i requested a whole new profile revamp to go for my favorite hero. So yea i hope my new profile swayed you to vote for the Worlds Greatest Hero So far in Round 1 i am 13/16 so im faring pretty well

Also on Gamespot heres my caption for this week Caption Contest this one was a bit hard couldnt think of ANYTHING

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2009/features/screenshots-with-captions/083109/screenshots0831_790screen011.jpg

"I should have stuck with Wii Bowling!!!"

Yea i know it kind of sucks but this weeks image was hard!!!! Also on gamespot a MGO game night will be this upcoming tuesday so i suggest to intend ill try to intend but with football no guarantees if i do intend expect me to be a bit late

    Now onto my next topic

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/939209_86922.jpg

My friend gave me this game(because he didnt like it at all lol) and i just now started playing it and as of right now i agree with most reviewers this game just comes down to a rock paper scissors mechanic and it doesnt have the depth as PC RTS's have but i have come to a different conclusion

This Voice Command System that EndWar has could revolutionize RTS gaming as we know it. If EndWar didnt have the rock paper scissors stuff then this without a doubt could have revolutionized console RTS's. The voice command system works PERFECTLY. Sure this game would become very complicating if they added more units and buildings like PC RTS's but if the developors somehow figured a way around this(which i know they can do) the voice command system would revolutionized RTS. So far my impressions of EndWar even with the RPS mechanic in it im still thinking its very fun the voice command system is great so yea even with the RPS mechanic i still say pick it up if ur a fan of RTS serisously.

Also as you can tell im a bit inactive as mentioned in my last blog school and football is alot of work its like a full time job i get up at 6 and dont get home to 6 plus all the homework you must be asking how can you enjoy this well i love football thats about all of it so yea sorry if it takes me awhile to get to all my unions and comment on all ur blogs and make my own blogs really sorry

Yup i beat it and let me say i CANNOT wait for the 2nd one i played the game being a total douche lol and it was hilarious and i must say if the 2nd Mass Effect really imports many of ur decisions from the 1st too the 2nd Mass Effect 2 could be one of the most ambitious games of all times. A lot of games say they will do this but they are just empty promises but i have faith in Bioware my ending was....................

    ***SPOILER***

i would have played more of the game and this time be a good guy but i had to give it back to my friend but let me tell you i WILL buy this game cause this is a game worth buying!!!!

I already made my bracket and i have Snake and Mario in the finals and i have Snake winning by a Small percentage. I really think Sackboy might be a sleeper to be quite honest i have him making it all the way to the final eight losing to link of course. So go make ur bracket and see how ur bracket holds up to the rest on gamespot when voting begins September 1st so hurry up and make it

I'll admit it i have been a big Sony Fanboy ever since i first played my PS1. I remember as I was a kid i would always come home from school and just turn it on and played all the great games on the PS1 such as FFVII and MGS. As I grew so did Sony soon after the PS1 came out and i bought the PS2 the Christmas it came out. By the time that the PS3 came out i experienced other things such as the Gamecube and the 360 and i was well aware of what was going on in the gaming world. Even though I was still a Sony Fanboy at heart i criticized some of their business moves they made and i must admit i was really getting worried for awhile. I really thought Sony would lose this console generation till this week and Sony will make a comeback i assure you.

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2009/features/gamescom-2009-photo-stream/gamescom_embed001.jpg

GamesCom 2009, A new convention that has tooken the place of Leipzig but is bigger and better then ever before and the birthplace of Sony's Comeback.

The afternoon of Tuesday, August 18th 2009 was a very eventful one indeed and probably one of Sony's biggest moments of this console generation. They had a lot riding on this conference maybe its spot to stay in the console race and everyone knew this was way bigger then E3. Sony had indeed brought it all to the table and I really do think they had everything riding on this one press conference. Sony announced many things that will really take them out of the dead last place that they are in and will bring them up to speed with their competitors. The announcement of the PS3 Slim, PS3 Price Drop, PSP Minis, Marvel Partnership, and all the gaming showcases I will go in-depth and study how this will affect them in the future and my personal opinion on the matters.

