It looks like we're leaving today, staying at stateline tonight, then going to vegas as planned on sunday, and finally setting out on monday morning. I was going to do a bigger blog, but the wife is anxious to get going, so short and to the point wins out. I'll do something special when i get back online the 6th.
See you ladies and gents when i get back!
Alright, so this is my final blog of the week and this wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, so while I won't be doing this three times a week anymore I'll try to do at least one per week.
I will be off work and away from Gamespot from July 6th-12th!
I'll be in Las Vegas on Sunday the 6th, then on Monday morning we're heading to Lake Mead to board the houseboat!
My wife's family is very lake oriented and this is their annual lake/houseboat trip. It is going to be a blast with events like:
Jet Skiing
Water Skiing
Sliding/Jumping into the water from the 2nd story
Inner Tubing
Cliff Diving
Floating around on a giant raft
Fireworks
Roasting Marshmallows
BBQ
Smoking Cigars
Drinking
Playing Cards
Hiking
Reading
ETC...
It is always fun to go somewhere you can't use a computer and don't get phone reception for extended periods of time, so I am greatly looking forward to the trip. Basically it is going to be a blast and I'm going to have the time of my life! WOOOO! ![]()
My little brother Timmy came home from Iraq about a week ago!!! He is a crew chief on a Ch-36 or "Battle Phrog." Here is a pic of what they look like:
I just found that image on the tubes though, so he isn't in that pic.
This was his second tour in Iraq and he had a couple close calls last time, so this second tour wasn't something we wanted. Anyway, he made it back fine and we are all glad to have the whole experience behind us. Luckily for us he only has a couple months of active duty left and isn't scheduled for another tour.
So what does this mean to you guys? I gave Timmy back his Xbox360, so anyone that had me on their Xbox360 friends list now has the real Timmyboy1985 instead of me. He's a good guy and I would recommend playing a couple games with him. He plays games that are popular with the "cool kids" like GTAIV, MGSIV, Halo, Bioshock etc...
Alright 2 down and one to go!
Alright. I'm going to try and do a blog here for Mon, Wed and Fri this week. I already have the basic ideas in my head, so it is really a matter of me making the time to write and publish them. Here goes #1:
So my family (Mom, Dad & Sister) moved out to the Lexington area of Kentucky about 5 years ago because they made some money on their house and they hated dealing with the Traffic and everything else that goes along with living in California. My Mom is a horse enthusiast and my dad wanted to buy a bar, so they found a bar in Lexington and moved out there to live the dream.
I try to visit them every other Christmas/Thanksgiving and they come out once a year to keep it even. Anyway, Mom and the kid came out and stayed at my place for a couple days. That was cool because we have plenty of room and I got home cooked meals everyday! Dad is supposed to come out in a couple weeks, so i'll get in a visit with him eventually.
They were in town for 2 weekends, so one was spent in San Diego with the grandparents (Mom's side) and the other was spent in Vegas with me, the wife and some of my dad's family. It was a good time all around. Kind of funny having your family visit you though...it's like being an adult.
Alright so I was Tagged yesterday by Shewolf1961, so many thanks ![]()
1. I hate my job and have begun the job application process for a high level government job that will be loads and loads better than my current place, so woot! to the new opportunity even though the change is making me nervous.
2. My second wedding anniversary will be on November 25th.
Pic of me and the wife (I've got an evil look in my eyes):
3. I go to vegas about twice a month, but usually don't gamble. I just enjoy hanging out drinking with friends and smoking Cigars.
4. I subscribe to several podcasts...Six Billion Voices, Never Not Funny, Ricky Jervais, Tikibartv and This American Life.
5. I walk 4 miles everyday during lunch which keeps me calm and breaks up my work day into two manageable parts
Oh so I'll tag some Templites since they are all interesting gents:
Alright I'll admit that I love Mustard more than any other condiment, but yesterday was a little sad even for me. I don't love it this much:
but i add it to any burger, hotdog, fry or sandwich i eat.
Anyway, yesterday I was making my sandwich for lunch and got out the bread and put the mustard on both sides and opened up the Turkey and that was when i realized the turkey had gone bad. So there I am 6:30 in the morning with no meat and a split loaf of bread with mustard on it, so what do i do? First I looked for alternative fillers, then i just gave up, so I added a little more mustard in there, closed it up and put it into a bag. So for lunch yesterday I had a bread and mustard sandwich...so sad. As a side note...it was good and I considered having it again today, but decided to cook up some lemon herb chicken last night instead.
