    A Kiss before Dying

My hard drive is dying. And I am afraid, very afraid. Yes, I'm one of those people that never backs up the drive because in my utopian world that I live in, hard drives never fail. Well, I've learned otherwise.

I'm scared to cut the computer off, because it might not turn back on (plus I'm addicted to it). I'm scared to leave it running. One thing for sure, I'm not playing any games until the new drive is here, which Dell said will be the 2nd despite paying $16 for Next Day shipping and the drive was listed as shipping within 24 hours. I guess that's my punishment for not getting the extended warranty. They can kiss it.

Meanwhile, I'll just wait for my new WD drive to get here. I'll eventually turn the computer off, while saying a prayer and sprinking some holy water on it. This is going to be a long weekend.

    Games or the Girl?

A co-worker told me that she may break up with her boyfriend. She gave him an ultimatum, either he stop playing video games or she's going to leave him. I quizzed her on his playing habits because video games came become addicting. It didn't sound like anything out of the ordinary. He played for an hour, maybe two a day, bills were paid, house clean. He is taking her out to dinner and dates, but she doesn't like the game playing. She felt like it was immature to play video games. Mind you, this chick cried physical tears because she had to do a financial report, which is part of her job, but I digress.

So, I informed her that I play video games quite regularly, and that my 60 year old mother is a bigger gamer than I am. I told her that if he works hard everyday and takes care of your needs, let the man play his games. In fact, pick up a controller and play with him. She got very quiet after that. I guess she figured because I am a woman that I would sympathize with her and be on her side. Secretly, I hope he picks the games. Something tells me that he would be better off if he does.

    End of Summer!!

Yea!!! It's the end of summer! This is a happy time for me. My son goes back to school, the US Open tennis tournament going on, and to make matters even better, Maria Sharapova is getting her a... sorry, behind, handed to her on a platter. Oh how I love that. Tennis is the only thing that can take me away from playing games. I hope that Serena Williams turn her A game on and win this tournament. There's nothing that could end my summer better.