PS3 Slim and $100 Price Drop

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2009/features/gamescom-2009-photo-stream/gamescom_embed017.jpg

"The PS3 Slim is 32 percent smaller and 36 percent lighter and has 34 percent less power consumption than the current model. It will have all the same features and functionality as the current PS3."

The PS3 Slim and $100 Price Drop couldn't had come at a better time. The Sony PS3 was really dragging behind on sales it was like a wounded animal with one leg amputated despite having triple-A games such as Metal Gear Solid 4 and LittleBigPlanet. The announcement of the PS3 Slim had been longed rumored for months now so it came to be no surprise that it was going to be announced at GamesCom. Even though the announcement wasn't surprising it's impact will have longing affects on Sony's gaming outlook. The PS3 Slim is 32 percent smaller and 36 percent lighter and has 34 percent less power consumption than the current model. It will have all the same features and functionality as the current PS3. With a 120GB hardrive space at only $299 thats just a steal. What's even better is that all PS3 consoles that are currently on the market as of right now also have the reduced $100 price so expect a big sales increase for August despite the new PS3 Slim coming soon. The PS3 slim on my opinion looks sort of like a PS2 but rounded. Sure it lost its chrome finish but it still looks great they took off the chrome finish probably because it was a dust magnet and it cost alot to make and just wasn't worth the trouble. The PS3 Slim will defiantly help the PS3 this holiday season.

PSP Minis, Digital Comics, and Video Store coming soon to your PSP

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2009/229/ricardo_43769_embed.jpghttp://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2009/224/6215296_embed009.jpg

"Well PSP Minis are basically a copy off the Iphone's success with games that are only 100MB "mini games". This will sure to be a major success that are truly the definition of pick-up and go games."

The PS3 wasn't the only one getting on the major publicity. Sony did not forget about its own portable system also dragging behind in the portable sells. At E3 Sony announced the PSP Go! a new version of the PSP to be downloadable only that announcement got mixed reactions but I'm sure the announcements at GamesCom will all be positive. First off PSP Minis were announced, what are they you say? Well PSP Minis are basically a copy off the Iphone's success with games that are only 100MB "mini games". This will sure to be a major success that are truly the definition of pick-up and go games. Secondly a announcement with a partnership with Marvel Comics will bring your favorite comic superheroes such as Wolverine and Spider-Man right to the comfort of your PSP screen to read to your pleasure. Although this may not seem to big for you or me there are still lots of big comic book fans that are truly excited about this feature and will probably buy a PSP for this seriously. Lastly the announcement of the PSN Video Store coming to Europe. This is long overdue for something that has been out in North America for more then a year whats better they even announced that the video store will be making its way to the PSP which means movies to watch during those long trips.

Building up the Heavy Rain Hype

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2009/229/933123_20090818_790screen010.jpg

"Sony really did help out Quantic Dream a lot and started getting this game out to the public so maybe it can get the sales it deserves."

These type of inventive and original games never really get the attention they deserve. Up until this press conference i really did think that this game might go unnoticed by the general gaming public and just become a under-selling ****c like most original games like this. Sony really did help out Quantic Dream a lot and started getting this game out to the public so maybe it can get the sales it deserves. For a good portion of Sony's Press Conference the people at Sony and Quantic Dream talked about this highly ambitious PS3 exclusive game. Although this may seem like a small thing for us gamers that already know about the game and how great it will be but we are hardcore gamers we know these things. The general gaming public doesn't know about this game and putting Heavy Rain in the press conference will help get this game on big media outlets and really might make this game a hit. We can only hope that building up this hype will help Heavy Rain in the long run and pave the way for more original games to come out of hiding.

There you have it i discussed most of the subjects that were announced and seen at the Sony Press Conference. All these announcements will help Sony a lot but Sony still has a long treacherous road in the future with a bunch of twists in terms if they can make it past these hurdles Sony will make a comeback lets just hope they continue making these bright decisions in the future starting with the Tokyo Game Show next month!

First off ill start with my information with the epic Sony Blog. In the coming days i will make a epic blog that i really think might have the potential to be featured on Soapbox it will literally explain every little detail on how there big Gamescom announcements will affect them in the future. So i wont even mention the announcements in this blog cause u will read alot about it when i make my next blog so make sure to check in

    Now onto my Main Topic...............................

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/930279_70694.jpg

First off i did NOT buy this game see i was at my friends house and we were hanging and i played a little mass effect had lots of fun and asked him if i could borrow it for a few days well first off scratch a few days off i will be borrowing it for a few weeks. Apparently the next day his mother caught him smoking(moron let peer pressure get to him) and hes grounded so he said i could keep the game till hes ungrouded which will be awhile so i might be able to finish this game without rushing thru it which is great

Ive always thought Mass Effect was overrated it really didnt look like a RPG to me more like a shooter but i must say this is the first WRPG that im actually gonna say it i like it better then some JRPG's. This game is simply amazing it could really revolutionize the RPG industry serisously the combat which i thought was mostly just a shooter.............well is just a shooter but man what u level up really takes in account the experience u face in battle and really feels like a RPG oddly. And dont even get me started on the story so far the story is great i have never ONCE found a WRPG story that i actually liked better then ANY JRPG story but Mass Effect is different the dynamic conversation system is simply revolutionary your character is really.................your character it really captures the essence of good and bad and actually makes conversations fun and makes u want to talk to everyone you see. Another thing i always thought WRPG's lacked was side quests well so far Mass Effect has a plethora i mean it took me forever too get out of the first city not because of the main story because of all the sidequests and it was so fun and on top of that I DIDNT EVEN FINISH all the side quests in the city. Also the choices actually MAKE a impact on what happens in the game that most WRPG's always say will happen but never live up to it but Mass Effect ACTUALLY gets this right and it makes the most detailed universe in gaming come to life. Really Bioware always made the best WRPG's but none of it(not even KOTOR) lives up to this one and its simply amazing and it might revolutionize RPG's forever

So yes you can stuff it in my face i deserve it Mass Effect is awesome so far and for me saying it wasnt a RPG and more of a shooter and also for me saying it was overrated(i actually never said these things out loud but if i did man it would have bit me in the ass ) u can make fun me cause now im a fan and trust me once i give this back to my friend I WILL BUY IT and its sequel.

So thats my blog for today!!

Well i hooked up my 360 back up last week and i finally got myself to start playing................................

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/934384_77850.jpg

Ive been delaying it for awhile ever since i first got it back in April or May so i finally got around to it so heres what i think of each game first off we will go with.....

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/934386_108157.jpg

I thought this game was great man very inventive and very original but i must say(and i know alot of people will disagree) even thru it was very good i think its a bit overrated. I mean alot of people were saying the game was one of the best puzzle games of all time but man im not going to lie the puzzles were easy. The only puzzle that actually took me awhile to figure out was near the end of the game but the rest of the puzzles only took me about 5-10 minutes and another thing the game was WAY to short i beat it around 4 hours. Not saying portal is a bad game its actually very good but i think its a bit overrated

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/914642.jpg

When i first started Half-Life 2 i was getting the vibe that it was also overrated i thought things started out very slow but once things started getting around after Ravenholm the game picked up tremendously man this game was GREAT and definatley not overrated i mean the game has a sense of tension thruout the whole game for example during the highway 17 chapter while u are transversing under the bridge you slowly have to get across the bridge on the rails but then while u are coming back a gunship starts attacking u it makes for a totally different experience as you have to hurry across the bridge. That right there was my favorite part of the game. The thing that truly sets this game apart from the others is the DAMN good AI these things read you very good the game isnt painfully hard but it does provide a challenge cause the AI reacts to your every move which i liked alot. So far i just got on Half-Life 2 Episode One which i must say is very short im already half-way thru the game and ive only been playing two hours thats just ridicolous well at least The Orange Box is great

Well what do you think of the Orange Box and how im thinking about the games?

Well thats my blog for today!!

First off i would like to say that my last blog the Top 10 Underrated Games was mentioned in the community blog!!! This is my 2nd blog ever and also 2nd blog in three weeks to be mentioned in the community blog so yay. Now onto the main topic.

Yup you can feel it and smell it in the air. You all rush up to your computers to pick the best of the best during a live draft with your friends. You rush to the stores at midnight tomorrow to get your copy of the best selling franchise of all time. You go to the fields to play more of it and even practice if your on the team.

If you havent figured out what im talking about yet ill just say it now its almost the start of FOOTBALL SEASON!!!!(American Football not europeon football or as us americans call it soccer) Yup my favorite time of the year this past sunday was the start of the NFL Pre-Season and i must say that i watched even thru it was a pre-season game did anyone else watch it. Did you guys see that play done by the titans punter for a touchdown man that was just awesome too bad u never see that type of play in real football

Yup even my school's football program is starting up again if you guys didnt know ive been playing football all my life and this is my last year playing football so yea this year i will go out for a bang. I started two-a-days on monday if you guys dont know what this is its basically you come to football practice two times a day one in the morning and one later in the afternoon everyday. This is very physical and trust me im very sore after each day but after playing all ur life sore doesnt really bother you anymore

Also the NFL season starts up next month and i CANT wait serisously i love the NFL season whats a better thing to do then watch football to make sunday a awesome day. If you guys dont know this yet the Philadelphia Eagles are my favorite time have been a eagle fan for my whole life and i really think this year might be there year with reports coming saying that Brian Westbrook seems very healthly and McNabb really playing like hes in his mid 20's again and Desean Jackson really becoming a all-star receiver and with the additions of Jeremy Maclin and LeSean McCoy its really looking like its going to be the Eagles year

And i already set up my fantasy league with my friends heres my fantasy team as of right now

    Joe Flacco-QB-Baltimore
    DeSean Jackson-WR-Philadelphia
    Chad OchoCinco-WR-Cinncinati
    Derrick Mason-WR-Baltimore
    Adrain Peterson-RB-Minnisota
    LenDale White-RB-Tennesse
    Kevin Boss-TE-New York G
    Nate Kaeding-K-San Deigo
    Baltimore Defense

Thats my starting line-up as of now. Heres my Backups right now

    Knowshon Moreno-RB-Denver
    Kevin Curtis-WR-Phildelphia
    Phillip Rivers-QB-San Deigo
    Matt Cassel-QB-Kansas City
    Devin Hester-WR-Chicago
    Brent Celek-TE-Philadelphia
    Chad Pennigton-QB-Miami
    New England Defense

Well what do you think of my team im really considering trading some players for Donovan McNabb cause i think i might be lacking on my QB's but the rest of my team is great

And my last subject on football is Madden 10

Im not gonna lie the demo for Madden 10 really impressed me and im really considering getting it because theres loads of improvements my favorite is Online Francise mode i mean this might be the new fantasy football and i havent gotten a Madden since the 07 version so i think this would be a good time to get another madden what do u think

Well sorry if u guys were bored from my all sports related blog lol i just had to say it but thx for reading

Well that's my blog for today!!

This is the first of many in my Top #(it could be a variety of numbers) Series so stay tuned for all these lists to come in the future!

    ____________________________________________________________________________

The Top Ten Most Underrated Games will be putting it simply some very underrated games in the history of gaming. I describe the word underrated as poor sales and games that didn't get the recognition that they deserved. So now stay with me to see the Top 10 most underrated games of all time

    10. Suikoden

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/198843_28033.jpghttp://image.com.com/gamespot/images/screenshots/3/198843/suikoden_790screen003.jpg

Despite having a fugly boxart Suikoden was a RPG that was simply one of a kind. When this came out no one had ever seen anything like it and I'm not talking about the boxart. The game sported three different battle systems and over 100 characters to collect and to join your team. This game was given harsh scores by critics and so many gamers stayed away although this game sported many sequels the first game is one of the most underrated games of all time

    9. Wild ARMs 2

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/913703_47314.jpghttp://image.com.com/gamespot/images/screenshots/3/913703/wa2_790screen013.jpg

Wild ARMs 2 was received very harshly by critics and fans alike. How is a game hated by alot of critics and some fans get a spot on my Top Ten list. Well first off i don't understand why this game was received so harshly it sports a great battle system while doesnt taken any risks it sure is alot of fun and requires alot of strategy for your battles which is always a good thing too make games challenging. Secondly its one of the first RPG's that make you really think in terms of the puzzles and the tools you would get for your characters to solve these. No other RPG has made me think this hard before. Last but not least it had one great storyline that you would never guess all the twists in turns in the plot. Wild ARMs 2 was surely underrated

    8. Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals

    http://www.wikicheats.com/images/thumb/3/30/Lufia_II-_Rise_of_the_Sinistrals_-_SNES.jpg/180px-Lufia_II-_Rise_of_the_Sinistrals_-_SNES.jpghttp://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w89/redmage777/Reveiws/Lufia%20II/LufiaII-RiseoftheSinistralsUt10011.jpg

Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals is simply on the because i know that half of you haven't even heard of this game before even if your a hardcore gamer. Lufia II is considered by alot of people to be simply awesome in many ways. Too be quite honest its one of the first RPG's I have actually ever played(not the first but one of the first) It sported a wonderful storyline that rivals that of mainstream RPG's such as Final Fantasy and had a very unique battle system. You had four characters on screen during battle and plus one capsule monster. This capsule monster added a large layer of customization to Lufia as you would make it grow stronger by feeding it items, weapons, and armor. This was unseen in RPG's at the time and it is a shame that this RPG couldn't make it to the main stream if it did it might still be here today.

    7. Okami

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/920500_54203.jpg http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2006/260/reviews/920500_20060918_790screen001.jpg

If you are a hardcore gamer you have heard of this game and if you have heard of this game haven't bought it yet shame on you! Unlike some of the other games on the list Okami was loved by critics and fans alike and really was one of a kind. At first glance you will notice its very unique visual design that no other game has ever seen before and some gamers might have been turned off by this but on the inside of Okami's visual design there is a game that is unlike no other before it. It was truly a unique action game that could rival that of Zelda and other mainstream action games. Put it simply this was a very imaginative game where you had a celestrial brush that could be used for puzzles and even battles that added a puzzle element into the game. It also boasted a very unique story. I still don't understand why we will probably never see a sequel to this game because of poor sells if you haven't bought this game seriously shame on you!

    6. Grandia

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/197483_42240.jpghttp://image.com.com/gamespot/images/screenshots/3/197483/grandia_790screen003.jpg

After the releases of FFVII and FFVIII every one took a dive into the RPG world. Even with all these RPG newcomers Grandia never really got the recognition that it truly deserved. Sure the critics loved it and so did the fans that bought it but this game should have had much more success. Sure it has lots of sequels but they aren't the same as the original. Grandia battle system was turn based but offered a taste of real time because even though it was turn-based it still had the battle in real-time. It also offered a amazing story and something i haven't encountered in any other RPG i have ever played every person you talk in town with even if there not important your characters will have a conversation with them which really brightens up the characters. Grandia simply was a amazing game.

    5. Xenogears

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/bigboxshots/5/199365_28106_front.jpghttp://image.com.com/gamespot/images/screenshots/5/199365/xenogear_790screen003.jpg

Xenogears is the most underrated story-driven game ever. This game story was simply awesome and matched that of the Metal Gear Solid series. While it was very well received by Japan and Critics it was however a very different story in Europe and North America. This if I might say so myself is one of Square Soft's(now Square Enix) best games ever truly. It had a amazing story and like Suikoden earlier in the list it has two battle system. Both of them are very similar but both the battle systems brings a entirely new feeling too you while you are playing. Amazing Story and Characters and a awesome battle system and just a awesome game overall puts Xenogears in the middle of this list.

    4. Arc The Lad: Twilight of Spirits

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/news/05/08/582273.jpghttp://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/ps2/arcthelad/0624/arc_790screen003.jpg

Arc The Lad: Twilight of Spirits is the most underrated game on the PS2. Arc the Lad is a very different SRPG that sets it apart from the very crowded RPG market on the PS2. It offered a battle system like no other SRPG that mixed in Turn Based, Real Time, and Strategy RPG elements into one and in return it offered up a great game. The storyline is also great and offers up two main characters and each with a different storyline that intersects along the way and eventually binds into one. Some RPG's try to this but most don't succeed. This RPG was highly underrated because critics just thought it was okay and not that many people bought it. But let me tell you this was the most underrated game on the PS2.

    3. Valkyria Chronicles

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/bigboxshots/5/942165_99991_front.jpghttp://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2008/329/reviews/942165_20081125_790screen002.jpg

The new generation hasn't had many underrated games yet which can be said as a good thing but one game that was very awesome got virtually unseen by the general public. It got very awesome reviews by the critics and the gamers that actually bought the game but still the game didn't sell well at all despite all the drastic price drops in just a few months after the release. Valkyria Chronicles is a SRPG that mixed TPS elements in it which offered a very unique experience that you really don't see in games often. Its gameplay was unique to say the least and required you to think your moves in advance but still offered a action packed experience that a TPS would give you. Its anime-inspired art s-t-y-l-e was simply beautiful nothing else like it such as Okami earlier in the list. Valkyria Chronicles is very hard to find already even through it was just released not even a year ago and its all to blame on you the gamers.

    2. Parasite Eve

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/bigboxshots/5/198265_27977_front.jpghttp://image.com.com/gamespot/images/screenshots/5/198265/parasite_790screen009.jpg

Parasite Eve is a RPG that the world has never seen before and half you gamers missed out on this amazing game. Thanks to bad reviews from the critics many gamers stayed away from the game only to miss out on some of the PS1's best graphics and a very awesome battle system. The storyline was simply amazing and mixed together RPG and Survival Horror elements wonderfully making it a truly different game. The cinematics of the game were matched almost bar-none some of the cinematics looked like it came out of a PS2 game and the in-game graphics no other game had it not even Final Fantasy did. Even though this game was very short despite being a RPG(about 15 hours) however after you beat it you would never forget the game. The battle system was great a real time battle system mixed with the elements and atmosphere of a survival horror title such as Resident Evil(it even shared the same bad camera angles at points ) Parasite Eve can only be described as unique, different, and very underrated

Now it comes down to this #1 is.........................

    1. The Legend of Dragoon

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/bigboxshots/5/197765_16060_front.jpghttp://image.com.com/gamespot/images/screenshots/5/197765/legofdrag_790screen034.jpg

The Legend of Dragoon is the most underrated of all time for many reasons. It was harshly received by critics and it was released near the end of the PS1's life so it wasn't picked up by alot of gamers. I don't understand why the critics didnt like this game because this game is like no other in a good way. Its battle system could have revolutionized turn-based battle systems in other RPG's. When you would attack you are greeted with a square which you would press a button at a certain time if you don't do enough time the combo would fail and you wouldn't be able to finish it means less damage done to the enemy. Although this doesn't sound very revolutionary it sure was kept you on your toes in the battle. The graphics were also beautiful considering it was a PS1 game the FMV cutscenses looked almost like a late PS2 games it just looked amazing. I know for a fact if this game would have been played more by other gamers this would have gone on to have many sequels and might have changed the RPG market and the gaming market itself that it is today. Which makes The Legend of Dragoon my most underrated game of all time!!

    http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/all/boxshots2/199365_28106.jpg

This RPG is one of the first RPG's that i played that was VERY story heavy i know all RPG's are sorta story heavy but the Xenogears/saga games are very story heavy. The story is simply awesome and one of the reasons why i like this game so much is because it kind of reminds me of MGS. Its also one of the first RPG's that has two different battle systems. Sure Suikoden had three but two of them werent as fleshed out as the main but Xenogears two battle systems while similar are both great fun. I started this game friday and im about 10 hours in

    ***SPOILER***

So if u havent played this game yet and you just happen too see it one day definatly get it hopefully this will be added to PSN one day i heard its in the Japanese PSN store alrdy so maybe theres hope

Okay now onto the other subject..........

After a few months of nominations coming in the gamespot mods and admins will look at all the nominations then decide who to give the emblems too. The tenth anniversary of the Tales series is marked by Tales of the Abyss and it sure does live up to the series name!

The Tales series is one of the most popular RPG franchises in the world but mostly in Japan. Spanning dozens upon dozens of games in the series the franchise marks its tenth anniversary of the Tales series with Tales of the Abyss for the PS2. Although Tales of the Abyss isn't the best in the series it sure does pack quite a punch and truly celebrates and shows that the Tales series is one of the best RPG series out there, in terms of gameplay, graphics, sound, and one of the biggest parts of any RPG out there story.

One of the biggest components of the Tales series and mostly any RPG is the story. The Tales series has always had a history of writing out beautiful and imaginative stories with epic battles and conclusions. Of course considering Tales of the Abyss is celebrating the tenth anniversary of the series the developers really had to put there head together to make there best story yet and of course they succeeded. Tales of the Abyss has the best story of any Tales game out there which is a lot to say for the series.

The story starts off with Luke fon Fabre a son of a powerful duke of the kingdom of Kimlasca-Lanvaldear. Luke has always led a sheltered life in his huge estate within the kingdom never to venture outside of it because when he was young he was kidnapped by an unknown assailant. The kingdom searched for Luke only to find him scared and suffering from amnesia. Now years have passed and Luke is seventeen and bored out of his mind from being stuck at the manor for so many years. While practicing with the sword with the famous Master Van they are attacked by Tear Grants the sister of Van. While the attack is occurring Tear and Luke get transported to another part of the world. Now Tear takes Luke back to his home along the way they might save the world a bit.

The characters of Tales of the Abyss are some of the series best characters. Each character has his or her own unique personality that you will grow to like. Also each character will go through there own battles mentally and physically which provides for a great experience and really gives you an insight on their true character. For example the main character Luke starts off a spoiled brat but as you journey through the story he will grow in to a great young man and another example is Jade who has a dark past he wishes to hide and always is worrying or thinking about something but hides all of it through his great smile and his sarcastic remarks to everyone around him. Story and Characters go hand and hand and Tales of the Abyss is one game that succeeds to the highest degree in this department.

Gameplay is always the most important factor in any game and Tales of the Abyss ups the ante with new ideas and systems for the series. The battle system plays out like an Action RPG which means you get full control over your character and the other characters in your party are controlled by AI or you give them orders yourself. You engage yourself in battles by simply running into a enemy on the map that means no random battles. The battles basically give you a few enemies on screen while you move your character and defeat them with the basics of attacking, defending, and jumping, Tales of the Abyss lets you use artes a.k.a. special moves/magic to help you defeat them. You can customize what artes you use through the superb menus which give you a sense of customization in your character. There are also many other customizable options such as the Capacity Cores which let you control the way you level up your character and effects what AD skills you learn which can make you do special things in battle. Another way to customize is the Fon Slot chambers which let you add special effects to your artes. You may think the developers gave you a vast amount of customizations you can use to make your character what you want them too be, but really its just a illusion these customization options aren't really ground breaking and even if you don't use them you can still scrape by the game easily.

The battle system is great fun and I doubt you will get bored at it when you get towards the end of the game. Although its well thought out and made the developers forgot one thing the battle system is way too easy. When you are fighting weak enemies you can just win by button mashing and late in the game you will be so strong that only bosses will be a challenge for you and the rest of the battles will just be button mashing central. That said even when you are just button mashing it still seems like you are having a blast and trust me when you get too one of the many boss battles you will have a challenge ahead of you. You can also play with up to four friends cooperatively but this was just thrown in there and really isn't a full working system, thanks to the camera really only focusing on the player one. There is also a cooking mechanic where you can cook things by collecting ingredients in dungeons and shops which the food you cook can be used in battle to provide a variety of effects. This cooking mechanic is in every Tales game but once again it seems like it was just thrown in and you will realize its not worth the hassle and regular items are a lot easier to get and much better to use.

The dungeons in Tales of the Abyss are quite linear nothing really special about them its just get to Point A to Point B while a bunch of monsters are in your way but the dungeons do look awesome. Also the towns are quite small and to be honest the only thing really worthwhile in the towns is the Inn and some parts of the story. This is a big letdown for any RPG to have boring towns I know some towns in the game have some worthwhile things to check out but most of the towns are quite useless. The story progression is one of my biggest complaints in the whole game. For some parts of the story you just go town to town to get further in the story sometimes it will be quite awhile before you get into even a little battle. The story is quite awesome but for this type of game you do need battles and dungeons to space the story out and still make it great fun. I mean one time it took me about two hours till I got into a new dungeon which is just crazy for any game.

Like every RPG out there it at least has to have several mini games even through Tales of the Abyss only has a few but these few are way more worthwhile then several horrible mini games that other RPG's have. One I would like to point out is Tales of Dragon Buster which is basically a short castlevania-like 2-D platformer where you defeat enemies while traversing the level. This mini game could be a game itself and is great fun to play. Another one I would like to point out is a puzzle mini game where you move boxes in a warehouse to get to treasures. These mini-games are real brain teasers and very hard to figure but it is very fun to play. There are many great ideas in Tales of the Abyss especially the customizable options but they aren't really worked out enough to truly be remarkable

Tales of the Abyss graphics are nothing special but they get the job done. The graphics are greatly inspired by anime which is a trend in all Tales games. They look amazing if you are a fan of anime but if you aren't they may seem to be a big turnoff for you. Even through they look great some of it looks quite blocky which you don't see much of in games that were released around this time. Another negative is that while you are in the world map sometimes the game tends to slow down and start to lag which is quite annoying at time because you will be spending a lot of time on the world map. Sometimes during the story you will get anime cut scenes which are great to watch and they really worked hard on them to make them great as they give you a break from all the 3D graphics of the game. Even though the graphics aren't anything special this game doesn't rely on graphics much so they shouldn't bother you much.

Just like in any RPG you always need a good soundtrack and Tales of the Abyss does that wonderfully. If you are a fan of the Tales series you will notice some of the series tunes returning once again and many new ones that you will surely enjoy as you play through the game. The voice work for the game is usually disastrous in any Japanese RPG but the developers played there cards right and picked some great voice actors for the characters in the game. Sure some seem questionable but all and all they did a great job selecting them. The developers really did great wonders for the sound in Tales of the Abyss

Value is what every RPG provides and Tales of the Abyss doesn't do anything different. The main story in Tales of the Abyss will take you anywhere between 40 to 50 hours and with a plethora of side quests to do this game can very well take over a 100 hours to fully complete to 100%. Let's just say Tales of the Abyss isn't a game that you can beat in a rent.

Tales of the Abyss truly made the tenth anniversary of the Tales series a great one. With the core elements staying alive and even upgraded and new mechanics which some didn't meet to their true potential but still provided an awesome experience. Tales of the Abyss isn't something you should rent and if you are a fan of Japanese RPG's and don't mind this game having the story drag a little and the game being a bit easy time to time, then you should defiantly pick Tales of the Abyss up. I give Tales of the Abyss a 8 out of 10.
